2005 BMW Safety Car Fleet launched

The stunning BMW MotoGP Safety Car Fleet was successfully handed over to Grand
Prix organisers Dorna before the opening round of the MotoGP Championship that
took place this weekend at Jerez, Spain. Axel Zimmerman of BMW gave the keys of
six cars to Claude Danis of Race Control on the pit straight of the circuit
that hosted the Spanish Grand Prix in front of 140,000 passionate race fans.

Heading the BMW MotoGP Safety Car fleet is a 507bhp M5 and a 6 Series as rapid
response vehicles. The Race Director has a *750i*, the Medical Car will a *330i
Touring* together with a *545i Touring* for the Safety Officer. The FIM Race
Stewards will have a *X5 4.4i*.

Two new *BMW K 1200 R* Power Cup Bikes will follow the 17 race MotoGP
Championship as Safety Bikes too.
