Munich. BMW has been organising the BMW International Open since 1989 – a record for the European Tour. This success story has been going strong for three decades and will continue until 2022. As of the 31st edition in 2019, the iconic tournament will take place at the Golfclub München Eichenried.

“Extending the BMW International Open to 2022 represents a strong commitment to the involvement of BMW in the golfsport in Germany,” says Peter van Binsbergen, Head of Sales and Marketing BMW Germany and Tournament President of the BMW International Open. “Our tournament has been delighting spectators and customers for 30 years. It provides a great stage for BMW and tournament partners to present themselves. The BMW International Open has also become a meeting place for the golf industry. We will continue this success story. We are looking forward to the next four years.”

The BMW International Open began in 1989, when Northern Ireland's David Feherty won at the Golfclub München Eichenried. The club in north-west Munich has been a venue for the tournament ever since. There were a few exceptions to this when the tournament visited the St. Eurach Land- und Golfclub between 1994 and 1996. Players teed off at Gut Lärchenhof in 2012, 2014 and 2016, and will do so again in 2018.

“On behalf of BMW, I would like to thank the management and members of the Golf Club Gut Lärchenhof for their exceptional commitment to the BMW International Opens that have taken place here. These were top-class events at a great golf course. We are looking forward to celebrating the 30th anniversary of the tournament together here in June,” says van Binsbergen. “We have always felt very welcome in Cologne and we would also like to thank the golf fans in the Rhineland for their support.”

From 2019 to 2022, the tournament will be held in Munich (Eichenried), close to the BMW Group headquarters.

Tickets for the 30th BMW International Open (20th to 24th June 2018), featuring Martin Kaymer (GER), Sergio García (ESP), Tommy Fleetwood (ENG), Ernie Els (RSA), Thomas Bjørn (DEN) and Stephan Jäger (GER) are available at www.bmw-golfsport.com/tickets. CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
