  • MINI Family member Jakub ‘Kuba’ Przygonski regains lead of the FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup.

Munich. The MINI Family crew of Jakub ‘Kuba’ Przygonski (POL) and co-driver Tom Colsoul (BEL) today achieved victory at the seventh edition of the Qatar Cross Country Rally – Round 4 of the 2018 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup. The dynamic duo in their MINI John Works Rally took two stage wins, two seconds and a third place to achieve the top podium position.

Taking the win in Qatar after five days and just under 2000km was Przygonski and Colsoul’s goal following their second place result in the 2017 edition. With today’s win, Przygonski regains the lead in the 2018 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup.

The five stage race held no real dramas for Przygonski and Colsoul (BEL), who drove a superb race and without falling foul of missing vital waypoints, unlike many of their competitors. Indeed, despite the desert heat, sand and rocky trails, the pair had nearly a faultless race to finish just over 40 minutes ahead of the second-placed car.

Jakub ‘Kuba’ Przygonski: “We are so happy to have won this rally. It is one of the toughest races in the World Cup season. It was a great race for us – we were really pushing from the beginning. We did not have any big issues with navigation or the MINI John Cooper Works Rally. I do feel for some of the other competitors who received penalties… but this is motorsport, where anything can happen!

“Now we are leading the World Cup. After four races it is a good sign for us – it shows we can fight for the win in the World Cup, which is something we will definitely try to manage.”

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
