French Superbike Championship: One-two result for BMW racers at Le Mans.

Made-to-measure start for BMW racers in the 2019 French Superbike Championship (FSBK): at the very first event of the season at Le Mans (FRA), they secured a one-two win. The 2017 champion and last season’s runner-up, Kenny Foray (FRA) of Tecmas Racing Team, won the first of Sunday’s two races on his BMW S 1000 RR. His team-mate Mathieu Gines (FRA) rounded off the success in second place. In race two, Gines finished in second place on the podium once again while Foray finished sixth. Maxime Bonnot (FRA), also from the Tecmas Racing Team, finished in tenth and seventh places, claiming first place in the Superbike Challenger (FSBK Ch) class in both races.

French European Bikes Championship: Victorious start to the season for the BMW S 1000 RR.

The BMW S 1000 RR riders kicked off the season with a one-two result in the French European Bikes Championship (FR EU) as well. The first races of the year were also held at Le Mans (FRA). Team MDS’s Jonathan Germany (FRA) won race one on Saturday. Cyril Brunet-Lugardon (FRA / Gers Moto Vitesse Ordannaise) secured second place on the podium. The pair finished on the podium once again in Sunday’s race when Germany took second, while Brunet-Lugardon finished in third place. The 2017 and 2018 champion, Florian Brunet-Lugardon (FRA / Gers Moto Vitesse Ordannaise), finished 11th in both races at the season opener.

MotoAmerica: Season opener at Road Atlanta.

The new MotoAmerica AMA Road Racing Series (MA) season got underway at Road Atlanta (USA) at the weekend. The two Superbike (MA SBK) and Superstock (MA STK) classes will be classified for the BMW Motorrad Race Trophy. The best-placed BMW rider in the Superbike class was Geoff May (USA / Ameris Bank / CCFOfficeSolutions.com), in tenth and eighth places. A new face in BMW team Scheibe Racing this year is Jake Gagne (USA), who has previously contested the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK). Gagne finished the first race in eighth place but retired in race two. Canadian Samuel Trépanier (Blysk Racing) crossed the finish line in 12th and 11th places. One race in the Superstock class was held in Road Atlanta, in which Travis Wyman (USA / Weir Everywhere Racing) only narrowly missed out on the podium in fourth place.

South African Superbike Championship: Lance Isaacs dominant at Zwartkops.

The South African Superbike Championship (RSA SBK) held its second race event of the season at Zwartkops, South Africa, at the weekend and race day on Saturday couldn’t have gone any better for BMW racer Lance Isaacs (RSA) and his team LIR / Supabets Gaming Group. Isaacs won both races and also set the fastest race lap in both events. Fellow BMW rider Harry Timmerman (RSA / Sandton Motorrad APPC) finished the two races in tenth and ninth place.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
