Munich. After six successful years together, the partnership between BMW M Motorsport and BMW M works driver Nick Yelloly (GBR) came to an end with the conclusion of the IMSA season last weekend at Road Atlanta (USA). Memorable achievements include victories at the 24-hour races at the Nürburgring (GER) in 2020 and Spa-Francorchamps (BEL) in 2023. Yelloly was also at the helm for the historic first win of the BMW M Hybrid V8 in 2023 at Watkins Glen (USA). The Petit Le Mans was his last race before he takes on new challenges starting in 2025. BMW M Motorsport thanks a great professional and wishes him all the best for the future.

In 2019, Nick Yelloly joined BMW M Motorsport and immediately celebrated success at the wheel of the BMW M6 GT3. Together with the FIST-Team AAI, he became the driver and team champion in the China GT Championship. Alongside Walkenhorst Motorsport, he won the qualifying race for the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring (GER). A year later, he achieved his first major triumph on the big stage, winning the 24-hour race for ROWE Racing alongside Nick Catsburg (NED) and Alexander Sims (GBR). In 2021, as the defending champion in the “Green Hell”, he secured the prestigious pole position in top qualifying.

In June/July 2023, Yelloly probably experienced the best week of his racing career so far. First, he achieved the historic first victory of BMW M Motorsport's LMDh prototype, driving the #25 BMW M Hybrid V8 alongside Connor De Phillippi (USA) in the IMSA race at Watkins Glen. Directly the following weekend, Yelloly triumphed with Philipp Eng (AUT) and Marco Wittmann (GER) in the ROWE Racing BMW M4 GT3 at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Over the years, he also accumulated numerous other victories and podium finishes. Most recently, Yelloly and De Phillippi finished second at Indianapolis (USA), marking the sixth podium finish for the duo with their BMW M Hybrid V8 in an IMSA race.

Andreas Roos (Head of BMW M Motorsport): “Nick Yelloly is a great professional who has achieved a lot with BMW M Motorsport. On behalf of the entire BMW family, I thank him for six wonderful years with plenty of reasons to celebrate. Personally, I will always remember that one week with back-to-back victories at Watkins Glen and Spa-Francorchamps. Nick Yelloly has everything a manufacturer could wish for in a racing driver. He is extremely talented, a great guy on a personal level, and you can always rely on him. Therefore, I am sure that he will be successful in his new job as well. I wish him all the best for his future and look forward to further encounters at racetracks around the world.”

Nick Yelloly: “I am incredibly grateful for everything BMW M Motorsport has done for me. They were the first to give me a chance as a works driver back in 2019, and together we celebrated many great successes. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a BMW M works driver and wish BMW M Motorsport all the best for the future.”

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies.
