BMW Motorrad expands its range in the full dresser touring segment with the addition of a model designed specifically for comfortable travel. The BMW K 1600 Grand America sees its premiere at the world's biggest motorcycle trade show, the EICMA in Milan (7 – 12 November 2017).
Model year 2018 will see a number of model facelift measures in the BMW Motorrad programme. The models can be ordered from all BMW Motorrad partners in the new configuration from August 2017.
With unrivalled running smoothness, an inimitable sound and the supreme power of its 118 kW (160 hp) 6-cylinder in-line engine, the extensively fitted BMW K 1600 GTL already provided incomparable dynamic travel pleasure in its existing form. In the revised version, BMW Motorrad has now optimised the luxurious performance touring bike even further.

The “Concept 101” concept study, released in spring 2015, was an impressive new chapter for BMW Motorrad in the history of BMW Motorrad Concept Bikes. This BMW Motorrad interpretation of motorcycling on endless highways, the dream of freedom and the embodiment of “Grand American Touring” now becomes reality in form of a series version of the new K 1600 B bagger.
The new BMW K 1600 GT – 6-cylinder performance and luxurious comfort for dynamic touring at the very highest level.With the new K 1600 GT, BMW Motorrad takes the concept of the 6-cylinder high-performance touring bike further and presents it in an even more sophisticated, dynamic and comfortable form, unchanged in terms of performance figures but now designed to meet the requirements of the EU4 pollutant class.
BMW Motorrad will be displaying two innovations at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on 6-9 January 2016. Laser light for motorcycles and a helmet with a head-up display will be presented, setting new standards of motorcycle safety, along with a technical outlook of how they may be employed in series models of the future.
Braking and being seen by the traffic behind is of essential importance for motorcycle riders.
