Munich. New momentum in challenging times: The Supervisory Board of BMW AG today appointed Dorothea von Boxberg to the company’s Board of Management, effective 1 September, and named her Labour Relations Director. She succeeds Ilka Horstmeier (57), who, in agreement with the Supervisory Board and in the shared interest of arranging an early succession, is handing over her role as Member of the Board of Management responsible for People and Real Estate.

Dorothea von Boxberg (52) is currently Chief Executive Officer of Brussels Airlines. Previously, she held several leadership positions at Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Lufthansa Cargo AG, including Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Lufthansa Cargo. After studying industrial engineering and business administration in Berlin and Paris, she also spent several years working in management consulting.

“Dorothea von Boxberg not only brings extensive experience in implementing transformation processes, but also an outside-in perspective on our industry. At the same time, her technical background makes her an excellent fit for the BMW Group. In addition, Dorothea von Boxberg has the decisive leadership strength to drive forward the necessary structural transformation of the BMW Group in the coming years,” said the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BMW AG, Dr. Nicolas Peter.

The BMW M Driving Experience extends with AREA M – Your Ultimate BMW M Experience: International focus with new name, new location and new events.

Munich. The launch of AREA M on 3 February 2026 marks the beginning of a new era of performance experiences. Memmingen joins Maisach as a new location; at the same time, AREA M restructures the portfolio and creates a more international focus. This includes a redesigned website with an Experience Finder that makes it easy for both existing fans and new visitors to find what they are looking for with just a few clicks. Gamified activities expand the portfolio. The “Games of Drift”, for example, exclusively available in Memmingen, use a specially modified M2 Drift vehicle to enable exhilarating customer experiences. Participants compete against each other and can track their standing via a live scoreboard on the website. The nine top-ranked drivers will enter the final on 17 October where they can compete for prizes. Specially designed events like “M Starter”, the “Ice Pro Experience” in Arjeplog, Sweden, and the “M Snow Active” aimed at performance-oriented drivers attract new target groups.

AREA M marks the transition to a multidimensional approach that goes beyond the classic driver training format. AREA M becomes the ultimate experience space, a place where brand enthusiasts come together, where performance can be experienced and where the M mindset is visible, audible and tangible. Accordingly, the new name functions as a bridge between BMW M as a high-performance brand and a space for experimentation and exploring limits – both physical and emotional. With Memmingen, AREA M is adding a new physical location to its portfolio. Like Maisach, Memmingen offers ideal conditions for exhilarating experiences of dynamic performance. Seven wet skid pads, three drift circles, four dynamic areas and additional handling and slalom zones open up a wide range of possibilities for creating new experiences. Memmingen also provides a physical home for the community with a lounge, conference rooms and excellent catering. This makes the location a real-world expression of the new brand claim, centred on an experience where everything feels like M. Every touch, every sound, every detail conveys high performance, energy and fascination.

Redefined range with a clear structure and reduced complexity.

BMW M is known for taking its customers’ wishes on board. In the case of AREA M, the new location and brand launch have been complemented by an updated portfolio, now tailored even more precisely to customer requirements. In the past, categories, subcategories and variations offered a wide range of booking options. The new digital platform now structures all experiences into the following categories: Winter, Track, Thrill, Custom and Control. In addition, there are five clearly defined levels: Compact, Essential, Plus, Pro and Max. Using the new Experience Finder, even new visitors can find what they are looking for with just a few clicks.

New and enhanced formats for additional target groups.

AREA M also stands for specially developed and new programmes such as the “M Ice Pro Experience” in Arjeplog, Sweden, or the “M Snow Active” in Sölden, Austria, which is tailored specifically to performance-oriented women. The entry-level “BMW M Starter” training will remain on offer, as will the 2025 best-seller, the “BMW M Drift Academy”, which moved to the Memmingen site in November.

Games of Drift challenges include following a defined drift spiral; the aim of the Ring Drop is to throw rings into a target area while drifting, and in Gymkhana, a complex course must be completed as quickly and flawlessly as possible while drifting. What is special about the event is that all results are entered into a live scoreboard on the public website. This shows each participant’s score and ranking and puts a playful focus on competition.

BMW, Toyota, Bosch and Repsol launch real-world pilot of vehicles running on 100% renewable gasoline

-BMW Group, Toyota Motor Europe, Repsol and Bosch are launching a pilot in Spain to demonstrate under real-world conditions how existing vehicles can operate exclusively on 100% renewable gasoline.

-The six-month initiative, which began in July 2026, will deploy Toyota and BMW vehicles powered by Repsol’s Nexa 95 100% renewable gasoline, supported by Bosch’s digital fuel tracking system.

-The pilot will provide real-world evidence that renewable fuels can be deployed at scale today using existing vehicles, refuelling infrastructure and digital certification technologies.

Munich, 15 July 2026 – The BMW Group, in collaboration with Toyota Motor Europe (TME), Bosch and Repsol, today announces the launch of a pioneering six-month pilot project in Spain. The pilot, which started in early July, will demonstrate the real-world potential of Vehicles running Exclusively on Eligible Fuels (VEEF)*.

The initiative will deploy a fleet of around 20 Toyota and BMW vehicles, powered by Repsol’s 100% renewable gasoline (Nexa 95), and supported by Bosch’s advanced digital fuel tracking technology.

This pilot aims to provide tangible, real-world evidence that Vehicles Exclusively running on Eligible Fuels can be effectively deployed at scale, supporting Europe’s transition to decarbonise mobility through a complementary, technology-neutral approach while leaving no one behind.

"Technology openness is a key pillar of the BMW Group strategy – at the same time our goal is always to have more environmentally friendly and efficient vehicles on the road. Our vehicles as a part of this future oriented pilot, will help to gain valuable data helping us to offer our global customer the best and most efficient powertrain also in the future.” says Dr. Stefan Heller, Head of Development of the VEEF programme at BMW Group.

The pilot will focus on three key objectives:
-Availability of renewable gasoline in the market – leveraging Repsol’s infrastructure, currently the only provider of 100% renewable gasoline at public fuel stations in Spain
-Readiness of digital tracking and certification technologies – enabled by Bosch’s “Digital Fuel Twin” system, which certifies renewable fuel usage across the full lifecycle
-Operational deployment of VEEF fleets – demonstrating that existing vehicles can run today on 100% renewable fuels using existing infrastructure

Bosch’s system will collect and validate refuelling data from multiple sources, including vehicle data, fuel stations and fuel card transactions, ensuring robust, transparent tracking of renewable fuel usage.

“With our 'Digital Fuel Twin,' Bosch is bringing full digital transparency to the entire fuel value chain to reliably track and verify the renewable fuels from the moment they enter the market right down to the end consumer. By precisely monitoring fuel usage on individual vehicles in real-time, we are building the foundation of trust and regulatory compliance needed for higher acceptance of renewable fuels in the mobility and transport sector”, says Dr Marko Babic, Head of Product Area at Bosch– in charge of the Digital Fuel Twin.

A scalable solution using existing vehicles and infrastructure
Unlike solutions that require new vehicle technologies or infrastructure investments, the pilot uses existing Toyota and Lexus passenger cars provided by Toyota España (TES), and BMW Group fleet vehicles.

It highlights the immediate scalability of renewable fuels as a drop-in solution for decarbonising road transport. Repsol’s Nexa 95 renewable gasoline is produced from RED-compliant feedstocks, offering significant greenhouse gas reductions compared to fossil fuels, while remaining fully compatible with today’s gasoline engines and infrastructure.

Spain has been selected as the optimal location for this demonstration due to the availability of renewable gasoline, strong partner collaboration, and Toyota España’s operational support.

Strengthening the case for technology neutrality in Europe The pilot is designed to generate robust data and insights that will support ongoing European policy discussions on decarbonising the automotive sector.

With EU policy currently focused predominantly on electrification, the project aims to demonstrate that renewable fuels can play a complementary and scalable role in reducing CO₂ emissions. Data and intermediate findings from the pilot will be shared with EU policymakers, industry stakeholders and media audiences, contributing to discussions around technology neutrality and the potential inclusion of VEEF vehicles within future regulatory frameworks.

Driving measurable impact
A key success factor of the project will be promoting the effective use of renewable fuel across the fleet, supporting emissions reductions and advocacy impact. The pilot will also provide valuable insights for R&D validation and monitoring methods, the scalability of existing approaches for tracking physical fueling, and fuel operator’s ability to link fuel consumption to individual vehicles.

* Eligible fuels: Refers to renewable and low-carbon fuels that comply with EU sustainability criteria under the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) and deliver significant greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions on a well-to-wheel basis compared to fossil fuels. This includes sustainably produced biofuels and renewable fuels derived from waste, residues or renewable energy sources, as recognised in ACEA and FuelsEurope positions supporting the deployment of Vehicles Exclusively running on Eligible Fuels (VEEF).

BMW Motorrad presents the GS Trophy Competition Bike - the BMW R 12 G/S.

Munich. When the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy 2026 returns to Europe in late summer 2026, the country teams will encounter Romania’s spectacular natural landscapes, rugged terrain and deeply rooted culture. The impressive diversity of the scenery is made for authentic off-road adventures — through mountains, forests, rivers, and villages where time seems to stand still. The teams can expect a setting that demands riding skill, precision and the ultimate piece of equipment:
the BMW R 12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike.

The GS Trophy Competition Bike, designed exclusively for this competition — which has been held since 2008 — is based on the BMW R 12 G/S and fully equipped for any off-road adventure thanks to its specific range of accessories.

The equipment of this special BMW R 12 G/S includes, among other features, the Comfort Package, comprising Hill Start Control, Gear Shift Assist Pro, heated grips and cruise control. Additional components include Headlight Pro (adaptive cornering light), Riding Modes Pro, and the Enduro Package Pro with off-road tires, an 18-inch rear wheel and handlebar risers. Engine protection bars, cylinder head covers, a Rally cockpit fairing, navigation preparation, an Akrapovič silencer, and a 5-litre tank bag, used as a rear bag, complete the extensive equipment specification of the
BMW R 12 G/S GS Trophy Competition Bike.

The GS Trophy Competition Bike can be configured—apart from a few details—based on the BMW R 12 G/S.
Although this competition machine is not available for purchase in exactly this form, customers can recreate it on the basis of the BMW R 12 G/S, with only minor differences such as the decals.

The base colour is Lightwhite uni, as the blue tank tapes and the red seat bring the BMW Motorrad Motorsport DNA to life, clearly expressing its sporting purpose in off-road use — just as the teams will experience it in the wild landscapes of Romania.

The appearance of our BMW M3 Touring 24H at Goodwood was, of course, a spectacular highlight. I am delighted with the pole position and podium finish for Paul Miller Racing in Canada, as well as the podium for Turner Motorsport during the IMSA weekend. Additional podium finishes in GT World Challenge Asia and the ADAC GT Masters complete the outstanding results for the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. Added to that were the fantastic weekend for Casals Motorsport in Vallelunga and the class victory for Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport at the Nürburgring with the BMW M4 GT4 EVO. Many thanks to all BMW M Motorsport teams. We now carry this momentum into the coming weeks as we aim for more victories and podium finishes together with our strong customer teams.”

IMSA Series (10–12 July): Verhagen and De Phillippi on the podium.

BMW M works drivers Neil Verhagen and Connor De Phillippi (both USA) secured a podium finish during the sixth race weekend of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CAN). The American duo from Paul Miller Racing finished third in the GTD PRO class in the #1 BMW M4 GT3 EVO after two hours and 40 minutes of racing. With their third podium in six races, Verhagen and De Phillippi extended their championship lead.

On Saturday, Verhagen claimed the second pole position of his IMSA career – at the very same venue where he celebrated his maiden pole a year earlier. “The Paul Miller Racing team gave me an outstanding car today,” said the 25-year-old after qualifying. “I can't thank them enough. Both of my poles have come here at Mosport, which is pretty funny. I guess this is my track.”

In the GTD class, fellow BMW M works driver Robby Foley teamed up with Patrick Gallagher (both USA) to finish third in the #96 BMW M4 GT3 EVO for Turner Motorsport, completing a double podium for BMW M Motorsport at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The GTP class was not part of the event in Canada.

In the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, Austin Krainz (USA) and Steven McAleer (GBR) finished second in the two-hour race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in the #27 BMW M4 GT4 EVO for AutoTechnic Racing.

Goodwood Festival of Speed (9–12 July): BMW M3 Touring 24H charges up the hill.

The BMW M3 Touring 24H once again underlined its cult status at the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed (GBR). The car, which originated as an April Fool’s joke before sensationally finishing fourth overall and winning its class at the Nürburgring 24 Hours (GER), also thrilled British motorsport fans. BMW M works driver Jordan Pepper (RSA) took part in the iconic hillclimb with the BMW M3 Touring 24H. Showcasing the car’s impressive performance, he recorded a time of 46.54 seconds, the fifth-fastest overall, while also winning his class.

Jordan Pepper: “It was my first time at Goodwood and what an incredible event it was. I am very grateful to have been a part of it, the atmosphere was great from the start to the end. It was a very special moment to take the BMW M3 Touring 24H up the hill, push this incredible car to its absolute limits and put on a good show for everyone. It was a real privilege to showcase what an incredible car our BMW M3 Touring 24H is - and what an icon it has become. Our car was definitely one of the fan favourites, we had so much attention around it. It is a car that has already cemented itself in endurance racing history. It is telling an incredible story with so much love and support from everyone. It was a pleasure to be able to share that at Goodwood with the incredible people from BMW M Motorsport. Fighting for an overall podium and winning our class as well in the time shootout was very cool and super fun. A huge thanks to BMW M Motorsport for bringing me along. I hope I will be back at Goodwood and that it won’t have been the last time I drive the BMW M3 Touring 24H.”

GT World Challenge Asia (10–12 July): Hesse and Ruan score double podium at Fuji.

BMW M works driver Max Hesse (GER) and teammate Cunfan Ruan (CHN) celebrated a double podium at Fuji (JAP). The KRC duo finished third in the Pro-Am class in the #89 BMW M4 GT3 EVO in both Saturday’s and Sunday’s races. As the second race at Fuji International Speedway was dominated by the Pro-Am entries, third in class also meant third overall and a place on the overall podium.

In the Silver-Am class, Maxime Oosten (NED) and Brian Lee (TPE) proved unbeatable at the foot of Mount Fuji. The GTO with KRC duo won their class in the #10 BMW M4 GT3 EVO on both Saturday and Sunday.

PLUS with BMW M Team Studie finished eighth and tenth in the Pro-Am class with the #5 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, featuring the distinctive livery inspired by “BLEACH”, one of the world’s most successful animated TV series.

GT4 Italy Series (4–5 July): Giacomo Maman and Gustavo Sandrucci (both ITA) dominated the fifth round of the GT4 Italy Series. The Casals Motorsport duo claimed victory in both races with the #16 BMW M4 GT4 EVO. Their teammates Luca Esposito and Sebastian Gavazza (both ITA) completed a double podium for the team on Sunday by finishing third, while Promodrive had already secured third place on Saturday in the #27 BMW M4 GT4 EVO.

24H Series (3–5 July): At the 12H Nürburgring (GER), Michael Bonk, Claudia Hürtgen, Elia Weiss (all GER) and Martin Kroll (SUI) of Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport claimed victory in the GT4 class.

Eni and BMW Group: an agreement for Enilive HVO diesel biofuel to power corporate fleets

Munich/Rome. July 13^th, 2026. Eni and BMW Group announce an agreement to power the BMW vehicles of corporate fleets in Italy with HVOlution (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), a diesel biofuel that is produced from 100% renewable feedstocks by Enilive.

Enilive is Eni's company dedicated to products and services for a more sustainable mobility.

With an approach that aims to support a successful energy transition through the usage of all available technologies, the BMW Group considers 100% pure HVO as an important solution towards an "Eligible Fuels only-fleet" for its customers, and as an effective product that can immediately contribute to decarbonize road transport.

In 2025, across the entire supply chain, the average CO₂eq emissions reduction of Enilive HVO was 79.5% compared to the reference fossil mix*.

BMW Group recently started its demo- and development diesel-fleets powered by pure HVO. In the vehicles of the fleets a new technical solution is being developed by the BMW Group: refueling data from vehicles is being compared with data from the fleet operators’ payment system, to seamlessly trace the fuel used by each vehicle. This allows a complete and transparent traceability of the fuel the vehicle has used.

The BMW corporate fleets involved in the initiative use pure HVO while travelling across Italy, Germany and Austria, countries where a network of about 1,700 Enilive Stations provides the product HVOlution (100% pure HVO).

This new agreement follows the announcement that Eni and BMW Italia ally for a more sustainable mobility: BMW Group support of the usage of Enilive HVO diesel biofuel is one of the pillars of the ongoing collaboration.

In accordance with the European fuel standard EN 15940, the BMW Group has approved the use of HVO diesel fuels for its Diesel models registered from late 2014 onwards, and equipped with a Generation B diesel engine.

Furthermore, to raise awareness about biofuels, BMW Italia is providing an Enilive HVOlution voucher to all customers of new BMW diesel vehicles in Italy.

Dr. Martin Kaufmann, SVP Powertrain Development at BMW Group, said: “We are very happy to collaborate with Eni in our test and demo fleet. In this case this has more than one benefit: Eni is using BMW vehicles in their corporate fleet, at the same time is Enilive a major force in pushing renewable fuels in Europe. With HVOlution, Enilive has a very good product available delivering CO₂eq emissions reduction every day.”

With more than 250 million existing vehicles in Europe, their CO₂eq footprint can be improved if the proportion of renewable fuels is increased. This further underlines BMW Group’s commitment to enabling immediate and practical emissions reduction measures already available today.

BMW Group support this initiative in addition to its wide range of powertrain technologies, as the company’s goal is to reduce CO₂eq emissions across all areas.

The BMW Group is convinced that all available technologies are needed to reduce CO₂eq across the entire value chain. In particular, there is potential for CO₂eq reduction in the area of fuels that are not based on fossil.

FIA WEC: Second win of the season for BMW M Team WRT – #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 triumphs in São Paulo.

São Paulo. Second win of the season, championship lead, and a podium in the LMGT3 class: the fourth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) in São Paulo (BRA) was a triumph for BMW M Motorsport and BMW M Team WRT. In the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, Kevin Magnussen (DEN), Raffaele Marciello (SUI), and Dries Vanthoor (BEL) celebrated their first victory in the FIA WEC. For BMW M Team WRT, it was its second triumph of the season following its one-two finish at Spa-Francorchamps (BEL). The #20 Shell BMW M Hybrid V8 finished eighth after a strong comeback, allowing Robin Frijns (NED) and René Rast (GER) to reclaim the lead in the drivers’ championship. In the LMGT3 class, Dan Harper (GBR), Parker Thompson (CAN), and Anthony McIntosh (USA) returned to the LMGT3 podium for the first time since their season-opening win at Imola (ITA), finishing second .

The #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 started the six-hour race from fourth on the grid. However, starting driver Magnussen quickly moved up to second place, putting the crew in a promising position in the fight for victory. After the final round of pit stops, closing driver Vanthoor was in the lead, which he defended all the way to the finish. After a disappointing qualifying, the Spa-Francorchamps winners and Le Mans (FRA) runners-up – Robin Frijns, René Rast, and Sheldon van der Linde (RSA) – started from only 16th place. Thanks to flawless performances and a strong strategy, however, the trio fought their way up to eighth position. This result was enough for Frijns and Rast to reclaim the lead in the drivers’ standings with 75 points. In the manufacturers’ standings, BMW M Motorsport is now second with 127 points, just five points behind Toyota.

In the LMGT3 class, Team WRT was able to celebrate again after two disappointing races. In the #69 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Harper, Thompson, and McIntosh moved up from fourth on the grid to finish second, securing their second podium of the season after their triumph at Imola. In the #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Augusto Farfus (BRA), together with Sean Gelael (INA) and Darren Leung (GBR), finished twelfth at his home race.

Today, the BMW M Hybrid V8 was one of the fastest cars and a pleasure to drive. The strategy was perfect, the pit stops too – everything just worked today. My two teammates did an excellent job. That’s why I’m overjoyed to have finally achieved this victory. It took a long time, but now we’ve finally done it.”

Raffaele Marciello (BMW M Team WRT, #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, 1st place): “It’s an incredible feeling. Three years ago, we started from the bottom, and now this year things are going very well for us with car #15, car #20, and for BMW M Motorsport so we can be very satisfied. We have to keep working hard, but I think we have a great team. We work very well together. We’ll keep giving it our all. Today is a great day.”

Dries Vanthoor (BMW M Team WRT, #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, 1st place): “I’ve never experienced a situation like at the start of my stint. I just got in and didn’t feel comfortable at all. I wasn’t feeling particularly well and had to take a deep breath to somehow make it to the end. But I’m super happy. BMW M Team WRT did a great job today. The strategy was fantastic and the car was phenomenal during the race. It took a long time, we worked really hard, and to achieve this now is just so, so nice. A big thank you to everyone working behind the scenes.”

René Rast (BMW M Team WRT, #20 Shell BMW M Hybrid V8, 8th place): “First of all, congratulations to the #15 crew on their victory! That’s a great success for all of us. Those of us with car #20 can also be satisfied with eighth place after starting from the very back. They are valuable points in both championships, and Robin and I are back at the top of the drivers’ standings. Nevertheless, we need to look at why we couldn’t match the pace of our sister car. We made up a lot of places in the race, but even then we didn’t have the same performance as car #15.”

Dan Harper (Team WRT, #69 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, 2nd place LMGT3): “Second place here in Brazil is a fantastic result. We didn’t expect that, as the circuit didn’t really suit the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. I think the cooler conditions on race day played into our hands. The longer the race went on, the better our car became. Hats off to my teammates who put us in a great position with their qualifying laps and stints. The team did a perfect job and found the optimal strategy for us. Everyone deserved this podium.”

Augusto Farfus (Team WRT, #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, 12th place LMGT3): “Congratulations to our sister car on second place. We improved the car a lot over the weekend, and car #69 rewarded the team with the podium. It’s frustrating that we lost a minute to them during the race. We need to analyse exactly why that was. We’ve had some disappointing races recently, but we’re determined to achieve better results in the second half of the season. Congratulations to the Hypercar crew on the overall victory!”

Challenging WorldSBK weekend at Donington Park.

Donington Park. After more than two months and three race weekends, the time had finally come again at Donington Park (GBR) when at round eight of the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK), the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team was once again able to compete with both of its regular riders on the BMW M 1000 RRs. Miguel Oliveira (POR) had already returned from injury at Misano (ITA), and now Danilo Petrucci (ITA) was also fit to make his comeback. However, the team’s home round proved to be a challenging one. The hard and difficult work in the search for the optimal setup, along with the determination shown by the riders and the team, went unrewarded. 11th place for Oliveira in Race 1 was the maximum that could be achieved this weekend.

In Superpole qualifying, Oliveira had to push beyond the limit in his pursuit of a fast lap time and suffered a minor crash at the end of the session. He therefore started from 12th on the grid. In Saturday‘s race, he finished 11th. In Sunday morning’s Superpole Race, the Portuguese rider was forced into the gravel while battling for position, dropping back to 20th place. He eventually finished 12th in the second feature race.

Petrucci qualified directly behind Oliveira in 13th place. He, too, tried in vain to move forward in the races. On his comeback weekend, the Italian recorded two 15th-place finishes in the feature races and 19th place in the Superpole Race.

WorldSBK now enters its long summer break. The ninth race weekend of the season will be held from 4th to 6th September at Magny-Cours, France.

Reactions after the Donington Park round.

Sven Blusch, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport: “After the difficult weeks dealing with the injuries of Miguel and Danilo, we were finally able to race with both of our regular riders again at Donington Park. Of course, we had hoped for a more successful weekend, but we were unable to translate the potential of the riders, the bike and the team into better results. Everyone worked hard, but we did not manage to unlock the bike’s performance at this track. Now our focus turns forward. WorldSBK is entering its summer break, and we will use this time to make further progress and return stronger in September at Magny-Cours.”

Christian Gonschor, Technical Director BMW Motorrad Motorsport: “Donington Park is always worth a visit, but this year both the riders and the entire team leave this legendary circuit disappointed. We were unable to meet the expectations we had set for ourselves. The pre-event test here proved somewhat misleading rather than helping us improve our performance. In addition, there were further unfortunate circumstances, such as Miguel’s fall in qualifying. Moreover, the reduced fuel-flow allowance we continue to have compared with our Japanese rivals as a result of winning the 2025 world title is clearly having an effect. This made our fight back through the field even more difficult in the races, even though our race pace itself was actually encouraging. After all, we were faster here than we were last year. The results, however, speak for themselves. We will therefore use the summer break for intensive testing so that we can provide our riders with a competitive motorcycle again at Magny-Cours. For now, the task is to recharge our batteries and regain our energy so that we can mount a full attack in the remaining races and demonstrate the potential of the BMW M 1000 RR.”

Shaun Muir, Team Principal ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “First of all, I’m really pleased to have both riders back in the pit box. We’ve clearly been missing our two permanent riders from a development perspective moving forward, and we have to thank Michael van der Mark for his work in their absence. Overall, the weekend was quite difficult for us. We tested here two weeks ago and thought we had a good base to start from, but we quickly realised in FP1 and FP2 that we were lacking in certain areas. Both guys qualified reasonably well. Miguel possibly could have been higher up, but for a small spill in the final sector. Nevertheless, all three races were quite a struggle. The starts were reasonable, but they got into a packed field where they simply couldn’t make much progress from the opening laps. Overall, we need to focus on reviewing the data, look ahead to the Magny-Cours test that’s coming up, and try to find confidence in the package. We need to give Miguel and Danilo that feeling of confidence back so we can get back to where we were before the injury.”

Miguel Oliveira, ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “It has been a tough weekend. For sure, there are some positives to take. We scored points in both races but we were a little bit further behind than we had hoped so that gives us some work for the summer break. For sure we are eager to improve for the remainder of the season. The crew is obviously not happy with the results, nor am I, but the good thing is that we are all pushing in the same direction to try to improve this package and to do the best we can with what is left of this season. I am confident that with everybody’s help and the motivation that we all have to improve we will get better results again.”

Danilo Petrucci, ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “First of all, I’m happy to be back racing, and especially to be with my team again. It’s been a difficult weekend, but physically I’m okay – I’m doing well. We have to work to improve our performance, but I have to say I enjoy racing and having some battles. Fortunately, during the summer break we’ll have some testing, so we’ll try to improve the situation. I can’t wait to ride my bike again. I’d like to thank all the crew, all the engineers from BMW, and the whole team, because they worked really hard. We’ll keep moving forward from where we are.”

Growth in the US and Europe, positive sales momen-tum driven by Neue Klasse models

Munich. The first half of the year presented a mixed picture: While the market in China and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region saw a significant decline in the first six months of the year, the BMW Group increased its sales in Europe and the US. In Europe, sales rose by around +5.4%. In the US, the company recorded growth of +3.9%, where the BMW brand is outperforming the overall market. In the first half of 2026, the BMW Group delivered a total of around 1.15 million vehicles to customers worldwide, representing a slight decline in sales (-4.2%).

“Despite challenges worldwide, we achieved positive sales results in the US and Europe,” said Jochen Goller, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands, Sales. “The Neue Klasse continues to show strong momentum. With the BMW iX3*, we are on track to reach the next major milestone of 100,000 new orders. The second Neue Klasse model, the BMW i3, is already seeing strong demand since orders opened ahead of its launch.”

With the start of delivieries of the new BMW iX3, sales of fully-electric vehicles showed a positive trend in the second quarter.The BMW Group delivered 116,807 BMW and MINI fully-electric vehicles to customers between April and June 2026 (+5.2%). Particularly in the European market, where the BMW iX3 was available first, BEV sales rose sharply. With 81,445 units delivered in the second quarter, the company recorded double-digit growth of +38.0% across Europe. In Germany, BMW rose to second place in Q2 for registrations of fully electric vehicles.

The BMW brand delivered around one million vehicles to customers in the first half of the year (-6.2%). The BMW brand recorded growth in both Europe (+1.5%) and the US (+4.7%). In the USA, growth was primarily driven by the BMW X models. The new BMW X5 was also unveiled there in late June, with its market launch expected to generate positive sales momentum worldwide. During the same period, BMW M GmbH delivered 99,595 vehicles to customers (-6.0%).

With a total of 149,538 vehicles sold, the MINI brand posted a significant year-on-year increase of +11.7%, marking its sixth consecutive quarter of growth. MINI’s fully-electric models experienced strong global demand and were the brand's primary growth driver. The Rolls-Royce brand handed over 2,523 vehicles to customers in the first half of 2026 (-9.8%). In the first six months of the year, BMW Motorrad delivered a total of 102,847 motorcycles and scooters (-2.9%).

The MINI Cooper Oxford Edition: A tribute to the home of the brand.

The central red and white stripe of the flag runs along the entirety of the car as a key design element, visually tying the exterior design together. BMW iX3 achieves highest “five star” rating in first Euro NCAP test since introduction of new, more stringent assessment standard.

Munich/Brussels. The BMW iX3 has been awarded the highest rating of five stars in the latest safety test conducted by independent assessment organisation Euro NCAP. The BMW iX3 was one of the first vehicles to be assessed according to the thoroughly revised test protocols introduced in 2026. The new testing procedure has a greater focus on real-world scenarios on the road and imposes significantly greater requirements for vehicle safety. In the latest Euro NCAP test, the first Neue Klasse model impressed in each of the four new crash safety stages – “Safe Driving”, “Crash Avoidance”, “Crash Protection” and “Post Crash Safety”. Indeed, it exceeded the scores required for a five-star rating by a significant margin.

The highest rating of five stars achieved here by BMW is rooted in the brand’s all-encompassing approach to safety. The safety concept of the BMW iX3 takes into account the protection of those on board in a collision, as well as crash avoidance systems and functions that help to extricate occupants after a crash. This fits in with the new and more stringent Euro NCAP assessment system. Previously, ratings were given for protection of the vehicle’s occupants (both children and adults) and vulnerable road users, and for the vehicle’s safety assistance systems. The new procedure now covers the entire sequence of events and places a clear emphasis on everyday road scenarios.

Driver assistance systems in the BMW iX3 earn excellent rating.
The standard-fitted driver assistance systems in the BMW iX3 played a key role in this strong performance. In the “Safe Driving” category, for example, Euro NCAP gave the BMW a positive rating in recognition of its ability to help drivers stay alert to the traffic around them. The Speed Limit Info display also made a convincing impression. It showed the correct speed on 97 per cent of a cross-border test route covering around 2,000 kilometres (1,243 miles) through Italy, France, Germany and Austria. Likewise attracting a positive assessment was the combination of physical controls for essential driving functions, the Central Display for adjusting infotainment and comfort-enhancing functions and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant for voice control. The systems in the BMW iX3 that detect if a child has been left behind in the vehicle earned a positive assessment, too. And the BMW iX3 posted a score of 73 per cent for “Safe Driving”, which is 13 percentage points higher than actually required for a five-star rating in this category.

Exit warning provides effective protection for cyclists.
The BMW iX3 scored 83 per cent for “Crash Avoidance”. Here, it impressed with an extensive array of active safety systems, including Front Collision Warning with brake intervention. Also earning praise was the exit warning function, which reminds occupants getting out of the car to be aware of cyclists approaching from the rear. This prevents injuries caused by opening the vehicle’s doors at the wrong time.

Exceptional safety for children in the rear seats.
The BMW iX3 recorded an excellent result (86 per cent) for “Crash Protection”. Euro NCAP awarded it the maximum number of points for the protection provided to the child test dummies in the rear seats in an asymmetric frontal collision. Additional test data and validated simulation models also confirmed a high level of protection overall for occupants with different body sizes in the various impact tests. In the side impact tests, the BMW iX3 again recorded top marks. The standard-fitted central airbag played its part here by preventing the driver and front passenger from colliding with one another.

Excellent rating for assistance after a crash.
In the “Post Crash Safety” category, the BMW iX3 posted an outstanding 95 per cent. Here, features are assessed that increase safety for occupants after a crash and help them to be extricated from the vehicle. These include emergency call systems, as well as functions designed to make the high-voltage battery safe and provide access to the vehicle for first responders. Particularly relevant here were the flush-fitted exterior door handles of the BMW iX3. The assessors confirmed that the electrically operated handles worked reliably after all the crash tests. Occupants are able to exit the vehicle and rescuers can gain access from the outside – even in the event of all the electrical systems failing. This is enabled by a mechanical redundancy for the opening systems in the BMW iX3, and Euro NCAP gave it a positive rating accordingly. The car performs well beyond legal requirements when it comes to its emergency call system. For example, it sends out two GPS coordinates, which helps rescuers to identify which side of a motorway the BMW is on and therefore to reach the scene more quickly.

New assessment procedure: from crash testing to complete vehicle rating.
The new Euro NCAP protocols represent the most comprehensive overhaul of the assessment procedure since the combined rating system was introduced in 2009. Today, driver assistance systems, real-world traffic scenarios and safety following a crash play a more prominent role in a vehicle’s overall rating – in addition to the traditional crash tests. The aim is to create a more comprehensive picture of the performance of modern safety technologies and assess their effectiveness in real-world situations on the road.

Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) is an independent consortium of European transport ministries, automobile associations, insurance associations and research institutes. Since 1997, the organisation – headquartered in Leuven, Belgium – has assessed the safety of new vehicle models using standardised testing procedures. Since 2020, the test protocols have been updated every three years and adapted to new vehicle technologies and the challenges of road traffic.

BMW M2 with M Performance Track Kit sets record time on the Nordschleife

The BMW M2 with M Performance Track Kit completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7:25.068 minutes, making it 0.5 seconds faster than the BMW M2 CS. This record time was made possible by a chassis newly developed specifically for the M2 and an extensive aerodynamic package.

The focus is on the consistent optimisation of the vehicle for trackday use – with components that further sharpen precision, stability and performance on the racetrack. “With the new M Performance Track Kit, we are offering the trackday community uncompromising performance, perfectly tailored to the BMW M2,” says Jonas Krauss, Head of Product Management BMW M Performance Parts.

M Performance Track Kit : motorsport technology for trackdays

The M Performance Track Kit combines road approval with an even sharper setup for trackdays. It is aimed at sporty and ambitious drivers who want to experience and further enhance the dynamic qualities of their BMW M on closed tracks.

The package includes key aerodynamic and chassis components, including an adjustable front splitter, aero flicks, a manually adjustable swan-neck rear wing with a dedicated Race Mode, and a coilover suspension featuring a motorsport damper system with road approval for the first time. The interaction of these components delivers greater precision, stability and performance at the limit – making the BMW M2 even more consistently ready for trackday use.

The components were developed together with the experts at BMW M; the aerodynamics were created in the BMW wind tunnel, while the overall setup was handled by Jörg Weidinger, record-setting driver and BMW M test engineer for chassis development. The result is an already outstanding base vehicle transformed into an even more precise tool for the ideal line.

DTM: Difficult weekend at the Norisring.

Nuremberg. The DTM race weekend at the Norisring in Nuremberg (GER) proved extremely challenging for BMW M Motorsport and Team Schubert Motorsport. Local hero Marco Wittmann (GER) and his teammate Kelvin van der Linde (RSA) struggled with a lack of performance on the street circuit from the very first practice session. In Saturday’s race, van der Linde was also involved in a heavy crash through no fault of his own and did not take the start on Sunday. Wittmann fought his way to a top-ten finish in the second race.

After a difficult first qualifying session, Team Schubert Motorsport experienced further setbacks in Saturday’s race. Wittmann, in the #11 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, suffered a rear-left tyre failure in the fight for positions after turn one and was forced to retire early. A serious accident then caused major concern. Lamborghini driver Maximilian Paul (GER) lost control of his car, became a passenger, and hit van der Linde’s #3 BMW M4 GT3 EVO head-on on the driver’s side in turn one. Both drivers were taken to hospital for examinations afterwards. Van der Linde was given the all-clear, suffering only bruises, however it was decided that the South African would not start on Sunday. According to DTM information, Paul sustained a fracture. BMW M Motorsport wishes him a speedy recovery.

In Sunday’s second qualifying session, 18th on the grid was the best possible result for Wittmann. In the second race, which was briefly interrupted after a heavy rain shower, he managed to fight his way into the top ten and crossed the finish line in tenth place. In the drivers’ standings, Wittmann is now fifth, while van der Linde sits twelfth. In the team standings, Schubert Motorsport dropped to fourth place.

BMW M2 Cup: Another double victory for Schrey.
The new BMW M2 Cup continued its second round as part of the DTM support programme. As in the inaugural event at the Lausitzring (GER), Michael Schrey (GER) proved unbeatable. Driving the #2 BMW M2 Racing for Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport, he converted pole position into victory in both races. The remaining podium places went to Mika König (GER, MK Motorsport) and Christopher Holst (SUI, ME Motorsport) respectively. BMW works driver Jens Klingmann (GER) was also present at the Norisring, supporting the participants on site as a coach and providing valuable advice.

Reactions after the race weekend:

Björn Lellmann (Head of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport): “We came to the Norisring with high expectations as this event is always something special. However, in the DTM we unfortunately lacked the necessary performance from the very beginning with both BMW M4 GT3 EVOs to fight at the front. On top of that, there was the heavy crash on Saturday. We are relieved that Kelvin came out of it largely uninjured – that is the most important thing this weekend. At the same time, we wish Maximilian Paul a speedy recovery. In the BMW M2 Cup we also saw great races here at the Norisring. This street circuit is simply a fantastic stage.”

Torsten Schubert (Team Principal, Schubert Motorsport): “On Sunday we were at least able to score a few points, which was certainly important. Overall, however, it was a disappointing weekend for us. On pure pace we could not have moved further forward, as the conditions are simply not there at the moment. We would have liked to show more performance here, but that was apparently not possible. It was clear to see that we can follow, but we cannot attack at all. Now we are looking ahead and want to try to score more points again at Oschersleben. Kelvin is doing reasonably well. He is still in pain, but hopefully he will be fit again soon.”

Marco Wittmann (#11 Schaeffler BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Race 1: DNF, Race 2: 10th place): “The retirement on Saturday was unfortunate. On Sunday we extracted the maximum and fought our way up from 18th on the grid to tenth. More was not possible, and it is a shame that we have to settle for tenth place. We have not been at the same performance level as the others for four races now. Others can consistently run at the front and score solid points. It is frustrating. On the positive side, the team did a mega job and delivered excellent pit stops again. Even Kelvin’s crew, who unexpectedly had the day off today, supported my side and helped out so a huge thank you goes to the team and of course the fans, the spectators and the support, also all then people from Schaeffler and all partners. That is what always makes the Norisring weekend so special.”

Kelvin van der Linde (#3 Shell BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Race 1: DNF, Race 2: DNS): “I’m just glad that yesterday didn’t end worse. When you see the replays and the images, it could easily have been much more serious. I’m thankful that BMW built such a safe car and effectively saved my life. Unfortunately, this is part of our season so far: another retirement through no fault of my own. We are going through a difficult phase, also in terms of the car’s performance compared to other manufacturers. That is very painful. We give everything every weekend to fight at the front, but at the moment it is not enough. That is obviously very tough for the team. Now we look ahead and try to come back stronger.”

FIM EWC: Historic podium finish at the Suzuka 8 Hours.

Suzuka. BMW Motorrad Motorsport and the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team celebrated a historic achievement as the team secured the first-ever podium finish for a European manufacturer at the Suzuka 8 Hours (JPN) with the #37 BMW M 1000 RR. In extremely challenging conditions, Michael van der Mark (NED), Markus Reiterberger (GER) and Steven Odendaal (RSA) rode to third place. The Japanese endurance classic has been held since 1978, and until the 2026 edition no European brand had ever reached the podium. Among the first to congratulate the team was Markus Flasch, Head of BMW Motorrad, who was on site at Suzuka. The Suzuka 8 Hours marked the third round of the 2026 FIM Endurance World Championship (FIM EWC).

The BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team was also the highest-placed permanent FIM EWC entry. Victory and second place went to all-star line-ups fielded by Honda and Yamaha specifically for this race. In the world championship standings, the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team has therefore continued to close the gap.

The #37 BMW M 1000 RR had already demonstrated its pace in the opening sessions of race week. After the first two qualifying sessions, the trio of van der Mark, Reiterberger and Odendaal held second place. As the traditional Top 10 Trial was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, they retained second place on the starting grid. From there, the BMW factory trio delivered a composed and consistent race in conditions that alternated between heavy rain and a drying track, while the pit crew once again performed flawlessly. The final half hour was run behind the safety car due to excessive standing water on the circuit. After eight hours of racing, the historic result was secured: a podium finish for the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team.

BMW Motorrad Motorsport Official Team Japan, AutoRace Ube Racing Team, also impressed on home soil. Riding the #76 BMW M 1000 RR, Naomichi Uramoto (JPN) and Sylvain Guintoli (FRA) spent much of the race as the leading BMW crew and were on course for a podium finish. However, a penalty dropped them down the order, and they eventually finished fifth. The team’s regular third rider, Hannes Soomer (EST), had suffered a shoulder injury during the private test ahead of the event and was forced to return home early. Christophe Ponsson (FRA) stepped in for him during qualifying.

BMW also celebrated a podium finish in the Superstock class, where Team Étoile claimed second place with the #25 BMW M 1000 RR. Champion-HERT Powered by MRP finished fourth in class with the #38 BMW M 1000 RR.

The 2026 FIM EWC season finale, the 24-hour Bol d’Or, will take place on 19/20th September at Le Castellet (FRA).

The persistent rain during the race changed the picture somewhat. On wet tyres, we were not quite able to maximise our potential in the same way as we could have on slicks. They perfectly represent our team spirit: never give up and always stand together as one team. I was having fun with the bike; the track conditions weren’t changing much, and even when they did, we were really fast. It was nice to be quick and fight for the podium. At the end, the race direction made the right call to bring out the safety car as it had already been quite tricky for a few laps with too much rain. It’s just nice to finish on the podium with my team and with BMW. We’ve been working really hard all winter, and since the day we arrived here all three of us have been very fast. It’s a nice present for the whole team and for BMW to be on the podium at Suzuka.”

Markus Reiterberger, BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team: “Finally we reached the podium in Suzuka. I’ve been here for many years on this bike with this team – finally we did it. Congratulations to the whole team; they deserve it. It’s been a really long and hard road. We hoped for dry conditions because I think we could have done even more, but in the wet it was not so easy for us. The team did an outstanding job, and we’re back in the game for the world championship which is the most important thing.”

Michael Hollick triumphs with one of the most spectacular finishes in the 37-year history of the BMW International Open.

Munich. The 37th BMW International Open at Golfclub München Eichenried concluded with the nerve-racking final round that had been building from the very first day. The total of 58,000 golf fans witnessed not only world-class golf throughout the week, but also an intense four-day battle for one of the most coveted titles on the DP World Tour. In the end, it was South Africa’s Michael Hollick who stepped onto the 18th tee in the final group of the day trailing his compatriot Hennie du Plessis by one stroke, with the tournament outcome in his own hands. To win, the 39-year-old DP World Tour rookie needed an eagle - and he delivered. It was the 57th eagle of the week, meaning the BMW Group, through its EAGLES FOR EDUCATION initiative, will support the Philipp Lahm Foundation for Sport and Education with a donation of €57,000 to help children in the areas of physical activity, healthy nutrition and personal development.

With a total score of 270 strokes (18-under par), Hollick claimed his first victory on the DP World Tour. The runner-up, du Plessis, had also been seeking his maiden title and had appeared on course for victory for much of Sunday. He did not drop a shot until the 17th hole (par 3), but a bogey there, followed by a par on the 18th, left him in second place on 17-under despite posting the best round of the day (-6, 66). Austria’s Bernd Wiesberger finished third on 14-under, followed by Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz and France’s Oihan Guillamoundeguy (both 12-under). One shot further back, Munich native Thomas Rosenmüller completed his home tournament as the best-placed German in sole sixth place.

Of the 13 German players in the field, Freddy Schott (-7, T16), Nicolai von Dellingshausen, Matti Schmid (both -6, T23) and Finn Kölle (-5, T30) also made the weekend. The 23-year-old amateur will not forget the 37th BMW International Open anytime soon, nor will the golf fans who witnessed this memorable tournament week. They will not have to wait as long as usual for the next edition, as the BMW International Open will return from 26 - 30 May next year at Golfclub München Eichenried.

Munich. In a nail-biting finish, Michael Hollick secured the coveted title at the 37th BMW International Open with a spectacular eagle on the last hole, giving him the decisive lead over his compatriot Hennie du Plessis. The South African needed 67 strokes on Sunday on the Championship Course at Golfclub München Eichenried and triumphed with a total score of 270 strokes (18 under par). Thomas Rosenmüller (-11) finished as the best German in sole sixth place. Finn Kölle (GER, -5) was the best amateur, finishing tied for 30th place.

“Four years ago, I had already put my clubs in the cupboard and started coaching. The first year on tour is tough; you’re just trying to earn your card for the next season. Now to win here is incredible. I can’t wait to celebrate this title,” said Hollick, who has now won his first title on the DP World Tour in his rookie season.

Munich. As the winner of the 2026 BMW International Open is about to be decided, the 38th edition of Germany‘ most iconic golf tournament is already on the horizon. Due to a change in the DP World Tour calendar, next year’s BMW International Open will take place from 26 to 30 May 2027 at Golfclub München Eichenried.

Who will tee off in Munich as defending champion in May 2027 will be revealed in the coming hours. All players have now started the final round, and there is still a large leading group from which no one has been able to pull away. The 37th BMW International Open seems to be heading towards a dramatic finale.

Munich. It was a long, loud and spectacular affair. On Saturday, following the third round of the 37th BMW International Open, the 18th green in front of the main stand was transformed into a long-drive arena. In what was now the third edition of “Launch Control”, the 2022 long drive world champion, Martin Borgmeier (GER), and his team took on the squad led by reigning world champion Zack Holton (USA) in an adrenaline-fuelled exhibition match.

The line-up included long-drive specialists Cassandra Meyer and Abby Marting, as well as Bryce Verplank and Bobby “Long Way” Ray (all USA). YouTube star Brad Dalke (USA) also jumped at the chance to take part in this competition, having already made the cut at the 37th BMW International Open with flying colours.
