MINI is celebrating a remarkable debut at the 2026 Rebelle Rally, where driver and MINI enthusiast Felicia Killman along with navigator Erika Ferrer, a member of the BMW Group Corporate Communications team in Mexico, earned a third-place podium finish in the X-Cross class, along with two additional team awards, in the new MINI Countryman Untamed Edition.

In MINI’s first-ever entry in the Rebelle Rally, one of the longest off-road navigation rallies of its kind in the United States, the team demonstrated determination, teamwork, and a fearless spirit while putting MINI’s newest adventure-focused edition to the test across some of the most challenging terrain in the American West.

As an all-women’s competition, the Rebelle Rally celebrates the skill, resilience, and resourcefulness of women in motorsport. Over eight days and more than 1,500 miles of rugged terrain across Nevada, California, and Utah, competitors navigate desert trails, rocky climbs, sand washes, and river crossings using traditional tools rather than GPS. For Killman and Ferrer, the demanding competition presented an opportunity to make MINI history while demonstrating the capabilities of the newly introduced MINI Countryman Untamed Edition.

The team earned three distinguished honors recognizing its competitive performance, rookie achievement, and positive impact on the Rebelle Rally community:

Together, the three awards mark a milestone for Killman and Ferrer and a memorable first appearance for MINI at the Rebelle Rally. While the honors recognize the team and its accomplishments, the competition also provided a demanding real-world proving ground for the MINI Countryman Untamed Edition.

Three Awards. One Unforgettable Team.
Unlike traditional motorsport competitions that reward outright speed, the Rebelle Rally challenges teams to find checkpoints and accumulate points through precise navigation, strategic decision-making, and teamwork. With GPS navigation prohibited, competitors must rely on maps, compass, and a roadbook to chart their routes across more than 1,500 miles of demanding terrain.

The 2026 competition pushed teams to their limits, with temperatures approaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit, powerful storms, rain, river crossings, steep climbs, and challenging sand dunes. In the final stages, wind gusts reaching 50 mph sent blowing sand across the course, creating whiteout conditions and dramatically reducing visibility.

Through it all, Killman and Ferrer persevered, strengthening their partnership and adapting to the challenges of the course. Their third-place finish in the X-Cross class marked a significant achievement in their first Rebelle Rally campaign. The Rookie of the Year honor recognized their impressive debut, while the “Challenge Accepted” Award reflected the respect of fellow competitors and event staff for the team’s attitude, determination, and ability to inspire others.

BMW M Motorsport thanks Philipp Eng for eleven successful years together.

Munich. After eleven successful years, the partnership between BMW M Motorsport and Philipp Eng (AUT) is coming to an end. Both parties have agreed not to renew the works driver contract, which expires at the end of the 2026 season. Eng will be taking on new challenges in the future. In GT racing, the Austrian has celebrated many major successes for BMW M Motorsport – including three overall victories at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL) and a GTLM class victory at the 24 Hours of Daytona (USA). Since 2023, Eng has been a key member of the driver line-up for the BMW M Hybrid V8, in which he has secured two victories .

In 2016, Eng joined BMW M Motorsport as a works driver and made an immediate splash. At the Spa-Francorchamps endurance classic, he triumphed in the ROWE Racing BMW M6 GT3. Two further victories were to follow there in 2018 and 2023. In 2019, Eng won at Daytona in the BMW M8 GTE for BMW M Team RLL. Between 2018 and 2022, the 36-year-old competed in a total of four seasons in the DTM. In 72 races, he secured one victory and five podium finishes. From 2023, Eng, driving the BMW M Hybrid V8, was a key part of BMW M Motorsport’s comeback in the top class of the prototype category. In four seasons in the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Eng secured two victories and five podium finishes – two of them in the current season. In 2025, he finished fourth in the overall standings alongside Dries Vanthoor (BEL).

Eng was already part of the BMW M Motorsport family in his youth. Between 2006 and 2008, he competed in the Formula BMW junior racing series. In 2007, he triumphed at the Formula BMW World Final, for which he was rewarded the following year with a test drive in the BMW Sauber F1 Team’s Formula 1 car.

The first ever battery-electric BMW X5 – raising the bar.
The new BMW iX5 is being launched with the sixth generation of BMW’s eDrive technology. This includes a new powertrain with a completely new high-voltage battery concept and will now be implemented in the new BMW iX5, after having debuted in the BMW iX3.

Known as Gen6, this new development with 800 V technology delivers significantly extended range, faster charging, and bidirectional charging functionality. Alongside updated and highly efficient electric motors, Gen6 includes completely new high-voltage batteries with cylindrical cells. These deliver 20% increased volumetric energy density than their predecessors, the Gen5 prismatic battery cells.

Faster Charging for the iX5 60 xDrive means: up to 460 kW peak DC Charging Power and adding a range of up to 226 miles (363 km) in only 10 minutes (WLTP). Charging the 141 kWh battery pack (net) from 10 to 80 per cent takes just 23 minutes.

Munich. BMW Motorrad is introducing the third generation of the
M Motorsport frame in the BMW M 1000 RR. It combines insights from racing with digital development methods and highly specialised manufacturing processes.

Customers benefit from technologies developed and tested under the extreme demands of racing: the new aluminium frame is lighter and offers a precisely tuned balance of stiffness and flexibility. This enables more precise handling, clearer feedback and more consistent tyre contact – particularly during sporty riding and on the racetrack. From model year 2027, the new M Motorsport frame will be fitted as standard in the BMW M 1000 RR.

The frame is a key performance component for the BMW Motorrad factory teams, customer racing worldwide and the series-production M 1000 RR. Findings gained in competition feed directly into the design of the series-production component: braking, steering and drive forces are transmitted with precision, while the frame provides targeted support for tyre contact at lean. For customers, this transfer of motorsport technology means greater precision when turning in, more transparent motorcycle responses and greater confidence in demanding riding situations. At the same time, the production-based technology provides a high-performance platform for the BMW M 1000 RR across different racing series and circuit conditions.

Compared with the previous version, the third generation of the
M Motorsport frame is around 1.3 kg lighter. The lower weight enhances agility and facilitates rapid changes of direction. Wall thicknesses reduced by up to 30 per cent also enable targeted tuning of the stiffness and flex characteristics. At lean, the frame can flex laterally to a defined degree, supplementing the suspension in absorbing inputs from the road surface. Riders benefit from more consistent tyre contact, improved feedback and more even wear characteristics. Longitudinally, the chassis retains a high level of stiffness to ensure the precise transmission of braking and drive forces and predictable motorcycle response even under high loads.

Digital development. Series-ready production.

Combining lightweight construction, defined flex characteristics and reproducible component quality requires a closely integrated process chain. To achieve this, BMW Motorrad brings together chassis development, simulation and testing in Munich, light-alloy casting expertise in Landshut, and motorsport expertise at the Berlin motorcycle plant. The frame is welded, coated and machined in Berlin. This transforms digital development data into a series-ready high-performance component.

At BMW Motorrad Development in Munich, the geometry, wall thicknesses and stiffness distribution are designed digitally and then validated in simulations, on test rigs and in riding tests. The approved production data form the basis for manufacturing the four cast components – steering head, left and right side sections, and rear section – at BMW Group Plant Landshut.

BMW Group Plant Landshut specialises in lightweight construction and component production within the production network. Four complex, thin-walled aluminium castings for the
M Motorsport frame are produced there using the low-pressure casting process. The process enables controlled mould filling and consistent component quality for demanding geometries.

Thin-walled components. Digitally validated.

In low-pressure casting, molten aluminium is fed into the mould in a controlled manner. This reduces turbulence and air inclusions. Temporary quartz sand cores create the cavities specified by the design. Even before the tooling is manufactured, a core-shooting simulation digitally maps the flow behaviour, packing density and curing of the sand-air mixture. This allows the shooting nozzles and vents to be designed precisely and process reliability to be assured at an early stage.

In the cold-box process, the intricate sand cores are produced, cured and positioned precisely in the casting mould. After casting, the cores are removed, followed by machining and comprehensive quality inspection.

X-ray inspection, wall-thickness measurements and coordinate measurements ensure the internal quality and dimensional accuracy of the components before they are delivered to BMW Group Plant Berlin for further production.

BMW Group Plant Berlin is the lead plant for BMW Motorrad’s international production network. There, the four cast components are positioned with precision and joined to form the frame using TIG welding. Subsequent cathodic dip coating provides uniform corrosion protection – including in enclosed cavities.

During final milling, functional surfaces and mounting points are machined to their final dimensions. A further coordinate measurement confirms the dimensional accuracy of the complete frame before it is approved for assembly in the BMW M 1000 RR.

FIA WEC Barcelona: Difficult Weekend Despite Strong Recovery Drive.

Barcelona. BMW M Team WRT produced a strong recovery drive at the penultimate round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) in Barcelona (ESP). In changeable conditions, Kevin Magnussen (DEN), Dries Vanthoor (BEL) and Raffaele Marciello (SUI) fought their way from 16th on the grid to seventh place in the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8. In the LMGT3 category, BMW M works driver Dan Harper (GBR), alongside Parker Thompson (CAN) and Anthony McIntosh (USA), secured his third podium finish of the season for Team WRT.

Both BMW M Hybrid V8 cars struggled for pace in qualifying. The #20 Shell BMW M Hybrid V8 started the “6 Hours of Barcelona” from 13th place, three positions ahead of its sister car. However, Magnussen quickly worked his way up the field in the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 during the opening stages on the wet track. After receiving a ten-second time penalty for contact with a rival, the Dane handed the car over to Vanthoor in 13th place. On the drying Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the Belgian fought his way up to fifth. After a brief refuelling stop a few laps before the finish, Marciello brought the #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 home in seventh place.

Meanwhile, René Rast (GER), Sheldon van der Linde (RSA) and Robin Frijns (NED) endured a bitter Sunday in Catalonia. Shortly after a Safety Car period during the first hour of the race, the #20 Shell BMW M Hybrid V8 had to pit due to insufficient tyre pressure. The car was subsequently also handed a 20-second time penalty. As a result, the crew dropped well down the order early in the race and eventually finished no higher than 14th.

Ahead of the season finale in Monza, Magnussen and Marciello moved up to third place in the drivers’ standings, with Rast and Frijns tied on points in fourth. BMW M Motorsport retained second place in the manufacturers’ standings and holds a 24-point advantage over third place heading into the final round. However, Toyota secured both the manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles with a one-two finish in Barcelona.

In the LMGT3 category, Harper, Thompson and McIntosh had reason to celebrate. The #69 BMW M4 GT3 EVO charged impressively through the field. Starting from 15th on the grid, Thompson and McIntosh had already brought Team WRT into the podium positions. BMW M works driver Harper brought home third place, securing the team’s third podium of the season. The trio had already finished on the podium in Imola (ITA) and São Paulo (BRA).

The sister car, the #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO driven by BMW M works driver Augusto Farfus (BRA), Sean Gelael (IND) and Darren Leung (GBR), started from sixth place but gradually dropped back due to a series of penalties. Just three weeks after their triumph in Fuji, the trio ultimately had to settle for 12th place in the LMGT3 category.

Andreas Roos (Head of BMW M Motorsport): “Unfortunately, we have had a disappointing weekend in Barcelona. We were already lacking pace with the Hypercar in qualifying. Our plan was to work our way forward in the race through strategy in the difficult weather conditions, which initially worked well. Unfortunately, neither car had a trouble-free race, particularly the #20 Shell BMW M Hybrid V8, with its additional, unplanned pit stop and the penalty. This set us back a long way. The #15 delivered a strong recovery drive and finished in seventh place. Naturally, we had hoped to still be in contention for the title in Monza, but unfortunately, we were unable to score enough points to keep the championship battle alive. Congratulations to Toyota on its well-deserved titles in both championships. The #69 BMW M4 GT3 EVO achieved a top result with third place in difficult conditions, and I am very pleased for the team.”

Vincent Vosse (Team Principal of BMW M Team WRT): “Unfortunately it is not the result we were hoping for. We didn’t have a trouble-free race. The tyre pressure issue cost us a lot on car #20 and put it out of contention. The number 15 had a strong race. But we did not have the ultimate pace. But we scored points and are still third and fourth in the drivers’ championship and second in the manufacturers’ championship. Congratulations to Toyota for the strong effort and the triumph in both championships, they were in another world today. In the drivers’ championship we are still fighting for the second position, but it is going to be tough with one race to go in Monza. In LMGT3, we celebrated a strong podium for the #69, which is always nice but, of course, we were hoping for a better overall result. Unfortunately the #32 had penalties, which dropped them into the mid-pack. A podium is always nice but, of course, we were hoping for more. Let’s see what we can do in Monza.”

Dries Vanthoor (BMW M Team WRT, #15 BMW M Hybrid V8, 7th place): “Obviously, not the weekend we had hoped for. We’ve been struggling throughout the week, with yesterday’s qualifying session being the low point in terms of pace. During the race, we had some good stints as we tried to make our way back through the field, and we managed to get back up to P5. However, we lost pace again towards the end of the race and couldn’t fight with the others, eventually dropping back to P7. Congratulations to Toyota! We had a good battle with them fighting for the manufacturers’ world championship. Looking back at last season, we’ve also made a big step forward, so we have to take some positives away from this, even though we’re disappointed today. At the same time, we can be happy that we were in contention for the world championship until the penultimate race of the season.”

René Rast (BMW M Team WRT, #20 Shell BMW M Hybrid V8, 14th place): “We already noticed during free practice that we were lacking grip and pace. That was confirmed in the race. Unfortunately, our tyre pressure was too low, so we had to pit and were penalised, which put us a lap down. We couldn’t recover from that, and we weren’t fast enough either. All in all, it was a very disappointing weekend, and we have lost the championship to Toyota. But they deserved it; they did a better job than we did. Congratulations.”

Dan Harper (Team WRT, #69 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, 3rd place in LMGT3): “It has been my first time here for FIA WEC. Obviously, I’ve had some experience here in GTWC, but not with Hypercars coming from behind. That was a new challenge, and, obviously, it’s not our strongest track. We had low expectations but, of course, high hopes, and, to be honest, we’ve done the perfect job. Qualifying was difficult, of course. Things just didn’t quite fall into place, so we started further back than we should have. Tony did a mega job in the first two stints under tricky conditions and got us back up to the front. Then Parker and a good strategy brought us right into the fight for the top five. I then jumped in and tried to hold on with everything I had. It was very close and very tricky, especially when it came to managing tyre pressures and energy towards the end, but I’m absolutely delighted to have secured a podium!”

Augusto Farfus (Team WRT, #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, 12th place in LMGT3): “It’s a real shame how the race went today, but, in the end, we gave it our best. We can’t win every weekend. We had a sensational race in Fuji, but we couldn’t repeat that performance here. Nevertheless, we’ll keep fighting and try to finish the season in Monza with a smile.”

Jerez de la Frontera. The season finale of the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) was an emotional occasion for BMW Motorrad Motorsport, marking a heartfelt farewell. Danilo Petrucci (ITA) contested his final races on the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team #9 BMW M 1000 RR in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. On Saturday evening, “Petrux” was honoured by the team and the fans as everyone gathered on the main stage of the WorldSBK Paddock Show to bid an emotional farewell to the popular fan favourite with heartfelt words.

From a sporting perspective, the final race weekend of the 2026 season proved challenging. Miguel Oliveira (POR) had to retire from Saturday’s opening race due to a technical issue. In Sunday morning’s Superpole Race, he crossed the finish line in eleventh place. In Sunday afternoon’s second feature race, Oliveira made it into the top ten. His tenth-place finish earned valuable points, securing third place for BMW in the Manufacturers’ World Championship. In his final WorldSBK races on the BMW M 1000 RR, Petrucci finished 17th, 19th and 20th.

Our task is to consistently translate this performance into results in the future. Miguel Oliveira, ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “We leave Jerez on a positive note, because we tried something today that was very positive for race two. The weekend was already compromised with qualifying issues, and we couldn’t get the bike further up the grid. Not finishing yesterday was also frustrating. But today we improved, and I’m happy with that. I’m also very excited to start winter testing. I can’t wait to get back on the bike and to start working with the crew again for next season. I also want to say thank you to Danilo for all his effort this season. He was a great teammate and a great person, and we’ll definitely miss him.”

Season finale of the GT World Challenge Europe: Team WRT and ROWE Racing secure further titles.

Portimão. The BMW M Motorsport teams secured further titles at the season finale of the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS in Portimão (POR). Team WRT clinched the overall team championship, combining the results from the Sprint and Endurance races, after already securing the Sprint Team Championship two weeks ago. Jens Klingmann, Tim Tramnitz (both GER) and Ugo de Wilde (BEL) are the new drivers champions in the Gold Cup Endurance standings. Their ROWE Racing team won the team title in the Endurance Gold Cup. The final three-hour race also brought another victory and podium finishes in the individual cups.

For Team WRT, it was the #30 BMW M4 GT3 EVO that sealed the team championship title. In a dramatic final race, Matisse Lismont, Amaury Cordeel (both BEL) and Ignacio Montenegro (ARG) crossed the finish line in an excellent fifth place overall, while also celebrating victory in the Silver Cup. The crew in the #30 had already secured the Silver Cup titles in the Sprint, Endurance and combined standings ahead of the finale.

The Gold Cup also delivered plenty of excitement. Klingmann, Tramnitz and de Wilde, who had celebrated class victory in the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL) over the summer with the #998 BMW M4 GT3 EVO run by ROWE Racing, arrived in Portimão leading the cup standings. In the final three-hour race, they went head-to-head with their rivals. In a thrilling closing phase, Klingmann secured second place on the Gold Cup podium and, with it, the much-celebrated title.

There was also a podium finish in the Bronze Cup: the #42 BMW M4 GT3 EVO entered by Oman Racing by Century Motorsport finished third. Ahmad Al Harthy (OMA), Javier Sagrera (ESP) and Calan Williams (AUS) shared driving duties. Behind them, the Paradine Competition #991 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, driven by Darren Leung, James Kellett (both GBR) and Robert de Haan (NED), finished fourth in the Bronze Cup.

The Pro cars, meanwhile, faced a number of challenges in Portimão. The ROWE Racing #98 BMW M4 GT3 EVO eventually finished 22nd overall. Marco Wittmann (GER), Jake Dennis (GBR) and Philipp Eng (AUT) had worked their way up the field after a difficult qualifying session, but dropped back following a puncture. The Team WRT #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO was running sixth after the opening phase when Jordan Pepper (RSA) had to serve a drive-through penalty for causing a collision. Pepper, Charles Weerts (BEL) and Kelvin van der Linde (RSA) fought their way back up the field. However, shortly before the finish, van der Linde suffered the same fate as Eng in the #98: he was hit by a rival, which also resulted in a puncture.

The Team WRT #46 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, driven by Valentino Rossi (ITA), Neil Verhagen (USA) and Max Hesse (GER), suffered a puncture in the early stages. The trio subsequently retired from the race due to a mechanical failure.

Vincent Vosse (Team Principal Team WRT): “I’m thrilled with this 80th title for the team! That’s a great achievement. Our Silver car has played a huge part in making it happen. Huge congratulations to them for an exceptional season, both in sprint and endurance racing. It’s nice to end the season with another title win. We would also have liked to be more successful in this race with our Pro cars, but they experienced some issues so on this side the race was not what we had expected. Congratulations also to our colleagues at ROWE Racing for winning the Gold Cup.”

Hans-Peter Naundorf (Team Principal ROWE Racing): “It was a very exciting race to end the season, with a great result. The drivers and the whole team delivered an outstanding performance. This was our first season competing in the Gold Cup, and we had a clear mission. With Jens Klingmann as mentor, alongside Ugo de Wilde and Tim Tramnitz, we won the season highlight in Spa and have now also secured the overall title. It couldn’t have gone any better. Everyone involved can be very proud.”

Matisse Lismont (#30 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Team WRT, 5th place and 1st place Silver Cup): “I think this was, once again, one of our perfect executions this season. We had a bit of luck on our side too, but this one was very special, especially with P5 overall. I think it realistically shows that we can fight for the overall positions and show our speed and pace. We wanted a Silver victory in Endurance because we hadn’t had one yet, and we achieved that. I’m super proud of everyone. The car was mega every race weekend, our engineers and mechanics did a brilliant job. So, a big thank you to Team WRT for the season, and a big thank you to BMW M Motorsport for the fantastic car.”

Jens Klingmann (#998 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, ROWE Racing, 2nd place and title win Gold Cup): “Our goal for this season was very clear: to win the GT World Challenge Gold Cup and the 24 Hours of Spa. I think we can be really proud that we achieved both. It was an extremely difficult race, with plenty of ups and downs. At one point, I thought we were going to win, then I thought we were going to lose. It was very emotional. We have to say that we weren’t the fastest, but we were the most consistent throughout the year. We made it happen as a team. That’s why I’m very proud of the guys.”

Tim Tramnitz (#998 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, ROWE Racing, 2nd place and title win Gold Cup): “I’m really happy. We achieved our goal for this year. It got very exciting again towards the end, but we made it through cleanly, had solid pace and were perhaps just a little smarter than the others in the end.”

Ugo de Wilde (#998 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, ROWE Racing, 2nd place and title win Gold Cup): “I’m really happy. That was the goal at the beginning of the season. It hasn’t been easy, honestly, and it came down to the final minutes of the race. But I’m really happy that we achieved our goal. It’s been a tough season, but we learned a lot. It was a very nice project together with Jens and Tim, and finishing on a high like this feels great before going into the winter season.”

Marco Wittmann (#98 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, ROWE Racing, 22nd place overall): “I have mixed feelings. We had an incredibly difficult qualifying session and started from P35. Then the team and I did a good job, and at one point we were running sixth or seventh. Unfortunately, contact with another car that hit us from behind resulted in a puncture. That ruined our race, and I think a top-five result would have been possible. Given how qualifying went, that would have been a huge achievement. All the more reason why I’m happy for our sister car, which won the Gold Cup. Congratulations to the whole team!”

Jordan Pepper (#32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Team WRT, 30th place overall): “We have to first look at the positives for the team to get the overall championship. That is a very incredible achievement for them all, and all the hard work from everyone. So for that I’m very proud. Unfortunately, on our side though it was just not the weekend we wanted. We never really managed to get the car where we wanted to. But at least we remained positive going into the race, had a really good start, moved all the way up to sixth position. It was just unfortunately then a mistake from my end, a big apology to everyone – to the team, to my teammates, to BMW. A small mistake that was really minor led to a big consequence, which put us on the back foot. And then from there we were constantly fighting forward, looking likely to be in the points again, which would have been great. But then Kelvin got hit by a Ferrari and we got a puncture. Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn. This year we did both. We had some wins and we learned a lot.”

Max Hesse (#46 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Team WRT, DNF): “We had good potential throughout the season, but somehow we never quite managed to turn it into results. The same happened today: the puncture on the very first lap dropped us back to P60, and we then fought our way through the field to P14. Ultimately, however, we had to retire due to a technical issue, which we now need to analyse. It was also a shame for car number 32. But thanks to the #30 scoring very strongly throughout the year – hats off to the guys – the team was able to win the overall team championship. They definitely deserved it.”

South Korea welcomes the sixth BMW Ladies Championship.

Gwangju/Munich. Golf is hugely popular in South Korea, and many of the country’s golfers have established themselves among the best in the world. As such, there is great anticipation ahead of the sixth edition of the BMW Ladies Championship, which takes place from 22nd to 25th October 2026. The only tournament on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour in South Korea will, as it was last year, be played at Pine Beach Golf Links near Gwangju, in the southwest of the country. The facility allows a spectacular layout, consisting of the front nine holes from the Pine Course and the back nine from the Beach Course, including many holes right on the coast.

Last year’s winner, Sei Young Kim (KOR), is back to defend her title: “Winning the BMW Ladies Championship in my homeland was a wonderful feeling, and one that I hope to repeat. I will do my best, although competition at this event is unbelievably strong. That speaks volumes of the quality of the BMW Ladies Championship, which boasts one of the highest quality fields on the LPGA outside the USA. Whatever happens, I am really looking forward to my home tournament, the South Korean fans, and a week that is truly extraordinary, thanks to BMW.”

The defending champion, currently ranked number nine in the world, will have to overcome a further three top-ten players if she is to successfully defend her title: Haeran Ryu (KOR, No. 3) Hyo Joo Kim (KOR, No. 4) and Lottie Woad (ENG, No. 7). Also teeing off will be Australian Minjee Lee (No. 16), another former BMW Ladies Champion, who won the tournament in 2023.

The only German in the field is Olympic silver medallist Esther Henseleit. The 27-year-old is also excited about the tournament: “I always very much look forward to playing at the BMW Ladies Championship. The organisation, set-up and quality of the tournament are excellent, as we have become accustomed to at BMW golf events for decades. Unfortunately, that is not always the case for us ladies, which makes us appreciate this tournament all the more. As a player, you feel particularly welcome and at home here. Plus, I really enjoy playing in South Korea. The fans are an experience, and with so many Korean players on the Tour, there is a special atmosphere at the BMW Ladies Championship – that all makes it a real pleasure.”

The 68-strong field also includes 15 golfers from the Korean LPGA, who will go up against the best in the world for the full four rounds: there is no cut at the BMW Ladies Championship.

This also means that all players have up to eight attempts to win one of the two Hole-in-One Awards, and with it the joy of all-electric driving. The first player to ace the 13th hole will receive the new BMW i7. The first hole-in-one on the 15th will be rewarded with the first model in the Neue Klasse, the BMW iX3.

In the history of the BMW Ladies Championship, four players have earned a Hole-in-One Vehicle. The first to do so was Kristen Gillman during the inaugural event in 2019. The American hit the first ace of her professional career to win a BMW 740Li XDrive. At the 2022 BMW Ladies Championship, fans celebrated two Hole-in-One Awards being won on the same day: Na Yeon Choi from South Korea won a BMW X7 xDrive40i, while Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn headed home with a BMW 740i. Last year, Lucy Li from the USA won a BMW i7 eDrive50 in the opening round.

The inaugural BMW Ladies Championship took place in 2019 at LPGA International Busan in the southeast of the country, and the same venue hosted the second edition of the event two years later. In 2022, the golfers teed off at Oak Valley Country Club in the north of South Korea. The Seowon Valley Country Club, roughly an hour’s drive from the capital Seoul, hosted the tournament in 2023 and 2024. Since then, the tournament has been played at Pine Beach Golf Links in the southwest of the country. The advantage of changing venue is that the organisers, BMW Group Korea, can present the world-class golfers to the many golf fans all over the country.

The new BMW F 450 RR: A lightweight supersport bike for the 48-hp class—developed for precise handling and an immediate racing feel on winding country roads and the racetrack.
The new BMW F 450 RR for the 48-hp class was developed as a standalone supersport bike within the BMW F 450 model family. The focus was on signature BMW riding pleasure, enabled by supersport-specific chassis and geometry engineering, rigorous weight optimization, and a powerful parallel-twin engine. Its design clearly follows the current design language of the S 1000 RR and visually underscores its dynamic ambitions.

The silhouette consistently translates this ambition into RR design language: the pronounced nose-down, tail-up stance, the signature RR flyline, and the winglets create a powerful forward orientation. Asymmetrical side fairing panels, gills on the right side, and the split face add distinctive accents and underscore the standalone interpretation of
RR DNA. The LED headlight with its signature RR daytime running light design defines the bike’s distinctive appearance.

Smooth and characterful parallel-twin engine with a 135-degree crankpin offset for dynamic riding pleasure.
At the heart of the new BMW F 450 RR is the newly developed fuel-injected parallel-twin engine first used in the F 450 GS, together with a stainless-steel underfloor muffler. For use in the F 450 RR, it has been specifically tuned to meet the requirements of a supersport bike and gives the motorcycle a particularly distinctive sound. With an output of 35 kW (48 hp) at 8,750 rpm and maximum torque of 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm, the new F 450 RR delivers powerful acceleration and confident roll-on performance. As much as 80 percent of the available torque is already on tap at 3,000 rpm, providing strong propulsion from low engine speeds. High-tech materials and optimized internal friction make these performance figures possible from exactly 420 cc. This makes the engine one of the most compact and powerful units in the A2 parallel-twin segment. It not only meets the stringent Euro 5+ requirements, but is also particularly efficient, with fuel consumption of just 3.8 liters per 100 km. With its 14-liter fuel tank, the F 450 RR achieves a range of more than 350 km. The service interval is the BMW Motorrad-standard 10,000 km.

The crankshaft with a 135-degree crankpin offset and a balance shaft combine characterful power delivery with excellent refinement and low vibration. Magnesium covers for the clutch and transmission support weight optimization.

Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) for a significant increase in operating and riding comfort.
The optional Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) engages the clutch according to engine speed, increasing comfort and control—especially in urban traffic, while maneuvering, on winding country roads, and during sporty riding. In combination with Shift Assistant Pro, it enables riding and shifting without manual clutch operation; the clutch lever remains available for deliberate rider input.

For the BMW F 450 RR M Sport, the ERC is available ex-factory as part of the Innovation Package; it can be retrofitted to all other variants as an Original BMW Motorrad Accessory. During overrun, the clutch remains closed, preserving engine braking until shortly before the motorcycle comes to a stop. Only when idle speed is reached does the ERC open automatically, reliably preventing the engine from stalling.

Six-speed transmission and left-side secondary drive. Shift Assistant Pro for fast upshifts and downshifts without operating the clutch.
The six-speed transmission transfers torque to the left-side secondary drive via an X-ring chain. For rapid upshifts and downshifts without operating the clutch, the new F 450 RR is equipped with Shift Assistant Pro in every equipment variant except the base model. It can be retrofitted to the base model.

ABS Pro, DBC, DTC, and MSR, plus the “Rain,” “Road,” and “Race” riding modes as standard—delivering a high level of riding pleasure and safety.
The standard “Rain,” “Road,” and “Race” riding modes allow riders to tailor the new
BMW F 450 RR to their individual preferences. ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and engine drag torque control (MSR) are also standard.

“Turning Towards the Sun” at Zeitz MOCAA: AFMAC exhibition marks the culmination of Julie Mehretu's BMW Art Car project following a series of five inter-continental workshops.

Munich/Cape Town. Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA), the African Film and Media Arts Collective (AFMAC) and BMW present “Turning Towards the Sun” an exhibition bringing together six artists and filmmakers to explore moving image and collective learning practices on the Continent: Ethiopian director Zeresenay Berhane Mehari, French-Senegalese filmmaker Mati Diop, Kenyan multidisciplinary artist Jim Chuchu, Kenyan filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu, African-American poet Robin Coste Lewis, and British interdisciplinary artist collective The Otolith Group. The exhibition will be on view from 11 December 2026 to 15 August 2027 on Level 4 of the Museum.

The catalyst for this continental project and exhibition was Julie Mehretu’s nomination as the artist for the BMW Art Car #20 that will be on display in Zeitz MOCAA’s Atrium Bowl for the duration of the exhibition. Inspired by Arundhati Roy’s 2020 reflection that “the pandemic is a portal”, Mehretu approached this commission as a way of constructing portals into new worlds shaped by Pan-African perspectives and brought to life by the histories and futures of Pan-African cinema.Together with filmmaker Mehret Mandefro and late Executive Director and Chief Curator of Zeitz MOCAA Koyo Kouoh, Mehretu began constructing these gateways through the African Film and Media Arts Collective (AFMAC) and a series of five inter-continental workshops – held in Lagos, Nigeria; Tangier, Morocco; Nairobi, Kenya; Dakar, Senegal; and Cape Town, South Africa – led by artists, including several participating in the exhibition.

Julie Mehretu reflects: “For me, the idea of a portal is about opening up possibilities – creating space to imagine beyond the worlds we have inherited. African cinema holds an extraordinary history of artists using the moving image to document and reimagine their realities. Through AFMAC, we create opportunities for artists to encounter one another, and to explore what could emerge when these histories and perspectives come into conversation.”

Inspired by the ideals of Pan-African solidarity and post-liberation visions, the exhibition presents video installations which look at cultural manifestations of women's rage; the complexities of Black queer masculinities on the Continent; the youth’s experiences of complicated political moments; as well as African cosmo-technics and the expanded field of animation through the literature of Nigerian author Amos Tutuola. The exhibition also includes a history of cultural institutions on the Continent and figures who have championed Africa as a generative site of knowledge production within the field of filmmaking.

Zeitz MOCAA Assistant Curator Khanyi Mawhayi remarks: “The exhibition asks, ‘How do we build sustainable Pan-African social and pedagogical infrastructures between artists and institutions in Africa?’ ‘Turning Towards the Sun’ is an invitation to think expansively about cinema and its related pedagogies; to trace networks of solidarity across Africa and embrace the generosity that emerges when we imagine people as the infrastructure that sustains film and cinema on the Continent.”

The title of the exhibition takes its cue from a quote by Ousmane Sembène in the 1983 documentary Twenty Years of African Cinema (Caméra d’Afrique) by Tunisian filmmaker Ferid Boughedir. When questioned on Europe’s reading of his films, Sembène insists he does not concern himself with European understandings of his films, asserting, “Why should I be like a sunflower turning towards the sun? I, myself, am the sun.” This exhibition recontextualises his statement to propose that attention to filmmaking from Africa and its diaspora represents a turning towards the sun. In this context, the sun is the artistic knowledge and cultural production emerging from the African continent and its global diaspora, namely, the Black geographies that exist and inhabit multiple regions of the world.

“Turning Towards the Sun” forms part of Zeitz MOCAA’s ongoing series of in-depth, research-driven exhibitions that centre and contextualise the practices of significant artists from Africa and its diaspora, while engaging with pivotal themes in Pan-African history. Extending beyond the Continent’s borders, this programme embraces historic and new connections, positioning Africa in a global context and the world within Africa. The exhibition is in partnership with BMW and is part of the African Film and Media Arts Collective (AFMAC) project.

“Turning Towards the Sun” is curated by Zeitz MOCAA Assistant Curator Khanyi Mawhayi, with support from Dr Phokeng Setai and Dr Greer Valley, and assistance from Angela Muritu, Inshaaf Jamodien, Evyn Banawoye and Reem Aljeally. Its geographic scope spans what Koyo Kouoh called the “wider Black geographies of the twenty-first century”.

Munich/Shenyang. The BMW Group has begun series production of its Gen6 high-voltage batteries in Shenyang. Following Debrecen and Irlbach-Straßkirchen, Shenyang is the third location in the new global production network for Gen6 battery technology. The start of production in China marks another important milestone in the technology’s global industrialization. The high-voltage batteries produced locally will form the energy core of future Neue Klasse models built in China.

Gen6 technology delivers substantial customer benefits

The Gen6 high-voltage battery represents a technological leap forward for the all-electric models of the Neue Klasse. Compared with the previous cell generation, the newly developed cylindrical cells offer more than 20 percent higher energy density. Charging speed and range increase by up to 30 percent.

This is made possible by the new cell-to-pack concept: The cylindrical cells are integrated directly into the battery housing, eliminating the conventional module level. This makes more efficient use of the available installation space and allows the high-voltage battery to be integrated flexibly into different vehicle models.

The Energy Master plays a key role. Developed by the BMW Group, this central control unit is located directly on the high-voltage battery and consolidates essential power-supply and battery-management functions.

Global production network for sixth-generation high-voltage batteries

The BMW Group is establishing a global production network for its sixth generation of high-voltage batteries. The batteries are manufactured close to the respective vehicle plants. This shortens transport routes, supports a stable supply and strengthens the resilience of the production network. Following Debrecen, Hungary, and Irlbach-Straßkirchen, Germany, Shenyang is the third location in the global network.

The battery assembly locations in Woodruff, USA, and San Luis Potosí, Mexico, will also begin series production in the coming months. Uniform production, quality and safety standards apply worldwide, while each location contributes its regional manufacturing and supplier expertise.

How the Gen6 high-voltage battery is produced

The battery cells are first inspected and then joined with the cooling units to form cell clusters. After laser cleaning, the cell clusters and cell contact system are precision-welded together. A specialized foaming process bonds the components into a single mechanical unit, contributing to the safety, stability and longevity of the high-voltage battery. The housing is then closed, sealed and riveted. In the final assembly step, the Energy Master is installed before each high-voltage battery undergoes a complete end-of-line test.

Digital processes ensure quality and reliability

Production of Gen6 high-voltage batteries combines high-precision manufacturing processes with end-to-end digital quality assurance. Production data is captured and analyzed throughout the entire process. Digital twins, data analytics and AI-supported inspection methods help detect deviations at an early stage and ensure traceability. Among other parameters, inline inspection systems monitor laser-welded joints in real time. At the end of the assembly process, every high-voltage battery undergoes comprehensive testing for quality, safety and functionality.

In Europe, deliveries rose by around +4.5%, while in the US, the company recorded growth of +3.4%. In the first nine months of the year, the BMW Group delivered more than
1.7 million vehicles to customers worldwide, representing a slight decline in sales (-4.9%).

“In difficult market conditions, we were able to hold our own in Europe and the US. The continued strength in new orders for our fully electric vehicles, in particular, confirms our course. The BMW iX3* is providing positive impetus for growth in the market, and we are also seeing strong customer interest in the new BMW 3 Series and BMW X5,” said Jochen Goller, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands, Sales. “The product momentum generated by our Neue Klasse models and Neue Klasse technologies strengthens our position for the challenges ahead.”

Between July and the end of September 2026, the BMW Group delivered 110,257 fully electric vehicles worldwide (+7.2%). In Europe, one in three BMW Group vehicles delivered to customers during this period was fully electric (34.7%). BEV sales increased here disproportionately to 81,941 units (+37.5%). This also applies to Germany, where the BMW Group’s fully electric models recorded exceptionally high growth (+38.5%).

The BMW brand delivered around 1.5 million vehicles to customers between January and the end of September (-6.4%). In Europe, the BMW brand reported growth of +1.4%. In the US, the BMW brand also increased its sales +4.3%, achieving growth in an overall declining market, driven by higher sales of BMW X models.

In China, the BMW brand’s decline in sales (-21.2% YTD September) reflects the performance of the automotive market as a whole. The rollout of the China version of the new BMW iX3 will get underway there in November. BMW M GmbH delivered 148,510 vehicles (-6.1%) worldwide in the first nine months of 2026, with sales remaining stable in the declining Chinese market.

Since the start of the year, MINI has sold a total of 220,247 vehicles, increasing its deliveries by 6.8%. 37.2% of those vehicles were fully electric. This positive trend was partly driven by the John Cooper Works models and the MINI Paul Smith Edition*. Further impetus is expected from the new MINI Countryman Untamed Edition.

The Rolls-Royce brand delivered 3,592 vehicles to customers between January and September (-12.4%). In the first nine months of the year, BMW Motorrad sold 149,452 motorcycles and scooters to customers (-6.1%).

FIA GT World Cup: Three BMW M4 GT3 EVOs compete on the streets of Macau.

Munich. BMW M Motorsport will compete with three cars this season at the grand finale of the GT3 season, the FIA GT World Cup in Macau (CHN). On 21^st/22^nd November , Teams WRT and KRC, along with the three BMW M works drivers Kelvin van der Linde (RSA), Raffaele Marciello (SUI), and Augusto Farfus (BRA), will battle for victory on the famous Guia Circuit. For van der Linde, it will be his Macau debut as a BMW M works driver .

For the second time overall and for the first time since 2019, Kelvin van der Linde will compete on the streets of Macau. As in the DTM, he will drive a BMW M4 GT3 EVO in the design of Premium Technology Partner Shell, which will be unveiled at a later date. Marciello will be aiming for his third Macau triumph in the second car for Team WRT. He won the main race in both 2019 and 2023. In 2024, he came close to his third victory for BMW M Motorsport. After winning the qualification race, he retired from the main race while fighting for the lead just before the finish. In 2025, Marciello finished second.

Augusto Farfus returns to Macau with Team KRC after a one-year break. The 2018 winner celebrated second place in the main race in 2024.

“These are the weeks of decision in the 2026 motorsport year. Every weekend is about earning the well-deserved reward for an intense season. This time, Turner Motorsport achieved perfection at the Indianapolis 8 Hour with an overall race podium, a class victory, and the title win in the GT World Challenge America. I am very happy for Will Turner and his crew, especially after the disappointing IMSA title showdown the week before, where AutoTechnic Racing celebrated the title in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. I am also absolutely delighted for our NLS title winners, Schubert Motorsport and Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhattan Wheels, as well as Alexandru Vasilescu with the BMW M4 GT4 EVO in the SP10 class. Jens Klingmann has done it again – after a year’s break, he has claimed his third drivers’ title in the Sprint category of the Italian GT. It was fantastic to be on site in Monza and to be able to congratulate him and the team in person. Unfortunately, there were also disappointments. The race weekend in Hockenheim was extremely unlucky. In the DTM, as well as in the ADAC GT Masters and ADAC GT4 Germany, our drivers narrowly missed out on the titles in the final race. Indianapolis 8 Hour (8th-10th October): Pole, podium, class victory and title for Turner Motorsport.

The Indianapolis 8 Hour (USA) last Saturday turned into a triumph for the Turner Motorsport #29 BMW M4 GT3 EVO. BMW M works drivers Robby Foley and Connor De Phillippi, together with Justin Rothberg (all USA), started from pole position and finished third overall, also taking the class win in the Pro Cup. For Foley and Rothberg, this meant the title in the GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. It was the duo’s third consecutive title. After two Pro-Am triumphs, Foley and Rothberg achieved another major success in their debut Pro Cup season. “Wow, we took the class win at Indy – what a race,” said Foley. “On top of that, our third GT World Challenge title in a row and the first in the Pro Cup – I can’t thank the entire Turner Motorsport team and BMW M Motorsport enough. The BMW M4 GT3 EVO was a rocket.” Rothberg added: “I’m incredibly happy about winning the title again. I didn’t really know what to expect when moving up to the Pro Cup. I raced against some great drivers and definitely had to take my driving to another level. I’m still learning a lot. This success means a huge amount to me.”

For Turner Motorsport, the success in Indianapolis was redemption for the disappointment the week before, when the team missed out on both the GTD title in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the GS title in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at the season finale in Road Atlanta (USA). At the Indianapolis 8 Hour, which was the season finale of the GT World Challenge America and the Intercontinental GT Challenge, two other BMW M Motorsport teams competed with the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. Random Vandals Racing and Riley Technologies finished eighth and ninth in the Pro-Am class.

NLS (9th-10th October): Title wins for Schubert Motorsport and Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhattan Wheels.

The Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) season ended on Saturday with numerous title celebrations for BMW M Motorsport teams. Sven Markert, Jannik Fübrich (both GER), and Edoardo Bugane (ITA) secured the overall NLS title with a win in the BMW M240i Racing Cup at the four-hour season finale. The trio from Adrenalin Motorsport Team Mainhattan Wheels entered the race with a four-point lead and clinched the title with a controlled class win in the #650 BMW M240i Racing. It was the eleventh overall victory in a row for a BMW M Motorsport team on the Nordschleife, a streak that began in 2016. Adrenalin Motorsport returned to the top after a one-year break and celebrated its eighth title in nine years. “A perfect race all around and once again a fantastic job from the guys – the car was just a dream on the track,” praised Fübrich. Markert said: “I’m just incredibly relieved. I feel like I have no fingernails left from all the tension. We were able to control the race from the front, but the nerves before the start were huge.” Bugane added: “Anything is possible – today an absolute dream comes true for us!”

Schubert Motorsport also enjoyed a triumphant final race of the season. Tim Tramnitz (GER) and Jordan Pepper (RSA) finished third on the podium in the #77 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, crowning a highly successful season that ended with the NLS Speed Trophy title. “It was a very good comeback year for us on the Nordschleife,” summed up team boss Torsten Schubert. “We started an extensive test programme with our tyre partner Yokohama and celebrated numerous successes during the season. Plus, the fantastic project with the BMW M3 Touring 24H – that was a lot of fun.”

The Gentleman Trophy and SP10 class titles went to Alexandru Vasilescu (ROU) with the AV Racing by BLACK FALCON #177 BMW M4 GT4 EVO. At the season finale, Gamota Racing shone in qualifying, putting both BMW M4 GT3 EVOs on the front row. In the race, they finished sixth and 13th. In total, BMW teams celebrated seven class victories.

Italian GT Sprint Championship (9th-11th October): Jens Klingmann crowned champion.

Jens Klingmann (GER) has done it again: at an exciting final weekend in Monza (ITA), the BMW M works driver with BMW Italia Ceccato Racing was crowned champion in the Italian GT Sprint Championship. Two races were held to conclude the sprint season in the Royal Park. Klingmann shared the cockpit of the #7 BMW M4 GT3 EVO with his BMW M works driver colleague Ugo de Wilde (BEL). In the first race, the duo finished tenth in the Pro category, so everything depended on the final race on Sunday. This began dramatically with a multi-car crash in the first chicane. De Wilde managed to get through the chaos relatively unscathed in car number 7.

Afterwards, the calculations began among the observers. Klingmann’s title rivals, Georgi Dimitrov (GBR) and Simone Riccitelli (ITA), took the lead in their Lamborghini after an early pit stop and were heading for the race win and maximum points. Klingmann was further back in the field, and every position change determined whether he would win the title or not. In the end, he finished seventh in the Pro class – enough points to be celebrated as the champion by his team.

“It was an extremely exciting weekend, and in the end, the result is what counts,” said Klingmann. “We’ve taken our third title in five years, which makes us very proud for BMW M Motorsport, Ceccato Racing, and ourselves as drivers.” Klingmann also reported how close it really was: “In the end, we were tied on points, and the number of wins was also identical. But we had one more second place than our rivals in the Lamborghini, so we secured the championship. It was really a nail-biting finale and the emotional crowning of a breathtaking season with three wins and the third championship title.”

In Saturday’s race, there were also podium honours for the BMW M4 GT3 EVO. BMW M works driver Charles Weerts (BEL) supported Team Spirit Racing in Monza and shared the #23 car with Mathias Villadsen (DEN). The duo finished second overall in the first race. Anthony McIntosh (USA) and Parker Thompson (CAN) took victory in the Pro-Am class in the BMW Italia Ceccato Racing #8 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, but missed out on the title after a retirement on Sunday.

GT4 America (9th-11th October): Sam Craven and Kenton Koch (both USA) are Pro-Am champions in GT4 America! At the finale in Indianapolis (USA), the duo finished second in class in the Random Vandals Racing #94 BMW M4 GT4 EVO in the first race. Fourth place in the category in the second race was enough for the title. In the Am class, Michael Garcia and Alex Garcia (both USA) took victory in the ACI Motorsport #21 car. Munich. With the BMW Concept 7 Protection, BMW is showcasing a new concept for special protection in the luxury sedan segment. The concept vehicle is designed for private and corporate customers as well as organisations who are looking for adequate protection for their risk profile without compromising on discretion, comfort, and BMW’s signature driving dynamics. In addition to the BMW 7 Series Protection (protection level VR9, VPAM 10 as an option), BMW X5 Protection VR6, and locally produced vehicles with lower protection levels, the BMW Concept 7 Protection expands the extensive offering of protection vehicles.

Differentiated protection concepts for different risk profiles .
Both the actual and perceived threat levels have increased in recent years. At the same time, different customer groups are becoming more aware of reliable protection solutions with transparent certification. BMW is addressing this development with a differentiated product approach: clearly defined scopes of protection, testing in line with defined standards, and full certification for the complete vehicle.

The BMW Concept 7 Protection applies this requirement to a vehicle in which discretion, everyday usability, and the qualities of a BMW luxury sedan are particularly in focus. The lower scope of protection compared with the high-security vehicle represents a systematic focus on a different mission profile.

Superior protection with the signature BMW 7 Series sedan character.
The BMW Concept 7 Protection retains the character of a BMW 7 Series sedan. Generous space, premium materials, first-class craftsmanship, and exceptional

comfort over long distances create an exclusive environment for drivers and passengers. The protection features are discreetly integrated into the vehicle and preserve the prestigious appearance of the luxury sedan.

The concept vehicle is based on technology from the BMW M760e xDrive. Its plug-in hybrid system combines a 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line petrol engine with an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed Steptronic transmission and the intelligent all-wheel drive BMW xDrive. The BMW M760e xDrive’s drive system generates a combined output of 450 kW/612 hp and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The combustion engine achieves 313 kW/426 hp, while the electric motor reaches 145 kW/197 hp.

In the interior, clear, minimalist design language meets carefully selected materials and precision craftmanship. Smoke White BMW Individual Merino Leather, interior trims in Alcantara, and the BMW M Anthracite Alcantara headlining lend the presented vehicle an exclusive and inviting ambience. Sun protection glazing and electronically operated sunblinds enhance passenger privacy. The digital interior mirror enhances visibility to the rear.

In particular, the rear of the BMW Concept 7 Protection highlights its qualities as a private retreat. This is where BMW is showcasing the BMW Individual rear console with foldable table and cool box for the very first time. Its fold-down table, which includes a wireless charging tray, makes it easier to concentrate on work. The BMW 7 Series vehicles will be available with the rear console during the second half of 2027.

Holistic tuning for a series-like driving experience.
Chassis, brakes, drive, and driver assistance systems as part of the complete vehicle are calibrated for the additional protection features. This integrated approach enables a familiar, series-like driving experience. The concept combines certified protection with the comfort, exclusivity, and signature BMW driving dynamics of the 7 Series.

Protection scope consistently tailored to individual security requirements .
The protection features include transparent and selected opaque sections of the passenger compartment. The bulletproof glass is substantially thicker than that of the comparable series vehicle. In the doors, precisely integrated protective elements of various types of ballistic steel and fiber-reinforced composites enhance the protection. They incorporate the overlaps between the doors, glazing, and bodywork into the overall protection concept. The rear triangular windows feature additional armor protection and are discreetly concealed on the interior side. In the roof area, an additional layer of protection composed of steel and fibre-reinforced composites lies beneath the standard panoramic glass sunroof. This layer seals off the upper section of the passenger compartment, while the glass sunroof maintains the exterior appearance of the production vehicle. For this reason, the sunblind for the panoramic glass sunroof remains permanently closed. The bulkhead and rear wall are also fully integrated into the ballistic protection concept.

The BMW Concept 7 Protection complies with the new BayB standard. It is designed to provide protection against selected, particularly common handgun ammunition, such as 9×19 mm and .44 Magnum. The protection concept is designed to address everyday, situational, or highly unpredictable risks. These include violent attacks, attacks during road travel, or hazardous situations while travelling and in regions with uncertain security situations.

Needing blast protection requires an extended scope of protection, which is delivered by vehicles offering a higher protection level.

Specific protection features seamlessly integrated.
An intercom system enables communication with persons outside the vehicle while doors and windows remain closed. The system uses exterior and interior microphones and loudspeakers. This is supplemented by an attack alarm system, which triggers visual and audible alerts. The front and rear side windows can still be operated electronically, but they cannot be fully opened.

Leveraging more than 45 years of experience, BMW is developing and producing certified protection vehicles for a variety of user profiles. The BMW Concept 7 Protection offers protection from defined attack scenarios with handguns. As a high-security vehicle, the BMW 7 Series Protection offers significantly higher levels of protection in line with protection level VR9, with VPAM 10 available as an option.

BMW M 1000 RR back in the fight for WorldSBK podiums.

Estoril. Just 0.1 seconds – the blink of an eye – separated them from the podium: the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team and Miguel Oliveira (POR) made the expected step forward. At his home round at Estoril (POR), Oliveira was in the fight for the podium on his #88 BMW M 1000 RR. Cheered on by more than 36,000 fans, the Portuguese rider took two fourth-place finishes, making it his second-best race weekend in the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK), behind the event in Portimão (POR), where he stood on the podium three times.

For Oliveira, who comes from the area near Estoril, the event began with a special tribute on Thursday. Following a fan event in nearby Sintra, he led a convoy of more than 1,000 motorcycles back to the Circuito Estoril. There, in a special ceremony, Turn 7 was named after the local hero. It is now known as the “Miguel Oliveira Corner”.

Oliveira got his sporting weekend off to a strong start with fourth place in Friday’s practice sessions. In Saturday morning’s Superpole qualifying, he secured fifth place on the grid. He made the most of this strong starting position in Saturday afternoon’s opening main race, finishing an impressive fourth.

In Sunday morning’s Superpole Race, Oliveira stormed into the top three with an outstanding start and fought for the podium right up to the final corner. In the end, he missed out by just 0.1 seconds, once again finishing fourth. This result earned him one place on the grid for Sunday afternoon’s second main race. The race proved eventful for the Portuguese rider. On the second lap, he ran wide and initially dropped back to 12th place. Numerous battles and overtaking manoeuvres followed before he eventually crossed the finish line in eighth place.

His team-mate Danilo Petrucci (ITA) started all three races on his #9 BMW M 1000 RR from 14th on the grid. However, he struggled to make up ground, finishing 18th once and 16th twice.

Estoril hosted the 11th and penultimate round of the 2026 WorldSBK season. The season finale will take place as early as next weekend (16th to 18th October) in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

Miguel was very close to the leading times in all sessions, secured a strong starting position with an impressive qualifying performance and confirmed the bike’s podium potential in the races. The technical changes introduced since Magny-Cours, combined with Miguel’s mental strength, delivered some great races. In the end, we were just one tenth of a second short of third place in both qualifying and the sprint race, while in race one the gap was only 1.7 seconds. Miguel can now pick up right where he left off before his injury in Hungary. My special thanks go to my team in Munich, who have never stopped working to improve the bike, despite a challenging season.”

Miguel Oliveira, ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “The big pre-event with this many bikes was a great start to my home round and I am honoured that a corner at Estoril has been given my name. The weekend was one of the best we’ve had since Portimão. It was very solid: good results and a good qualifying. It hurts a little bit not to have finished on the podium in the Superpole Race, and race two, for sure, didn’t go our way. I’m a little bit angry about that, but we took some steps with the bike. Now I’m looking forward to Jerez.”

Danilo Petrucci, ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team: “Estoril has been quite tough. I didn’t expect to suffer so much in the races. In qualifying, it wasn’t that bad. I made a small mistake, but we were quite close to the top ten. Unfortunately, in race one I had to avoid another rider, and went straight on. Then today we decided to do some tests to understand which direction we wanted to go. Unfortunately, some changes didn’t work as planned. Still, we have some ideas for Jerez for my last race. I really want to finish the season in a strong way.”

DTM finale: Marco Wittmann rounds off a superb season with a podium finish and third place in the overall standings.

Hockenheim. Marco Wittmann (GER) has finished a superb 2026 DTM season in third place overall. At the finale in Hockenheim (GER), he fought with everything he had in the #11 Schaeffler BMW M4 GT3 EVO right up to the end, but ultimately lacked the necessary pace compared to his rivals. Wittmann celebrated two victories and five further podium finishes in 16 races, one of them in Saturday’s race at Hockenheim. The title was claimed by Thomas Preining (AUT, Porsche). In the team standings, Schubert Motorsport finished third.

It was not to be: even Wittmann’s formidable fighting spirit was not enough to secure his chance of a third drivers’ title at Hockenheim. The pace of the BMW M4 GT3 EVO was good enough for third and seventh places in the two races, but the ‘Green Machine’ was unable to hold its own against the new champion Preining and runner-up Maro Engel (GER, Mercedes). Despite the disappointment at missing out on the title, Wittmann can look back on one of his strongest DTM seasons. He won at the Nürburgring and the Sachsenring (both GER) and also secured one second and four third places. He finished the season on 198 points.

Kelvin van der Linde (RSA) was unable to shake off the bad luck that had dogged him for much of the season, even during the final weekend. He finished sixth in Saturday’s race, while in the second race he dropped back to 18th place due to an early collision and problems during the pit stops. He finished his first DTM season as a BMW M works driver with one victory and 96 points, ending 14th in the drivers’ standings. In the teams’ standings, Schubert Motorsport took third place with 284 points.

ADAC BMW M2 Cup: Title win for Michael Schrey.
The debut season of the ADAC BMW M2 Cup concluded at Hockenheim with Michael Schrey and the Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport team clinching the title. Although Schrey missed out on a podium finish at the final weekend, his seven victories in eight races prior to that had given him a comfortable lead in the drivers’ championship. Victories in the final two races went to Farin Megger (Riller & Schnauck powered by Cerny Motorsport) and Schrey’s team-mate Niklas Hirsch (both GER). Team ME Motorsport’s Christopher Holst (SUI) was crowned Rookie Champion.

FK Performance Motorsport goes unrewarded for strong seasons.
FK Performance Motorsport had an unfortunate weekend. In both the ADAC GT Masters and the ADAC GT4 Germany, the team fought for the drivers’ titles right up to the final race following strong seasons, but came away empty-handed on both occasions. In the ADAC GT Masters, sixth and second places for Tim Zimmermann (GER) and Leyton Fourie (RSA) in the #11 BMW M4 GT3 EVO were not enough to defend their narrow lead in the overall standings. The duo ultimately finished in second place. In the team standings, however, FK Performance Motorsport were delighted to clinch the title.

In the ADAC GT4 Germany, Benjamin Sylvestersson (FIN) and Gabriele Piana (ITA) fell four points short of the title in the end. The pair secured a win, a third place and a fourth place in the three races over the final weekend in the #51 BMW M4 GT4 EVO.

That’s a great pity. Despite everything, Marco Wittmann drove two brilliant races and – as so often this season – got the very best, or even more, out of our potential. So we’ve at least secured third place in both overall standings. We’d set our sights higher, but unfortunately that wasn’t possible. Kelvin van der Linde was unfortunately set back early on today by a collision and couldn’t make his way back up the field. Even though we’re disappointed at the moment, we’ll be back on the attack next season.”

Marco Wittmann (#11 Schaeffler BMW M4 GT3 EVO, Race 1: 3rd place, Race 2: 7th place): “When you’re still in with a chance of winning the title going into the final round, but then don’t have the tools to fight at the very front on the decisive weekend, it’s naturally disappointing. Nevertheless, third place in the overall standings is a good result when you consider where we’ve come from this season. I’m proud of my team and of our performances this season. Congratulations to Thomas Preining and Porsche on winning the title. They were very consistent and didn’t make any mistakes here at Hockenheim. They certainly deserve the title.”

Six generations of high-performance sports cars
for the premium midsize class. (Introduction)

It was not the first model in the history of BMW M GmbH; that honour goes to the BMW M1 small-series, mid-engined sports car. But for the past 40 years now, the BMW M3 and its inimitable skillset have served as the archetype of a BMW M car for fans around the world. Agility, dynamism and driving pleasure of the highest order are as much a part of a BMW M3 as striking looks. And it is all backed up by a regular supply of standout victories in race competition. Below we look at some of the key chapters in this story of success:

Starting out in style – on the road and the race track.
The original BMW M3 made its first official appearance at the IAA motor show in Frankfurt am Main in 1985. The vital statistics of the new car: its 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine with four-valve technology, output of 147 kW/200 hp and a vehicle weight of 1,200 kilograms. The distinctively styled two-door accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 235 km/h (146 mph). A soft-top version was added to the line-up later. The first generation of the BMW M3 attained legendary status on the track, racking up a scarcely believable collection of race wins all over the world, including victories in the German DTM touring car series (then known as the “Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft”), the World Touring Car Championship and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.

New additions to the model family.
Where the first BMW M3 exuded the excitement of youthful sportiness, the second generation launched in 1992 was a much more grown-up proposition. The two-door coupé cut an elegant figure from the outside and was powered for the first time by a six-cylinder engine. The model range was growing, and a four-door sedan soon made its debut alongside the coupé and convertible. From 1996, the BMW M3 could also be specified as an option with the Sequential M Gearbox (SMG).

Special edition with a legendary name.
The third generation of the BMW M3 made a powerful impression. Arriving in the year 2000, it captured the imagination with its power dome, flared wheel arches and dual-branch exhaust system. And a 3.2-litre six-cylinder in-line engine developing 252 kW/343 hp delivered onthe car’s visual promise. The special-edition BMW M3 CSL then raised the bar further still with increased power and additional weight savings. Producing 265 kW/360 hp, it could sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds. On the track, the BMW M3 GTR celebrated numerous victories in the ALMS series in the US, and also won the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring on two occasions.

The BMW M3 DTM makes motor sport history.
A naturally aspirated V8 engine went to work in the fourth-generation BMW M3 launched in 2007. The high-revving 4-litre engine delivered 309 kW/420 hp and accelerated the BMW M3 Coupé from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in a rapid 4.8 seconds. In 2012, BMW returned to the DTM (now standing for “Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters”) race series after an absence of 20 years with the new BMW M3 DTM. The comeback was a triumph: Bruno Spengler was crowned the drivers’ champion, BMW Team Schnitzer topped the teams’ standings and BMW won the manufacturers’ title.

Higher output and torque, lower fuel consumption.
When the fifth model generation was introduced in 2014, only the four-door sedan variant carried the BMW M3 badge. And change was also afoot under the bonnet, a completely newly developed, high-revving straight six with M TwinPower Turbo technology taking the place of the previous V8. The result was more power and torque than the predecessor model, yet also 25 per cent lower fuel consumption and emissions. The BMW M3 Sedan with Competition Package – producing 331 kW/450 hp – set a new fastest time for the BMW M3 over the 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint: 4.0 seconds.

Long anticipated by fans: the BMW M3 Touring.
The sixth-generation car has built on the fabled lineage of the BMW M3 with great success since it joined the fray in 2020. The six-cylinder in-line engine is still present and correct, in 2021 the intelligent all-wheel-drive system M xDrive made its BMW M3 debut, and in 2022 the new BMW M3 Touring added another new body variant to the line-up. The limited-run BMW M3 CS is the fastest series-produced BMW M3 yet, the sedan sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds and posting an electronically limited top speed of 302 km/h (188 mph).

The new BMW iX4

Mike Reichelt, Head of Neue Klasse, BMW Compact and Midsize Class, explains: “With the new fully electric BMW iX4, we are expanding the Neue Klasse portfolio with a particularly emotional vehicle. Its striking proportions, elegant coupé silhouette and Neue Klasse technologies combine to create a truly distinctive character. Blending sportiness, expressive design and innovative technology, the BMW iX4 sets a bold new accent within our fully electric BMW portfolio.”

Two drive system variants of the BMW iX4 will be available at launch in March 2027. These will be followed shortly afterwards by the range-topping model, the extremely powerful BMW iX4 M60 xDrive. Like all the BMW iX4 variants, the flagship model has one electric motor at the front axle and one at the rear. In the BMW iX4 M60 xDrive they team up to produce maximum output of 450 kW/612 hp¹and 875 Nm (645 lb-ft) of torque¹.

Elegantly sporting silhouette, distinctive rear-end design.
The sporty roofline of the BMW iX4 links up with its long wheelbase and short overhangs to create its coupé-like silhouette. The front end displays the eye-catching Neue Klasse face. The BMW kidneys and twin headlights – both design icons – merge into a single graphic unit. Together, they serve up an interplay of geometry and light. Elements of the new BMW M design language shape the front end of the flagship BMW iX4 M60 xDrive, while the racing-car-inspired M Yellow Lights maximise the car’s visual presence.

The distinctive rear-end design provides the new BMW iX4 with an extrovert identifying feature. Precise lines and clearly sculpted surfaces accentuate the expressive character of the SUV coupé. The pronounced rear spoiler with integral brake light enhances aerodynamics and exudes sporting potency. The BMW iX4 M60 xDrive comes with a special M rear spoiler.

Slim, horizontally arranged rear lights give the new BMW iX4 an aura of poise and assurance. With two light elements on either side, they form an abstract take on the L shape familiar from previous BMW lights and integrate seamlessly into the tailgate. Together, the distinctive, reduced rear light signature and black diffuser accentuate the muscular rear looks of the new BMW iX4 M60 xDrive.

M Sport package included as standard.
Alongside its special design elements, the standard M Sport package for the new BMW iX4 features 20-inch M light-alloy wheels and M Sport brakes with blue callipers. Standard specification for the BMW iX4 M60 xDrive includes 21-inch light-alloy wheels. Added to which, all BMW iX4 models can be ordered as an option with light-alloy wheels up to 22 inches in size; one of these rim variants is reserved exclusively for the M Performance model.

BMW Iconic Glow exterior package with adaptive light functions.
The BMW Iconic Glow exterior package includes adaptive light functions – such as BMW Selective Beam non-dazzling high-beam assistant and Adaptive Headlights – which enhance both safety and comfort. The BMW Iconic Glow exterior package is part of standard specification for the new BMW iX4 M60 xDrive and available as an option for all other model variants.

The BMW iX4 M60 xDrive also comes with black BMW kidney M Shadowline trim. This is joined by distinctive light signatures at the front and rear, ensuring that the car cuts an unmistakable figure in the hours of darkness too.

Another design highlight of the new BMW iX4 is the large-surface panoramic sunroof with climate comfort glazing, which is part of standard specification and bathes the interior in light. When the order books open, customers can choose from an initial selection of nine exterior colour shades for their BMW iX4. These will be joined from March 2027 by another trio of Frozen paint finishes and later on by numerous additional colours from the BMW Individual range.

Light-flooded interior with generous levels of space.
The interior of the new BMW iX4 gives customers a particularly vivid introduction to the reduced Neue Klasse design. The instrument panel makes a particularly sporty and elegant statement with its clear lines and high-quality materials.

The interior is bathed in light thanks to the large window surfaces and panoramic sunroof. The new BMW iX4 utilises the benefits of the Neue Klasse vehicle architecture, which was purpose-developed for electric models and offers generous levels of space. This includes excellent legroom and ample headroom, both of which are accommodated neatly by the elegant roofline of the SUV coupé.

Customers can choose from seven different interiors. These feature a precisely coordinated combination of materials and colours and emphasise the character of the new BMW iX4 to stunning effect.

Driver orientation elevated to a new level.
The new BMW iX4 offers a whole new experience of BMW-typical driver orientation, ensuring the driver is always given the right information in the right place at the right time.

BMW Panoramic iDrive with BMW Operating System X creates an all-encompassing display and operating system bringing together four central elements: the BMW Panoramic Vision, BMW 3D Head-Up Display, 17.9-inch Central Display and standard-fit sports steering wheel with a central spoke in its upper section and shy-tech controls. Standard equipment for the BMW iX4 M60 xDrive includes the M Sport steering wheel in a version specific to this model. Setting it apart from the steering wheel available as an option for all other BMW iX4 models are features such as a marker in the 12 o’clock position and shift paddles.

The My Modes offer customers a multitude of ways to customise their car’s sound, light, displays and drive system. BMW Digital Premium brings various M-specific in-car apps to all variants of the BMW iX4. These provide access to driving dynamics data, technical vehicle signals and additional media content.

The BMW iX4 M60 xDrive has M-specific displays, including the Powermeter, which shows information such as the power currently being deployed and the reserves still available.

BMW iX4 M60 xDrive with M Sport seats as standard.
The BMW iX4 M60 xDrive has M Sport seats with ten-way electric adjustment as standard. The M Sport seats can also be ordered as an option for the other model variants, as can the multifunction seats.

The elegantly sporty seats fitted as standard in the new BMW iX4 offer excellent comfort and secure lateral support. They come with electric adjustment, a memory function and the Travel & Comfort System. The rear seat backrest of the BMW iX4 splits 40:20:40. Seat heating can be specified for the rear seats as an option.

The new BMW iX4 is fitted as standard with a hi-fi system with seven speakers and a system output of 205 watts. The BMW iX4 M60 xDrive has the Harman Kardon hi-fi system with 13 speakers and 430 watts as standard. It enables use of Dolby Atmos and can be ordered as an option for all other models.

New BMW iX4 launches with two drive system variants.
The fundamentally new sixth-generation (Gen6) BMW eDrive technology is a standout innovation of the Neue Klasse and a defining component of the new BMW iX4.

Playing an essential role in this technological leap forward are all-new high-voltage batteries with cylindrical cells, 800V technology and further developed, highly efficient electric motors. Gen6 brings the BMW iX4 even more dynamic performance, up to 400 kW DC charging, significantly higher range figures than models with Gen5 and bidirectional charging functionality.

Two drive system variants will initially be available for the new BMW iX4 from the start of orders. The BMW iX4 50 xDrive has one electric motor at the front axle and one at the rear axle, which work together to generate maximum output of 345 kW/469 hp and peak torque of 645 Nm (475 lb-ft). The sporty SUV coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph). Its high-voltage battery has a usable energy content of 108.7 kWh.

It offers an outstanding range of up to 828 kilometres (514 miles)². The maximum charging rate of the new BMW iX4 50 xDrive is 400 kW, which means enough energy can be added in ten minutes of charging for another 387 kilometres (240 miles) of range³.

The BMW iX4 40 xDrive also has one electric motor on each axle. Together, they produce maximum output of 275 kW/374 hp and peak torque of 520 Nm (383 lb-ft). The BMW iX4 40 xDrive needs 5.6 seconds for the sprint from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph). Its maximum range is 638 kilometres (396 miles)².

Setting new standards: the BMW iX4 M60 xDrive.
Shortly after the order books open for its two sister models, the range-topping BMW iX4 M60 xDrive will join the line-up: it can be ordered from January 2027. The M Performance model has an M-specific all-wheel-drive application and serves up smile-inducing performance. The status of the new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive as a performance car is clear at first glance. Elements of the new BMW M design language shape the front end and maximise its visual presence. A clear identifying feature here is the new M Yellow Lights, with their focused gaze on the road. These light icons have their origins in motor sport, with racing cars like the BMW M Hybrid V8 providing the aesthetic inspiration. The M Yellow Lights can only be used in combination with the low-beam headlights (depending on the market).

Progressively designed light elements positioned to the left and right of the BMW kidneys are another feature of the BMW iX3 M60 xDrive. Each consists of three striking elements inspired by the familiar BMW M stripes and each serves as a connecting component within the light signature. At the same time, these light elements underscore the unique character of the front end. The M logo is also part of the light signature.

Standard specification for the new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive includes both M Sport exterior items and the BMW Iconic Glow exterior package. The latter intensifies the sense of visual depth created by the iconic BMW kidneys, with precise contour lighting underscoring the car’s attractive appearance. Meanwhile, the aerodynamically optimised M mirror caps fitted as standard highlight the car’s pronounced sporting appeal and have a striped design in M colours against their black background. While the range-topping BMW iX3 variant is fitted as standard with 21-inch M light-alloy wheels, items up to 22 inches in size can be found on the options list. Specially developed 21-inch sport tyres can be specified as an option and 22-inch M aerodynamic wheels are available exclusively for the new M Performance model.

Athletic shoulders and a deeply inset glasshouse shape the rear view of the new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive. The pronounced wheel arches emphasise the car’s width and its dynamic character even when it is standing still. The black diffuser reinforces the extrovert looks of the M Performance model, as do the rear lights with their distinctive light signature. An “M60” badge – presented in the new M design with black lettering and silver surround – can be found at the rear. The BMW Panoramic Vision – like the optional BMW 3D Head-Up Display – projects driving-relevant information into the driver’s line of sight. With its Gen6 M eDrive technology, it gets the maximum out of every journey, the two electric motors infusing the SUV with power and precision. The sixth-generation (Gen6) electric drive system represents a technological leap forward. It offers significantly higher range figures than the previous generation, faster charging, 800V technology and bidirectional charging functionality. As well as the further developed, highly efficient electric motors, the technology underpinning these capabilities also includes the all-new high-voltage batteries with cylindrical cells.
