MINI New Zealand has just launched a new online configurator that encourages everyone to don their favourite turtleneck and horn-rimmed glasses to get creative configuring their favourite MINI.

The iconic British marque has long been famous for offering millions of exterior and interior combinations across paint, roof finishes, side mirror finishes, trim and upholstery; as fans ticked boxes for their favourite options, prices would often increase beyond the initial budget.

The new MINI configurator promises an end to the disappointment, with grouped packages that curate choices for equipment, paint, striping, roof colours, upholsteries and trims into themes that correspond with recognisable MINI ‘characters’, streamlining options against a single price.

Grouping options within a fixed price bracket means MINI fans get better value with each ‘character’ chosen; the freedom of selecting options within each group enhances personalisation so central to the fun-loving marque without the need for fans to worry about price hikes with every box ticked.

MINI fans simply choose the model they are interested in, pick an engine variant, and finally a MINI ‘character’ that describes them best. All in all, hundreds of combinations are available on a single model variant, so that everyone can design the MINI that describes them best.

Long-time MINI fans will adore the ‘Classic’ Tier present across all MINI models – these are crowd-favourite body, bonnet stripe, roof, side mirror cap and wheel combos that deliver the most iconic MINI look. When paired with a high level of standard equipment at a value-added price, these classics will exude timeless appeal.

For those that desire fancier frills, the ‘MINI Yours’ Tier available on most models sees to multiple interior worlds with different trim pairings, immersive sound quality and extended in-car tech; plusher upholstery in a variety of colours gives way to soothing ambient interior lighting, creating a MINI fit for a king or queen.

Finally, MINI hasn’t forgotten the legions of racers amongst its faithful – and for these performance junkies, the ‘John Cooper Works Sport’ Tier found in more powerful Cooper S variants add even more sporty equipment to satisfy the most hardcore performance fans.

Top-of-the-line John Cooper Works variants across the MINI range also feature a unique ‘Pure’ variant; these have now been renamed ‘Essential’, paring back on luxury frills to give JCW fans maximum go-kart thrills instead.

The new MINI Configurator also reveals a refreshed product offer for the MINI Clubman and Countryman. An example of the new ‘Character’ configurator structure for the MINI Cooper S Countryman is demonstrated with the equipment frames below:

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
