As part of its ongoing commitment to investing in sustainable communities, BMW Group South Africa last week hosted a charity auction with its car audio system partner, Bang & Olufsen. The auction included various streaming devices and headphones offered by Bang & Olufsen. The proceeds (R343, 200) will be donated to Soshanguve Technical High School, which is part of BMW Group South Africa’s corporate social investment programme.
The new BMW X5 M and new BMW X6 M see BMW M GmbH setting the pace once again in the high-performance Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) segment. When the previous generation of the two cars arrived in 2009, it was the first time the high-performance character distilled by BMW M GmbH had been transplanted into an all-wheel-drive BMW X model. The result was class-leading dynamics.
Armed with an even more potent design presence and outstanding performance, the new BMW X6 strengthens its position as a leading exponent of exclusive driving pleasure. The second generation of the Sports Activity Coupe, which has already posted global sales of almost 250,000, enjoys a special status among BMW X model rivals thanks to its irresistible allure, intoxicating performance attributes and innovative luxury.
It all started with an X. This letter was first used as a model designation for a BMW automobile as early as in the mid-1980s to indicate that it featured four-wheel drive technology. The car’s dual symmetry was the ideal allegory for the transmission of drive torque to all four wheels. 15 years ago, the letter X became the symbol of an entirely new vehicle category and, at the same time, of a very special form of driving pleasure.
