The class-leading S 1000 RR – BMW Motorrad’s first ever supersports machine – has taken two highly prestigious MCN Awards: ‘Machine of the Year’ and ‘Sportsbike over 751cc’. BMW’s R 1200 RT, the best-selling touring motorcycle in the UK, won the ‘Tourer of the Year’ award.

Munich. Staff and fans of BMW Motorrad are looking forward to the introductory race of the Superbike World Championship in Phillip Island, Australia on March 1st 2009. Two BMW motorcycles will be in the starting line-up for the first time. The racing bikes will be fairly close to serial production models, the production of which is getting underway: the BMW S 1000 RR.
