As previously announced, Maximilian Schöberl (43) will take over as Head of Corporate Affairs for the BMW Group September 1, 2006, responsible worldwide for the company's communication and policy activities and will report to the new Chairman of the Board of Management, Dr. Norbert Reithofer.

Munich. As previously announced, Maximilian Schöberl (43) will take over as
Head of Corporate Affairs for the BMW Group September 1, 2006, responsible
worldwide for the company's communication and policy activities and will report
to the new Chairman of the Board of Management, Dr. Norbert Reithofer.
Schöberl succeeds Richard Gaul, who will retire at the end of the year. Gaul
will work on tasks in the area of Corporate Affairs until then.
Most recently, Schöberl - who has been familiarizing himself with his new area
of work at the BMW Group since the beginning of April - was head of Corporate
Communications and Policy at Vodafone Germany. Previously, he was part of the
management of the Kirch Group, after being in charge of the press and publicity
work for the German party CSU for six years.
Richard Gaul has been with the BMW Group since 1985 and has headed the
company's Corporate Affairs since 1989. Before that, Mr. Gaul was editor at the
"Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger", the "Stuttgarter Zeitung" and the "manager magazin",
and was Deputy Business Division Manager at "Die Zeit".
