Better Boating Experience
DesignworksUSA utilized its 40 years of transportation design expertise to make a universally attractive engine that works well on all types of boats. The style lines follow Mercury’s family look, incorporating modern surface treatment and proportions. Together with the 150hp engine and award winning Mercury Marine electronic remote control, DesignworksUSA and Mercury Marine continue to create a better boating experience.
This new engine lineup was designed, engineered and manufactured to provide the smoothest, quietest ride. A tightly sealed top cowl and idle relief muffler system lessen high-frequency exhaust noise. A top-mounted throttle body fine-tunes intake noise, while the exclusive Focused Mount System greatly reduces vibration. Even the trim pump is designed to run significantly quieter, and a new clutch system reduces shock while shifting into gear. All of these features deliver a smoother, quieter, more pleasant boating experience in a modern and dynamic looking exterior package.
Despite their low profile and low weight – they’re 20 pounds lighter than the closest four-stroke competition – the new engines feature a 2.1-liter, four-cylinder, eight-valve, single-overhead-cam design that delivers more torque and horsepower than competing engines. The result is unmatched performance, reliability, handling and efficiency.
The new Mercury FourStroke engines are built with the same architecture as the extraordinarily reliable and extremely popular Mercury 150hp FourStroke also designed by DesignworksUSA in collaboration with Mercury Marine.
