Munich. This spring, MINI will present itself in the exclusive outfit of the
Italian lifestyle label Bisazza. Mosaic surfaces made up of thousands of
coloured glass stones turn four MINI models into not for sale designer
one-offs. They will celebrate their world premiere at the Salone Internationale
del Mobile in Milan on april 13th 2005. MINI and Bisazza have agreed the
cooperation, because with their products both brands create thrilling
experiences for customers and viewers alike, realising them in top quality and
uniting their traditions with trail-blazing technology.
Zebra, Summer Flowers, Tartan and Dama: 142.700 glass stones for four MINI cars.
The MINI wears Bisazza design was created by Carlo dal Bianco and Marco Braga.
The MINI Convertibles in Zebra and Dama Design have a mosaic surface of 6 sqm.
The two MINI cars in the Summer Flowers and Tartan Design have a surface of 7
sqm each. The mosaics were created using glass stones which are only 12 x 12 mm
in size. More than 30 thousand glass stones are required for a MINI in Bisazza
dress: 31,700 for the MINI Convertibles, 37,004 for the closed MINI version.
After careful analysis of the MINI shapes and materials, the challenge above
all was to make the patterns and colours look homogeneous in three dimensions.

MINI wears Bisazza: the meeting of design icons.
Driving as an intensive experience.
Since 1959 the nippy little cars from Oxford have been lighting up the street
scene with their unique design, which still remains unparalleled to this day.
With more and more new paintwork colours, up-to-date accessories such as the
iPod interface and its own MINI Collection - ranging from cheeky T-shirts,
stylish sunglasses and innovative bags, MINI is right on the spot in 70
countries when it comes to shaping the future. MINI is a synonym for driving
fun and pure urban lifestyle. The amazing popularity of MINI is not only
expressed in remarkable sales figures. The display cases at the MINI
headquarters are also bursting with design and public awards, which MINI keeps
winning worldwide. The latest example is "The most beautiful Automobile 2004".
The award of was presented recently in early March 2005 in Milan.
Staged moods and atmospheres.
Trump Tower New York, the Hanover Expo Plaza (with a 2,600 sqm mosaic) or the
Microsoft Italia headquarters in Milan - Bisazza with its main seat in Alte
near Vicenza is at home all over the world, supported by a refined network of
production sites and showrooms. Founded in 1956 Bisazza comes from the same
generation as MINI and its shapes, colours and emotions are just as exciting.
Like MINI, Bisazza has managed to turn its products into thrilling design
objects. With its unequalled combination of absolute perfection and Italian
style - which is both exclusive and classic as well as trendy and sexy -
Bisazza has long gone beyond the nice-to-have stage. Bisazza mosaics create
breathtaking moods and atmospheres, stage products and locations and give
interiors, exterior and surfaces that very special flair. Bisazza gets its
input from intensive dialogue with up-and-coming architects and designers. This
is also how the openness for innovative projects such as MINI wears Bisazza,
chairs of the Soft Mosaic Collection and the Astri jewellery collection are
created.
