Answer to the question: What is special about the BMW ActiveHybrid 7? W.B.: “The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 is based on the BMW 750i, which is already a very efficient car, and it adds a hybrid power train, combining the powerful V8 with an electric motor. It ends up with a fuel economy improvement of about 15 percent - with better performance than the base vehicle 750i - and as a result, it is just fun to drive. It’s the most dynamic hybrid in the market.”Answer to the question: Why do you launch a 7 Series Hybrid now? W.B.: “After the implementation of EfficientDynamics measures over the whole BMW fleet, it is now the logical time to implement ActiveHybrid as the next step of efficiency measures.”Answer to the question: Why do you offer a different concept with the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 compared to the BMW ActiveHybrid X6? W.B.: “BMW always offers tailor-made solutions for different model ranges, and the analysis and the considerations we took, led us the concept we show in the ActiveHybrid 7.”Answer to the question: Why do you offer a V8 hybrid? W.B.: “The V8 is a very important power train in some of our key markets, in most important key markets, and so it’s a logical choice to go with the V8 – and it’s fun to drive!”Answer to the question: What is the additional weight of the hybrid components? W.B.: “The lithium-ion battery, the electric motor and the electronics add up about 100 kilograms to the weight of the vehicle.”
