Statement 1: We have seen that there is an interesting customer group which does not find an offer in our current model range. We believe that this segment is growing tremendously over the next year. These customers are a little different to our current customers. They look for a premium car, they like driving performance but still look much more on comfort and interior versatility. Statement 2: If you decide to go in such a segment and offer the right concept you need to have the right layout. The current layout didn’t offer us the opportunity to make a compact car with a spacious interior at the same time. As a result we have decided to go to front wheel drive to have the optimum in terms of size but also on the driving performance. And as you know we have over 10 years of experience with the MINI brand and front wheel drive. Statement 3: It is absolutely a true BMW. It has a sporty design, it has a great handling, it has a very sophisticated but still very versatile interior.

Statement 1: We believe that this front wheel drive architecture with its own new proportions can also deliver a very dynamic appearance. There are different possibilities to achieve this. On this car we tried to give in the front and rear view a very typical BMW identity. It is linked with proud and upright kidneys and also with the headlights which are focused on the street, altogether a very typical BMW face. Also the lower bumper has with the three whole air intakes a very sporty and dynamic appearance. In the rear end we have a typical L light shape with a very nice night appearance. And also the lower bumper shows a lot of sportiness. In the side view with the small slim cabin and a lot of wedge in the body side with crease line, which is also very typical for BMW and a very nicely rich sculptured body side. And all this offer a very nice stand, especially from the rear. Statement 2: The new things about the exterior of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer are especially the new proportion. The proportion of the 2 Series Active Tourer is more upright, is also more one box than we know from BMW and this has a strong impact we believe on the street. It is more compact and has a completely new identity as a BMW. This is very interesting for us as a designer to give a BMW a completely new look. We believe also that with a strong design in front and rear and with a very dynamic wedge on the body side we can still give such a new proportion a very typical BMW dynamic look.

Statement 1: The colours we choose for the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer support the space and roominess of the car. For example the colour Canberra Beige support the space and also the panorama roof we have show the roominess of the car. Statement 2: With the 2 Series Active Tourer we give the opportunity to the customer to choose different characters. We have the concept of different lines, so we have a sporty line, a luxury line or the M sport package. Every customer could choose and find something what kind of character fits to himself. Statement 3: When you choose a line you can choose different colours or kidneys or different chrome in the extras, so you really have different shades for your personal car. Statement 4: For the BMW Active Tourer we developed a whole range of different exterior colours. For example we developed the exclusive colour Platinum Silver Metallic. This colour underlines the geometry of the exterior very well.
