Beijing. The BMW Group and BMW Brilliance Automotive Ltd. (BBA) will further explore the premium compact segment in China with the BMW 1 Series Sedan – the first compact sports sedan under the BMW brand. This makes BBA's product range in the compact class even more comprehensive with premium entry-level cars covering segments of the Active Tourer, Sports Activity Vehicle, and Sports Sedan, attracting new customer groups to become premium car owners.
BMW South Africa will offer additional standard specifications on all BMW models produced from this month (July 2016). The added specifications will strengthen BMW’s product offering within the premium segment and deliver more Sheer Driving Pleasure to customers.

The passing of the baton from one generation of engines to the next in July 2016 will enable the BMW M Performance Automobiles in the BMW 1 Series and BMW 2 Series model ranges to showcase their stellar sporting character with even greater style.
From the start of production in July 2016, the BMW 1 Series and BMW 2 Series will for the first time feature more petrol engines from the BMW Group's latest drive generation. These also include an even more powerful but also more efficient straight six-cylinder for the BMW M Performance models BMW M140i 3-door, BMW M140i 5-door, BMW M240i Coupe and the BMW M240i Convertible. However, the BMW 1 Series 3-door model will no longer be offered in South Africa.
