In order to be tested to receive 5 Stars in Euro NCAP's safety evaluation, the vehicle must be put through 4 total vehicle crash tests, plus active safety tests on the track as well as component tests. This side (barrier) test demonstrates the top performance of the 2 Series active tourer and BMW X1 as well as presenting BMW's first production implementation of a center airbag in a compact claas to further limit interaction on the far side of the vehicle.
