BMW Motorrad offers a wide range of clothing. Riders gear, riders apparel for any type of riding, any style of motorcycle riding. From off-road, touring, sport riding, jackets, trousers, boots, gloves, anything you want we offer. BMW is very unusual because we have the only company in the world, which has motorcycle and car designer under one roof. We also are one of the only companies that has motorcycle clothing design within a own design department. That means that our people are motorcycle riders without exception. They know exactly what’s necessary. They know how important fit is, how important function is. At BMW Motorrad, safety is the first priority. BMW Motorrad clothing is something that you should be recognized from a distance. You see it, it got colours, graphics, proportions, you can see it from a distance what type of motorcycle clothing it is. For off-road, for touring. In that clarity of line, clarity proportion is something that is very important to our line. It sets it apart from our competitors. It is a very clear philosophy in our products with our motorcycles, with our cars and also with our clothing: is a very clear line, proportion, colours. And certainly with riders gear very important the functionality. So all that should be fit together in such a way that you look at it must function well, which it does. But also have a very attractive „i got to have that“ it fits for the enduro riding that I’m planning on doing. Motorcycle clothing in a whole obviously has to function well. In our case it not only should function well. Safety is a very important feature for us. But also fit the type of riding that you are doing. So the whole look, it has to fit well, it has to be comfortable after hours of riding. If it’s made for warm weather it should ventilate well, if it’s made for winter climate it should keep you very warm. So all these features should be something that you can see. You can tell it’s from BMW. The material that we use for a clothing is a very specific to particular use. We develop our materials with our partners, with companies that we have bin involved for a long time. These each material has to have particular use. Is it for ventilating, because you have a warm weather climate. Is it met to not allow any water in, that may be let perspiration out. So we have very specific materials that we develop for particular cases. And it all has to look cool, too. BMW Motorrad clothing looks like no other clothing there is. We are inspiring a number of competitors we see now with colours we using, graphics we are using, very clear values, that means engineering functionality. And there is something you see in the clothing itself. I like the question about where designers get inspired. We got designers here, from all over the world, there are interested in all sorts of different things from music over fashion to sports. And inspiration they bring in the studio helps others with there inspiration. All our designers in the clothing area are fashion designers with motorcycle experience. They aware of what are on the motorcycle world but they also aware whats going on in the fashion world. By knowing whats out there they can decide what fits to our company, what fits to a particular product. And it also gives the flair that is very important to our products. The question about trends is alway a fun one because it is often stated as a general trend. What is the trend? We got a number of different trends obviously. The m

Meanwhile we have a product offer wich can be called complete. We have helmets up to shoes, everything to dress under, over, underwear, functional underwear, we have gloves, boots. I think you can just enter naked a shop and can go out completely dressed with our products. In the less eight years we nearly doubled our sales volume. So meanwhile we have a great success. Especially the markets Italy, Spain for example, England, France had a very good grow, so it’s a big deal, a big business. Interesting in the good thing about our work together with the department of the product management of the bikes is, that we are involved in the complete bike planning from the beginning on. So there for we can plan our product range absolutely matched to the bike ??? program. Our philosophy is more or less trying to find a perfect combination between active and passive safety. That means to do everything that the rider is feeling comfortable, is feeling fine while riding in his bike. And on the other hand having a jacket or a trouser or helmet which really safes the rider in case of accident. So it must be a perfect combination of both. It’s a mixture of our design and our functionality. I think you can compare to another brand. You will recognize our design. And I think you see our use of best materials and the use of - hopefully – best functional details you can find on the market. What we do is to look at the outdoor sportwear business if we are looking for new trends, new colours, new designs. Because, for example, the snowboard thing is stylish, it’s modern. It’s the thing we are trying to orientate a little bit. I think in future we will have even more funtionality in textiles. I think about easy-to-clean and softshell materials, which are very comfortable to wear but high abrasion resistant. So I think the future is and will be new membran and new textiles with high functionality.
