Pune. BMW India organized “Discover Driving Pleasure” a signature drive experience at an airfield in India’s inspirational megalopolis “Aamby Valley City” from November 13 to 16, 2007 for its select customers and car enthusiasts.

The Drive programme provided a distinct opportunity to experience the entire BMW model range launched in India, explore the latest BMW technology and enjoy unlimited driving pleasure in the experienced hands of BMW Driver Training instructors.

The eight hour “Discover Driving Pleasure” is based on the latest know-how in driving skills and research, with individual, personalised support provided by competent Driver training instructors. Participants were exposed to training sessions on the airfield and off road circuits, to maximize the driver’s potential subsequently giving him greater confidence at the wheel and extra safety in everyday traffic.

Mr. Peter Kronschnabl, President BMW India, said “In India, as all over the world, BMW owners are emotionally connected with their BMW cars. Our commitment to driving pleasure compels us to be at the forefront; setting the benchmarks for distinctive design, fascinating technological innovation and unmatched driving dynamics. The BMW Discover Driving Pleasure Programme is created to provide a stimulating and comprehensive drive experience that provides an opportunity to get first-hand experience from BMW’s best driver training instructors”.

The “Discover Driving Pleasure” offered participants three modules – the X Drive, Driver Training and Scenic Drive. During the X Drive (BMW X5 & X3) participants experienced off-road driving, Hill Descent Control (HDC), and performance of BMW X-drive technology. The Driver Training module (BMW 3 Series and 5 Series) included exercises in braking techniques, steering, accident avoidance, a slalom course, cornering styles, road hazard maneuvering and low-speed maneuvering. During the Scenic Drive module participants get an on-road drive in a range of BMW cars (BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series).

The Drive experience on the airfield and off road circuits located in pristine nature, luxuriant foliage, highly conductive weather and majestic backdrop of the enchanting mountain peaks created a distinctive experience that surrounds the BMW brand. Participants were exposed to various brand facets of BMW the at the welcome evening where a BMW brand quiz, BMW F1 simulator, a specially designed miniature MINI race track were key highlights.
