Gurugram. BMW India has opened bookings for the first-ever BMW i5 Long Wheelbase today. The car will be locally produced in India. Proudly becoming the second electric BMW model to roll out of BMW Group Plant Chennai, the BMW i5 Long Wheelbase is also the first locally produced electric sedan from BMW India. The luxurious EV sedan can be booked across authorized BMW dealer network. Customers can also register their interest on BMW India website.
The BMW 5 Series has long dominated its position as the world’s most loved executive luxury sedan. For the progressive customers in this luxury segment, the first-ever BMW i5 Long Wheelbase brings together an unparalleled combination of space, rear-seat comfort, technology and most importantly, a refined electric interpretation of Sheer Driving Pleasure, which is in BMW’s DNA.
The first-ever BMW i5 Long Wheelbase stands as the largest and longest sedan in its segment in terms of size (5,175 mm length, 2,156 mm width, 1,520 mm height). It offers the most spacious cabin in the segment paired with an expertly engineered rear-seat experience. The commanding 3,105 mm wheelbase means extra space for the rear passengers who want to travel in utmost luxurious comfort. Powering this electric sedan is a robust electric motor delivering 268 hp of instantaneous power, propelling from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.7 seconds. Equipped with an advanced 81.6 kWh high-voltage battery pack, the i5 delivers an exceptional, anxiety-free driving range of up to 669 km (MIDC) on a single charge. Designed to conquer Indian road conditions, it features an adaptive rear-axle air suspension and enhanced ground clearance that guarantees superior ride comfort, composure, and signature BMW driving pleasure across all terrains.
Marking the arrival of the first-ever BMW i5 LWB, BMW India launches an exclusive First Edition, limited to only 99 customers, celebrating a significant milestone in the brand’s electrification journey in India. The exclusive BMW i5 LWB First Edition elevates luxury and rear-seat comfort with a dedicated rear seat entertainment package featuring a tablet and tablet holder. The interior also gets exclusive BMW Individual Silver Bronze accent combined with Fineline open-pored fine-wood trim and Silver Bronze inlay. Distinctive ‘FIRST EDITION’ laser engraving on the dashboard trim further underscores its exclusivity. The First Edition is offered in a unique specification, combining the elegant Carbon Black Metallic exterior paint finish with striking Titanium Bronze exterior accents, creating a truly distinctive presence on the road.
