The series show the BMW iNEXT Design process, narrated authentically by employees and their stories. Episode 1 – The Monolith: Interviews about the process of exterior design with Kai Langer (Head of BMW i Design), Dirk Müller-Stolz (Head of BMW i Exterior Design) and Sawyer Li (Exterior Designer). The minimalist, bold and iconic exterior design is visually transported in this episode, that feels reduced and sculptural - thus almost mystic. A monolith functions as a symbolic/aesthetic motive throughout the episode.

Episode 2: Focus of episode 2 is interior design and interviewpartners are: Matthias Junghanns (Head of BMW i Interior Design), Simon Sebastian (Interior Designer) and Daniela Bohlinger (Head of BMW Group Design Sustainability). The concept of minimalism is also reflected within the interior-design, that surprises with an inviting, boutique-like atmosphere and an transcendent quality. Several, now pastel colored monoliths are part of the set-design, mixed with floral attributes in Ikebana-like-fashion.

The brand new and all-electric BMW iX1 is produced exclusively in the BMW Group plant Regensburg. Regensburg is not only home to the car production, the high voltage battery production for the iX1 is situated in Regensburg as well. This has huge advantages for sustainability due to short logistics distances.
