In order to be tested to receive 5 Stars in Euro NCAP's safety evaluation, the vehicle must be put through 4 total vehicle crash tests, plus active safety tests on the track as well as component tests. This side (barrier) test demonstrates the top performance of the iX as well as presenting BMW's first production implementation of a center airbag to further limit interaction on the far side of the vehicle.

The series show the BMW iNEXT Design process, narrated authentically by employees and their stories. The concept of minimalism is also reflected within the interior-design, that surprises with an inviting, boutique-like atmosphere and an transcendent quality. Several, now pastel colored monoliths are part of the set-design, mixed with floral attributes in Ikebana-like-fashion.
