BMW Motorrad Rider Training 2009 – supreme confidence on and off the road.

Munich. Winter is finally retreating – it's time for the 2009 motorcycling season to start! Once again this year, BMW Motorrad offers a varied range of rider training programs for a safe start to the season.
The diverse spectrum of courses is aimed at beginners, re-starters and dedicated old-hands who pursue their motorcycling passion on the road or over rough terrain.

A new feature in the 2009 program is provided by the BMW test rides and rider training programs on well-known race tracks, offered in conjunction with BMW Motorrad’s partner Team Motobike.
In all training programs, trained instructors show participants perfect mastery of the machine to allow them to ride more safely, more confidently and with greater enjoyment. The programs are delivered in small groups at the BMW Driver Training Centre in Munich, on selected race tracks and on diverse and demanding enduro training grounds.

Compact Training: A safe start.

These programs are mainly aimed at beginners and re-starters and provide an ideal preparation for riding in everyday traffic. Braking exercises, avoidance manoeuvres and precise bend approaches help the rider develop secure control of the bike. The half-day Compact Training is held at the BMW Driver Training Centre Munich Airport and costs between € 105 (with your own bike)) and €135 (with a bike provided by BMW Motorrad).

Advanced Training: Perfect your riding style.

The whole-day Advanced Training program is also held at the BMW Driver Training Centre in Munich. Here, both experienced riders and re-starters can refine their riding skills. Intensive training of various cornering techniques, avoidance, slalom and tips on the correct line of sight and how to respond in dangerous situations ensures participants are fit for road traffic. The price is € 200 with your own bike and € 240 with a borrowed machine.

Team Motobike: BMW test rides and rider training on the race track.

In collaboration with BMW Motorrad, the experienced instructors of Team Motobike show ambitious riders what they are capable of on the race track. Here it is not about lap times but about exploring the full potential of the BMW high performance motorcycles provided without being under pressure to perform.
The all-day events are held at the Nürburgring (GP track), the LuK Driving Center Baden and the Sachsenring (GP track) and cost 299 euros (Nürburgring: € 349).
For anyone who would prefer to sit in the saddle of their own bike and test their cornering skills, there are riding training programs lasting between one and three days offered by Team Motobike. These are held at Nürburgring, Hockenheim, Sachsenring (GP track in each case), as well as in France (Anneau du Rhin) and Majorca. Cost: between € 165 and € 899.

1-day enduro training program: Ideal for beginners.

The Enduro Park in Hechlingen appeals to all those for whom the real fun of motorcycling begins away from the asphalt.
The 1-day enduro training program is designed for enduro beginners. On request it can be extended to two days. According to individual participants' skills, the trained instructors teach the main fundamentals of off-road riding such as correct line of sight, correct standing position and braking on loose surfaces. Here participants quickly learn confident handling of the machine on mud, gravel and various terrain formations. There is also a one-day enduro training program specially designed for women.
The beginner’s training program costs € 200 (with your own bike) and € 325 (with a bike provided by BMW Motorrad).

2-day enduro training program: The kick for advanced riders.

This program is designed for experience riders who want to put the finishing touches to their skills before setting out on the track. It costs between € 400 and € 595 euros (with BMW motorcycle provided).

1-day sports training program: Coping with tough terrain.

Here athletic enduro fans can show what they are capable of on the BMW G 450 X over a demanding circuit. A special X-track has also been created featuring jump hills, bump tracks and steep bends, offering the just the right terrain for all sporty and experienced enduro riders. The one-day training with a BMW G 450 X provided costs € 149, if you bring your own bike with you the cost is € 119.

2-day sports training program: By pros for pros.

The two-day advanced training is for real experts who want to make the most of their potential and learn from the very best. Mastering the newly created X-track provides just a foretaste of the subsequent intensive training course with instruction provided by professionals from the BMW Motorrad Motorsport team and carried out at legendary tracks such as the Erzberg.
