O-Ton Dr. D. Wisselmann: The narrow passage assistant is a so called advanced driver assistant system which helps you for overtake for example lorries in a construction side at an highway. O-Ton Dr. D. Wisselmann: In general we see that the narrow passage assistant can support in principal all customers. Of course a special effect we see at people which feel a little bit uncomfortable in this narrow passaging situation on a highway construction side. O-Ton Dr. D. Wisselmann: The technics of the narrow passage assistant is basing on a so called surveyed sensors. We use two sensor principals, is one laser scanner and one ultrasonic system in the narrow passage. O-Ton Dr. D. Wisselmann: In the moment the narrow passage assistant is in a research phase, where we try to evaluate the system, therefore we can not talk about the time point when the customer can buy the system in serial cars. O-Ton Dr. D. Wisselmann: The narrow passage assistant is one part of the connected drive strategy. In this strategy we try to interlink the driver, the car and the environment for example by surveyed sensors. Within the strategy we develop functions to increase the driver safety and the drivers comfort. Driving shots in Munich, tripod.

O-Ton T. Tronnier: The narrow passage assistant is a driver assistant system which helps the driver while driving thru very tied passages, for example on a highway construction side. O-Ton T. Tronnier: Generally the system was build for all kind of drivers, but especially for people who feel unsafe in tied passages should be supported. O-Ton T. Tronnier: If the overtaking is not safe, the system displays a warning symbol in the head up display, and if is possible to overtake safely the system helps the driver to give him some symbolic hints on which side there is more or less space on the side of the car.
