It is something really special. It is my 3rd time being here and I don’t know , and I don’t know why, I have heard from so many people it is going to be wet, it is England. And all the time I am here the sun is out and it is really beautiful – it must be me, I am not sure. No, Goodwood is special, look around. There a so many people here around, so many enthusiastic fans, asking questions, not like they haven’t heard about motorsports. They know about the Art Car. They ask me a lot of questions about it. It is fantastic, it is a great Event. It is something really special. John Surtees, British ex-race driver: When I went to Hockenheim in 1957, after I won the world championship, Mr. von Falkenhausen had this beautiful looking car there. He said: try it. So I tried it and thought I like one of those. So I said to Count Giovanni Agusta: You want to give me a present? Please give me a 507 and he wasn’t so happy. But we did 50:50 and I got a BMW 507 and then I worked with the factory on doing some modifications and I still have that car today. I think, unique is the right word, because people get so close to machines not just of today but of yesterday. They come together with the machines. But more than that with the people how was associated with motorsport machines. Normally you read about in the newspaper, here you come along and stand next to them, get audiograms. It is like a big royal garden party with motorcycles and cars and lots of people. Jacky Steward, triple formula 1 champion: First of all Lord March has created all of this and allows the public to get close with the drivers, with the engineers, with the mechanics, everybody. The atmosphere is second to none. He has the best racing cars that the world has ever seen. Everybody wants to come here and the same with the drives. I mean I do not know how many world champions are here this weekend, but a lot and we all like to come. Jacky Steward, triple formula 1 champion: Well, I don’t drive much. I’ve had a driver for 35 years, so I hardly drive at all. So I only drive a racing car and things like Goodwood, the revival as well as the festival of Speed and then I do demonstrations but I don’t drive very much. Jimmie Vaughan, bluesrock-guitarist and singer: It is unbelievable, it is hardly to describe, if you like cars and motorcycles and airplanes and speed. Basically it is great – and now guitars. But it is all really about the racing, anything with wheels on it.
