Presenter Willi Weitzel: 'I already had a look at the room yesterday and I was of course today anxious to know how the children would react, and my view is that the pedagogical concept really works, because there was simply so much to be seen, to marvel at and to learn.' Presenter Willi Weitzel: 'I told the children before coming here that it was a place you enter in which there are things to see, to marvel at, where you can try things out and then finally leave having learnt a lot. This is what has happened and I think it’s a good thing.' Presenter Willi Weitzel: 'After today, 26 May 2011, every child can be happy that the Junior Campus has reopened, and they can get information here on sustainability and mobility and really learn something.' Presenter Willi Weitzel: 'The Junior Campus, sure, the word is Junior, but I think that even as an adult I am able to judge that grownups will also be able to gaze in amazement and feel happy walking around the room. There really is a lot to see and one can gain in-depth information on issues such as sustainability – what actually happens to the cars? What materials are they made of, where do the raw materials come from and, above all: are they simply scrapped, discarded in the forest….? It is simply all about the fact the world’s resources are somewhat limited and here one has the opportunity to address these issues intensively.'

Spokesperson Konstanze Carreras: 'The new thing about the Junior Campus we have opened here today is the sustainability portal and the new workshop dealing with the subject of sustainability and recycling.' Spokesperson Konstanze Carreras: 'The Junior Campus is divided up into three pedagogical rooms which build on one another consecutively, the portal, the laboratory and the workshop.' Spokesperson Konstanze Carreras: 'Portal, as the name implies, is the gateway to knowledge. With the aid of interactive exhibits, children can learn about the issue of sustainability. Here, the subject of sustainability is touched on so to speak. At the laboratory, sustainability and mobility are dealt with in detail by means of a quiz and interactive exhibits and in the third room, the workshop, children build their own vehicle according to a job assignment and – what is now entirely new – they build a solar-powered vehicle at the sustainability workshop.' Spokesperson Konstanze Carreras: 'Sustainability is generally a very important issue for the BMW Group anyway and firmly anchored in our corporate strategy. Consequently, it also affects our educational activities as we try to confront younger generations with socially significant issues as early as possible, because young people will of course also shape our future society, so we must take the appropriate action as early as we can.'
