Interview Johnny Cecotto about his start at the AvD-Oldtimer-Grand-Prix. (English) “I am very happy to be here, I am very happy to be with BMW again and to be in this big event. It’s really impressive, the amount of people and cars and the atmosphere here.”

Interview Harald Grohs about being back at the wheel of a BMW M1 Procar. (German) „Mit dem M1 ist natürlich von der ersten Minute an, wenn man sich reinsetzt, die hohen Pedalkräfte von Kupplung, Bremse und die hohen Lenkkräfte, da muss man sich wieder dran gewöhnen. Aber unter dem Strich bin ich immer stolz darauf, was wir früher geleistet haben in diesem Auto.“ Translation: ”From the very first minute you get into the BMW M1 you notice the high pedal forces for clutch and brake and the high steering forces that you have to get used to again. But in the end I am always proud of what we achieved with this car back in the days.”

Interview Paul Rosche about the restoration of the Brabham BMW BT 52 Turbo. (German) „Das hat einen furchtbaren Spaß gemacht, meinen früheren Mitarbeitern und auch für mich, das Auto wieder zum Laufen zu bringen. Es war zwar viel Arbeit, wir haben da zuerst eine ziemliche Zeit gebraucht, bis man sich wieder erinnert hat, aber wir haben es ja dann schussendlich geschafft. Das macht Spaß.“ Translation: ”It was an awful lot of fun for my former employees and for me to get the car running again. That was a great amount of work and we needed some time to remember everything, but in the end we finally did it. That was real fun.”

Interview Jochen Neerpasch about the reunion with his former racing cars. (German) „Ich finde das fantastisch, diese Autos nochmal zu sehen und mich wundert es immer wieder, dass die selbst nach vierzig Jahren nicht nur fahren, sondern auch noch gewinnen. Das ist ein wunderbares Gefühl.“ Translation: “It is fantastic to see these cars again and I am always surprised that after forty years these cars are not only still running but are able to win races as well. That feels just wonderful.”

Interview Norbert Knerr about the AvD-Oldtimer-Grand-Prix 2013. (German) „BMW hat in der Vergangenheit viele Meisterschaften gewonnen, Siege gefeiert und hat eine sehr hohe Verbundenheit mit dem Nürburgring. Und der Oldtimer-Grand-Prix am Nürburgring ist eine sehr gute Plattform, wo wir unsere historischen Rennfahrzeuge einerseits demonstrieren können in Demoläufen, andererseits aber in richtigen, ausgeschriebenen Rennen einsetzen können.“ Translation: ”BMW has won many championships and celebrated a lot of victories and therefore is very closely connected to the Nürburgring. And the Oldtimer-Grand-Prix at the Nürburgring is a very good stage to showcase our historic racing cars during demo runs and to use them in real races as well.”
