Der Smart-Transport-Roboter, der STR 5, hat für Wackersdorf die Bedeutung, dass wir hier die Möglichkeit haben, unter realen Bedingungen unseren innovativen Intralogistik-Transport-Roboter hier zu testen und die Vorserie unter realen Bedingungen wirklich zur Serienreife führen können. Die Bedeutung des STR für die BMW Group ist, dass wir customised, auf unsere Rolluntersetzer zugeschnitten wirklich ein Intralogistik-Transportmittel haben, in dem wir in allen Werken die Aufgaben der Intralogistik wahrnehmen können. Die Einsatzmöglichkeiten des STR sind einmal in der klassischen Intralogistik, Transport vom Lager in die Montagehallen, aber auch durch die Technik, die wir einsetzen, auch das direkte Beliefern am Band, die direkte Materialtransporte bis ans Montageband ohne einen manuellen Eingriff.

Interview Thomas Dose – Voice over. We are using the Smart Transport Robot in Wackersdorf so we can test our innovative intralogistics transport robot under realistic conditions and get it ready for series production. What the STR means for the BMW Group is having a method of transport that is customised for our roller platforms and can perform intralogistics tasks at all plants. The Smart Transport Robot can be used, on the one hand, in classic intralogistics – for example, transportation from the warehouse to the assembly halls – and, on the other, for direct transportation of materials to the production line without manual intervention.

Das Besondere an den STRs ist, dass wir auf unsere Bedürfnisse angepasst sind hier bei BMW, das heißt wir haben die Standard-Rolluntersetzer, die wir unterfahren können, die eine Höhe von 23 cm haben. Des Weiteren haben wir ein funkbasiertes Navigationssystem, was uns erlaubt, sehr schnell und flexibel Positionen zu ändern, damit wir uns unseren Bedürfnissen anpassen können. Wir befinden uns momentan in dem Vorserienstadium, das heißt wir haben zehn Geräte hier in Wackersdorf bei uns laufen, die direkt in der Produktion drin sind und die da praktisch erprobt werden. Und Mitte nächsten Jahres werden wir die endgültige Serie haben und die haben wir dann in den anderen Werken, wo wir sie installieren werden. Die nächsten Schritte bei uns sind die Integration einer 3D-Kamera. Die 3D-Kamera hilft uns dabei, dass wir die Behälter automatisch aufnehmen können. Der weitere Schritt ist dann, dass wir einen automatischen Wechsel an der Montagelinie machen können, das heißt wir können das Leergut abholen automatisch und das Vollgut bringen, ohne dass irgendeine Person dabei beteiligt ist.

Interview Stephan Metka- Voice over What makes the Smart Transport Robot so special is that it is customised to meet our needs here at BMW. This means it can drive under the standard roller platforms with a height of 23 centimetres. We also have a wireless navigation system that allows us to change the location where the Smart Transport Robot is being used quickly and flexibly. We are currently in the pre-series phase, where we have ten transport robots we are testing directly in production in Wackersdorf. In mid-2017, we plan to switch to series operation and also use the Smart Transport Robot at other plants. The next step will be to integrate a 3D camera, which will help us to automatically lift the roll containers. At a later stage of development, we would also like to automate changeovers on the assembly line. This means automatically collecting empty containers and delivering full ones to the production line without any human involvement.

Mit Connected Supply Chain werden die Materialsteuerer, die Transportsteuerer und die physische Logistik dabei unterstützt, die Supply Chain proaktiv zu steuern und den Aufwand für Troubleshooting zu reduzieren. So kann die Versorgungsicherheit erhöht und die Effizienz in der Steuerung verbessert werden. Beispielsweise kann eine signifikant verspätete Anlieferung in Folge einer Tunnelschließung erkannt und über GPS-Daten lokalisiert werden. Das System berechnet den Ankunftszeitpunkt neu und gleicht ihn mit aktuellen Beständen und Reichweiten ab. Bei einer versorgungskritischen Abweichung wird ein Alert an die Materialsteuerung gesendet, um zum Beispiel ein Umrouten auf eine Fähre zu initiieren. Zielsetzung von Connected Supply Chain ist es, vom Lieferabruf über die Transportavisierung bis hin zur Anlieferung des Materials im Wareneingang mehr Transparenz zu erhalten, Termin- und Mengenabweichungen sowie Beschädigungen im Prozess werden frühzeitig erkannt, wodurch zeitnah geeignete Maßnahmen eingeleitet werden können. Anschließend können die Abweichungen analysiert und zukünftige Entwicklungen prognostiziert werden.

With proactive supply chain management that will reduce the human effort needed for troubleshooting. This will increase the security of the supply chain and controller effectiveness. For example: a significantly delayed delivery caused by an accident or tunnel closure can be recognized and localized using GPS data. The system re-calculates the arrival time and checks current supplies in stock and how long it will last. If a shortage is identified, an alert is sent to the material’s controller to initiate a rerouting using a ferry, for example. Connected Supply Chain is designed to improve transparency from the moment a delivery is ordered, including when it is dispatched and all the way until it is booked by receiving. Missed deadlines, discrepancies in the amount delivered or damages that occurred in the process are detected early on so that appropriate measures can be promptly initiated. The deviations can then be further analyzed to predict future trends.
