BMW Group NZ is excited to confirm the anticipated arrival of the all new BMW M340i xDrive Touring – taking innovation, functionality and sporty dynamics to the next level of perfection.

The BMW M340i xDrive Touring is powered by a newly developed straight six-cylinder petrol engine producing 285 kW / 500 Nm. Together, high engine performance, M-specific suspension technology and intelligent four-wheel drive provide outstanding driving dynamics that are unparalleled in the midsize segment.

The athletic character of the vehicle is accentuated by model-specific design and equipment features throughout.

The BMW M340i xDrive Touring sets a new benchmark in driver orientated thrills and dynamics through its low centre of gravity, optimised weight and well-balanced axle load distribution as well as increased body rigidity and uprated suspension mountings. Moreover, the suspension technology and aerodynamics are precisely tuned to the new power unit’s high-performance characteristics.

The Adaptive M suspension, variable sports steering, M Sport differential, M Sport brake system and 19-inch M light alloy wheels with performance tyres are all standard equipment features for this high-performance wagon.

The turbocharging system has also been redeveloped.

The integration of the compact steel exhaust manifold and turbocharger effectuates rapid boost pressure development. Emissions have also been improved as fuel supply is provided by High Precision Injection technology, the injectors of which now operate at an injection pressure increased to up to 350 bar.

The driveline technology has been extensively redeveloped, and many details have been completely renewed. The six-cylinder engine has an increased output by 45 kW to 285 kW as well as an increase in maximum torque by 50 Nm to 500 Nm.

The all new BMW M340i xDrive Touring completes the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds – half a second faster than the top-of-the-range model of the previous generation of the BMW 3 Series Touring.

The BMW M340i xDrive Touring comes (as standard) with the 8-speed Steptronic sports transmission of the latest generation which is characterised, amongst other things, by an optimised hydraulic control system and exceptionally high shifting dynamics. Short ratios for the lower gears improve acceleration and the Launch Control function can be used for accelerating with maximum force from a standstill. Shift paddles on the steering wheel facilitate manual gear selection at any time.

The intelligent all-wheel drive technology featured by the all new BMW M340i xDrive Touring ensures maximum traction, agility and vehicle stability.

The rear-wheel bias of BMW xDrive supports the driving experience that BMW is known for and is most effective in SPORT and SPORT+ modes. The targeted transfer of drive force to the rear wheels enhances agility when steering into bends.

Furthermore, the BMW M340i xDrive Touring is equipped as standard with the M Sport differential.

The electronically controlled, fully variable rear-wheel locking function noticeably contributes not only towards an increase in traction, but also enhances stability and agility of the vehicle.

The superior performance is reflected in model-specific design and equipment features.

The design of the front apron, side sills and the rear end optimise both the cooling air supply and aerodynamics.

Unique design elements include the BMW kidney grille boasting a mesh design, the rear spoiler in body colour and trapezoidal exhaust tailpipe trims. The vehicle’s exclusive look is also complemented by exterior mirror caps, air intake struts, tailpipe trims and the model lettering all finished in Cerium Grey metallic.

Inside the vehicle, sports seats with M-specific upholstery in a leather ‘Vernasca’ trim, the anthracite BMW Individual roof liner, the M leather-clad steering wheel with shift paddles and interior trim strips in Aluminium Tetragon provide for an intensive driving pleasure-oriented ambience.

A further exclusive design feature of the all new BMW M340i xDrive Touring is the front door sills also boasting the “M340i” lettering.

Condition Based Servicing: As with all New Zealand-new BMW vehicles a five year warranty, three year service inclusive programme and five year roadside assist coverage is fully included. All maintenance requirements for the BMW M340i xDrive Touring are controlled by the Condition Based Servicing (CBS) system. With CBS, sensors and advanced algorithms monitor and calculate the conditions in which a vehicle is used, including mileage, time elapsed since its last service, fuel consumption and how a vehicle is driven. Based on the information captured, maintenance requirements are determined, identifying whether an annual vehicle inspection or oil service is due. Selected BMW service and maintenance costs can be covered by a single, one-off advance payment with BMW Service Inclusive (BSI), which is available in two packages: Basic or Plus.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
