BMW, distributed by Borusan Otomotiv in Türkiye, is exhibiting the BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA at the 19th edition of Contemporary Istanbul, open for General Admission between October 24-27th, 2024, with a Preview Day on October 23rd. The installation, which had its world premiere at the Frieze Los Angeles art fair, will be on view for art enthusiasts at Tersane Istanbul.
From October 9 to 13, Frieze London and Frieze Masters will return to London’s Regent's Park. Hydrogen as a sustainable source of energy and movement is the central theme of BMW's program at this year's Art Basel in Basel. Julie Mehretu presents her first design studies for the 20th BMW Art Car. For this project, the internationally renowned artist combines her artistic work with a personal enthusiasm for automotive design and speed. She translates dynamism into form and applies one of her monumental motifs from a two-dimensional picture plane onto a three-dimensional industrially designed object.
BMW announced a collaboration today at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City with internationally renowned New York-based artist Julie Mehretu to create the 20th BMW Art Car. Mehretu was unanimously chosen by an international jury of museum directors and curators, and will be given total creative freedom to design the next instalment in BMW’s legendary collection of ”rolling sculptures”.

Jeff Koons, together with Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management, BMW AG, announced today that the artist will create a special edition of the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe. The 8 Series Gran Coupe will be for sale in a limited collector’s edition after its world premiere at Frieze Los Angeles in February 2022. In 2010, the American artist created a unique BMW M3 GT2 Art Car which performed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

Hong Kong. From March 29 to 31, the Art Basel show in Hong Kong will give insights into the modern and contemporary works by emerging and established artists. As an official partner of the show, BMW will provide the VIP shuttle service, present the world’s first BMW Art Car (BMW 3.0 CSL, 1975) by legendary artist Alexander Calder, the latest BMW Art Journey awardee Zac Langdon-Pole will be on-site and next BMW Art Journey shortlist will be announced.
From February 15 through February 17, the first edition of Frieze Los Angeles will open its doors at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood, with a preview day on February 14, 2019. As one of the fair’s long-term partners, BMW will not only provide a BMW 7 Series and a BMW i3 Shuttle service, transporting the fair’s VIP guests, but also host Frieze Music and invite to the next Soho House & BMW i Art Talk.
Every year since 2011, BMW Art & Culture has given an artist the opportunity to produce a photography project in a three-month residency. The project is undertaken at the GOBELINS School of Visual Arts, which has been involved in the Residency for the past two years, following a six-year partnership with the Nicéphore Niépce Museum.
