Munich. The wheels of science are turning ever more quickly and the science
portal of the BMW Group is keeping pace with this: The ScienceClub of the BMW
Group with its new appearance but familiar quality presents news and background
information dealing with all aspects of science, research and transport policy.
For years the BMW Group has shown itself to be a modern company that develops a
wide range of innovations and is active in many fields. On time for its second
anniversary the online science portal ScienceClub of BMW Group is presenting
itself in an up-to-date outfit.
New URL: www.scienceclub.de
With the new URL www.scienceclub.de the ScienceClub will continue to offer
fascinating insights into the exciting world of BMW research and development to
users who are hungry for knowledge and scientific facts: The spectrum of topics
presented by the ScienceClub ranges from vehicle technology and transport
research up to production engineering and innovation management. In addition,
the reader can find out about the world of transport of the future as well as
undertake excursions into the scientific history of the car. An English version
is also available.
It doesn't matter whether the user is a university professor, journalist,
student or just an interested layperson: the ScienceClub has something to offer
for everyone. The ScienceNews contains the latest articles and expert
interviews from the world of mobile sciences supplemented by illustrative
material that can be downloaded; using the search function the user can
conveniently access the Archives, which have more than 40 topics available from
the last two years. The user can have the very latest news sent to them via a
Newsletter and can always be kept up-to-date. The information offered by BMW is
supplemented by Dates that are always topical with information about
interesting events in the field of science and research as well as by a number
of interesting Links to Science.
Solutions for an automobile future
According to Christoph Huss, the head of scientific and traffic policy of the
BMW Group, "The interest in innovative solutions from the field of science and
transpot policy has been increasing significantly within the last few years,
particularly in terms of environmental protection. As a car manufacturer we are
very aware of our social responsibility and are continuously working on
solutions for an automobile future. In the ScienceClub we keep interested
readers informed about the latest developments and milestones in research."
The visually rejuvenated ScienceClub with its concise contents will soon be
celebrating its 10th anniversary: It was launched in 1994 as a quarterly news
service entitled "Science, Research, Development " (Wissenschaft, Forschung,
Entwicklung - WPD) and has been an important source of information and research
for journalists and university professors ever since. In 2001, due to the
growing interest in scientific topics from the field of mobility and traffic,
the news service was not only finally given a new name but a new online home,
too. Since that time it is not possible to imagine the homepage of the BMW
Group without the ScienceClub and which is continuously gaining new readers
that are no longer able to resist the fascination of research.
