Munich, September 15, 2012. Louis Delétraz (CH) had two reasons to celebrate after the second race of the “Grand Final” of the 2012 Formula BMW Talent Cup, which was held as part of the DTM event at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on Saturday afternoon. Not only did the Swiss driver take full advantage of his pole position to lead brilliantly from start to finish, but Delétraz also picked up 25 points for his efforts, which have seen him move into the overall lead on 40 points going into Sunday morning’s third and decisive race (start at 08:55).
The participants in this year’s Formula BMW Talent Cup put on a thrilling race on Saturday evening, but it was the son of former Formula One driver Jean-Denis Delétraz who held off the challenges of Tristan Viidas (EE) and Marvin Dienst (DE), who crossed the line in second and third respectively, to emerge victorious. Ralph Boschung (CH), who won the opening race of the Grand Final on Saturday morning, finished fourth and will line up for the final race in second place overall, just behind Delétraz on 37 points.
The third and final race of the 2012 Formula BMW Talent Cup on Sunday morning promises to be a thriller. By the end of the race, we will know who is number one in the 2012 Formula BMW Talent Cup. BMW will finance the winner of the races in Oschersleben for a complete season in a higher-level racing series.
