“One Hour on the Bus”: Extraordinary interview session takes BMW DTM drivers on a tour of Kent.
Fri May 17 18:49:38 CEST 2013 Press Release
The BMW drivers do not usually have time for a sight-seeing tour on a DTM weekend. However, it was a different story ahead of the second race of the season at Brands Hatch (GB): the eight drivers climbed on board a typical British double-decker bus and set off on a one-hour trip through the county of Kent and the area around the “Brands Hatch Circuit”. They were accompanied on their journey by journalists and TV crews, who used the unusual location for interviews.

Brands Hatch (GB), 17th May 2013.
“I have raced countless times at Brands Hatch, but have never experienced a warm-up programme quite like this,” said local favourite Andy Priaulx (GB) of BMW Team RMG. “I discovered a lot of towns and villages near the circuit, which I have never been able to visit in all these years. This trip was a fantastic way to get into the mood for the weekend. I have obviously set my sights high for the race at my home track.”
BMW Team RBM driver Augusto Farfus (BR), who won the season-opener in Hockenheim (DE) a fortnight ago, also enjoyed the unique bus tour. “That was fantastic, and I think it was a great activity for the journalists,” he said. “Everyone was very relaxed and we had some nice chats. It is fun to check out the scenery around the circuit on a race weekend.”
The four BMW teams and their drivers are now preparing for the first outing at the “Brands Hatch Circuit”. Free practice is scheduled to commence at 09:10hrs local time. Next up is the battle for grid positions when qualifying gets underway at 13:40hrs.
