Munich. The BMW Welt was the scene of the launch of the new BMW Wintersport season. A press conference was held to announce the even stronger BMW Wintersport commitment, which features numerous new and extended partnerships.

The ever-popular sport of biathlon will be given a new look with title sponsor BMW: as of this season, the crystal balls awarded to the best biathletes in the world will be won at the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup. The technological partnership with the German Bobsleigh, Luge, and Skeleton Federation (BSD) has been running for several years already and has proven to be a real success story – and one which is set to continue this winter. New to the commitment is the partnership with the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (FIBT), the highlight of which will be the 2015 BMW FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Championship in Winterberg. As Official Partner of the International Luge Federation FIL, BMW is also taking its commitment to luge to a new level.

You can find details of the partnerships in the press kit for BMW’s commitment to winter sport in 2014/15.

  • BMW to be Title Sponsor of BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon.
  • BMW will be the main sponsor of the FIBT Bob & Skeleton World Cup.
  • On a virtual bobsleigh ride with BMW through the track.
  • BMW to support the International Luge Federation FIL as Official Partner and Main Sponsor of the FIL World Cup.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
