Munich (DE). Argentinean pairings Orlando Terranova / Bernardo Ronnie Graue and Lucio Alvarez / Sebastian Halpern produced a stunning driving display to achieve a MINI ALL4 Racing one-two finish at the 2015 Desafío Ruta 40 (19-23 May).
From Stage 1 to the end of the five stages of the 2015 Desafío Ruta 40, Terranova and Alvarez, the two Agrentinean drivers with their fellow countrymen co-drivers, topped the leader board. With masterful driving on the rocky mountain slopes, through to the difficult dunes of Catamarca, the MINI ALL4 Racing pilots frequently swapped positions to take three overall stage wins and never drop from the leading four positions.
The varied terrain of South America once again produced many challenges – the greatest being difficult navigation along the five stages especially within the areas of similar-looking dunes. In all, the changes in elevation and the varied conditions that included water and sand sections were very testing but will prove invaluable to further enhance the proven reliability of the MINI ALL4 Racing.
“I was surprised how hard this race is,” said Terranova. “This makes this victory even more sweet. The route was very difficult and challenged Ronnie [co-driver, Graue] a lot.”
The two MINI ALL4 Racing will now return to Germany in readiness for the next race duties within the 2015 FIA Cross Country Rally World Cup - 25/06 – 28/06 Italian Baja.
