Munich (DE), 14th September 2016. The winning streak of the BMW S 1000 RR in the Superstock class of the British Superbike Championship (BSB STK) continues: at Oulton Park (GB), Joshua Elliott (GB) and Adam Jenkinson (GB) claimed a one-two for the Bavarian racing machine. There was also a stunning success in the SuperBike Series Brasil (BSRBK) in Curitiba (BR). On his first appearance on the RR, Diego Pierluigi (AR) was unbeatable and rode to victory. In total, the BMW Motorrad Motorsport riders where in action on three continents, as they also took to the track in the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Series (AMA) at the New Jersey Motorsports Park (US). With their results, the riders also collected further points towards the 2016 BMW Motorrad Race Trophy (see full standings below).

British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park, Great Britain.

For the ninth round of the 2016 British Superbike Championship (BSB), the BMW teams and the engineers from BMW Motorrad Motorsport travelled to the traditional Oulton Park (GB) circuit last weekend. In the Superbike class (BSB SBK), three races were held, one on Saturday and two on Sunday. Richard Cooper (GB / Buildbase BMW Motorrad) was the highest placed BMW rider in race one, finishing sixth. Michael Laverty (GB / Tyco BMW Motorrad Racing) finished eighth, Lee Jackson (GB / Buildbase BMW Motorrad) in tenth also made it into the top ten. In the second race, two BMW racers made it into the top ten. Jake Dixon (GB / Royal Air Force Regular & Reserve) was eighth and Ryuichi Kyionari (JP), who will contest the remainder of the season on the BMW S 1000 RR of Smiths Racing BMW, finished tenth. In the third race it was then Laverty’s turn to reach the finish as the highest placed BMW rider, crossing the line in fourth. Cooper was sixth, Jackson eighth and Christian Iddon (GB / Tyco BMW Motorrad Racing) ninth.

In the Superstock class (BSB STK), ten races have been held so far this season – and on eight occasions victory went to a BMW S 1000 RR rider. At Oulton Park it was again a battle of the BMW racers for the win. In the end, Joshua Elliott (GB / Tyco BMW Motorrad Racing) took his first victory of the season. The one-two was completed by Adam Jenkinson (GB / NEI Motorsport), who celebrated his first podium finish. In total, eight RRs finished in the top ten. Places four to eight went to Michael Rutter (GB / Bathams SMT), Chrissy Rouse (GB / CECS / Mission Racing), Ashley Beech (GB / Jones-Dorling Racing), Alex Olsen (GB / Power Projects Racing) and Dominic Usher (GB / ONE7R / Formwise). Leon Jeacock (GB / Geo E Davies Racing) crossed the line in tenth. Until the very last corner the race was led by Taylor Mackenzie (GB / Buildbase BMW Motorrad) and Ian Hutchinson (GB / Tyco BMW Motorrad), but the duo crashed when battling for the win. In the BSB STK championship standings, Mackenzie is still in the lead with 178 points, followed by Hutchinson with 155 points.

SuperBike Series Brasil at Curitiba, Brazil.

Diego Pierluigi (AR) made a stunning debut on the BMW Motorrad Alex Barros Racing BMW S 1000 RR. The Argentinian will race for the team for the remainder of the 2016 season in the SuperBike Series Brasil (BRSBK). At the sixth round, held last weekend at Curitiba (BR), Pierluigi had his first appearance on the bike – and he was unbeatable. He secured pole position, set a new lap record and won the race with an advantage of over six seconds.

His team-mate Sebastiano Zerbo (IT) was fourth, followed by Danilo Lewis (BR / TecFil Racing Team) in fifth. Diego Petrel (BR / BMW Motorrad Alex Barros Racing) ended the race in eighth and Alex Borges (BR / Pitico Racing Team) completed the top ten in tenth. In the championship standings, Lewis defended the overall lead.

MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Series at the New Jersey Motorsports Park , USA.

The New Jersey Motorsports Park near Milville (US) hosted the ninth round of the MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Road Racing Series (AMA) last weekend. In the Superbike races, four BMW S 1000 RR riders took part. Cory West (US / Scheibe Racing) in 15th in the first race and his team-mate Steve Rapp (US) in 12th in the second race had the best results.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
