Whether in the DTM, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, or countless other championships: Week after week BMW teams and drivers around the world do battle for points, victories and titles. Away from the track too, members of the large BMW Motorsport family around the world are also creating headlines. The “BMW Motorsport News” allows us to regularly summarise all the action for you in a compact and informative manner. This way, you are always up to speed.

CTSC: BMW M4 GT4 finishes on the podium again at Sebring.
Second race, second podium for the BMW M4 GT4: After second place at the Daytona (USA) IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (CTSC) season opener in January, the round two race weekend at the Sebring International Raceway (USA) was also a success for the BMW teams. Team Classic BMW drivers Toby Grahovec (USA) and Jason Clunie (CAN) raced the number 26 BMW M4 GT4 to a second-place finish in the two-hour race on Friday. The duo finished 7.651 seconds behind the winning number 60 Ford Mustang GT4. The number 82 BimmerWorld Racing BMW M4 GT4 of James Clay and Tyler Cooke (both USA) - the second-place finishers last time out - finished 11th. Street Tuner class victors at Daytona, Devin Jones and Nick Galante (both USA) raced the number 81 BimmerWorld Racing BMW 328i to a fifth-place finish, which saw them finish in the points.

24h Nürburgring: Jens Klingmann in action for Falken Motorsports.
With just under eight weeks to go until the 24-hour race gets underway at the Nürburgring (GER), Falken Motorsports has announced its driver line-up for the “Green Hell”. In addition to BMW works driver Jens Klingmann (GER), the trio of Stef Dusseldorp (NED), Peter Dumbreck (GBR) and Alexandre Imperatori (SUI) will get behind the wheel of the BMW M6 GT3. Those three drivers contested the endurance classic as a team last year when they finished in eighth place. GT pro Klingmann joins them as the new “fourth man” having been in the BMW driver line-up at the Nürburgring for many years. The 24-hour race at the Nürburgring will be held on 12th/13th May.

Blancpain GT Series: Three BMW teams to contest the 2018 season.
The new Blancpain GT Series season gathered pace this week with an official test at Le Castellet (FRA). Like last season, the starting list includes two BMW M6 GT3 entries for ROWE Racing. Team principal Hans-Peter Naundorf’s (GER) crew will contest all five races of the Endurance Cup. The highlight of the season is the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (BEL), which takes place on 28th/29th July. In addition to ROWE Racing, Walkenhorst Motorsport has registered for the endurance races again with a BMW M6 GT3. In the Sprint Cup, the French team 3Y Technologies will battle for top positions with a further BMW M6 GT3. The Blancpain GT Series season gets underway at Zolder (BEL) on 7th April with the first race weekend of the Sprint Cup.

DTM: Current driver portraits available in the BMW Group PressClub.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
