Munich. The quality of the field at the BMW International Open just keeps on improving. Visitors to Germany’s most famous professional golf event can look forward to more big names. Martin Kaymer (GER) will be joined by another two former winners in Thomas Bjørn and Lee Westwood. Alex Noren joins fellow 2018 Ryder Cup heroes Sergio García (ESP) and Thorbjørn Olesen (DEN) in Munich. Matt Wallace (ENG) will also have to contend with top players like Rafa Cabrera Bello, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Bernd Wiesberger when he bids to defend the title he won last year.

“The first BMW International Open was held at Golfclub München Eichenried exactly 30 years ago, and BMW is proud, as the organiser, to guide the history of this tournament into its fourth decade,” said Florian Baumeister, Head of Events, Exhibitions and Sports Marketing at BMW Germany, at today’s press conference ahead of the BMW International Open. “We have once again managed to assemble another top-class field with an exciting mix of players for the spectators this year.”

Former world number one Westwood won the BMW International Open in 2003 and now returns to the tournament after a 13-year absence. As vice-captain, he was also involved in the victorious European team in last year’s Ryder Cup, having previously made ten appearances in the intercontinental showdown as a player. Captain Bjørn won the BMW International Open twice, in 2000 and 2002. Noren (ten European Tour victories), Fitzpatrick (five), Wiesberger (four) and Cabrera Bello (three) have also been among the top European players for many years.

Day tickets cost 15 Euros (Thursday or Friday), at the weekend tickets are 30 Euros per day. A tournament ticket for every day of the tournament is available for 75 Euros. CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
