IMSA Series: One-two for the BMW M4 GT3 in Mid-Ohio.

Turner Motorsport and Paul Miller Racing claimed a one-two with the BMW M4 GT3 in the GTD class at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship event in Mid-Ohio (USA). Bill Auberlen and Robby Foley (both USA), in the #96 BMW M4 GT3, crossed the finish line in second place after 2 hours and 40 minutes of racing, but the duo was subsequently promoted to first when the first-placed McLaren was disqualified after the race. Paul Miller Racing drivers Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow (both USA) started from pole position in the GTD class and came home directly behind Auberlen and Foley. They were promoted from third to second place, making it a one-two for the BMW M Motorsport teams. “I have lost in this way in the past,” said Auberlen, showing sympathy for the disqualified McLaren crew. Sellers said: “Our BMW M4 GT3 had fantastic pace all weekend. The partnership between BMW M Motorsport and Paul Miller Racing is getting stronger all the time. A win and then another podium today – all in our first four races together; that is something we can be proud of.”

BMW M Team RLL was not in action in Mid-Ohio, as the GTD PRO class was taking a break. Turner Motorsport and Paul Miller Racing will again be the only teams competing with the BMW M4 GT3 at the next round in Detroit (USA) on 4^th June. The GTD PRO class returns to action at the 6 Hours of Watkins Glen (USA) on 26^th June.

Michelin Pilot Challenge: Three BMW M4 GT4 in action in Mid-Ohio.

The IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge held the next round of its season in Mid-Ohio (USA). The three BMW M4 GT4s missed out on the podium. Robby Foley and Vincent Barletta (both USA) started from down in 18^th place in the #96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT4, but were able to fight their way into eighth place. Their team-mates Bill Auberlen and Dillon Machavern (both USA) ran out of fuel in the closing stages, as did a number of other crews that had pinned their hopes on a yellow phase. Sean Quinlan and Gregory Liefooghe (both USA) finished eleventh in the #43 BMW M4 GT4 for Stephen Cameron Racing.

BMW M2 CS Racing Cup Benelux: Oosten dominates at Hockenheim.

Maxime Oosten (NED) won both races at the second race weekend of the BMW M2 CS Racing Cup Benelux at the Hockenheimring (GER). The Dutchman opened a big gap in both the opening race and race two. Dirk Warmerdam (NED) twice made it onto the podium, courtesy of one runner-up finish and a third place. In race one, third place went to Willem Meijer and Lorenzo van Riet (both NED). Max Veels (NED) was second in race two, behind Oosten and in front of Warmerdam.

GT4/TC France: Podiums for the BMW M4 GT4 and the BMW M2 CS Racing.

Benjamin Lessennes (BEL) and Ricardo van der Ende (NED), at the wheel of a BMW M4 GT4 for the L’Espace Bienvenue team, finished third in Sunday’s GT4 France race at Magny-Cours (FRA). They had previously come home ninth in the opening race. In TC France, BMW M Motorsport teams finished on the podium with the BMW M2 CS Racing in two of the three races. Benoit Eveillard and Florian Teillais (both FRA), from the VSF Sports - Amplitude automobile team, were third in race one. Carla Debard (FRA) finished in the same position in race three for the Debard Automobiles By Racetivity team.

BTCC: One-two for BMW M Motorsport teams at Brands Hatch.

The second race weekend of this season’s British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) on the Indy Circuit at Brands Hatch (GBR) saw Colin Turkington and Jake Hill (both GBR) claim a one-two with the BMW 330e M Sport in race three. Turkington from Team BMW came home 1.181 seconds ahead of ROKiT MB Motorsport driver Hill. In the opening race, Hill, Turkington and Adam Morgan (GBR) narrowly missed out on the podium in fourth, fifth and sixth. Hill was the best of the BMWs in seventh place in race two. In the Drivers’ Championship, Hill and Turkington are level on points in fourth and fifth place.
