DTM Trophy: Colin Caresani wins twice at Imola.

Dutchman Colin Caresani enjoyed a dream weekend in the DTM Trophy at Imola (ITA). The Project 1 team driver, who is contesting his first season in the series, won both races at the famous “Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari”. Caresani’s maiden victory came in the opening race on Saturday, only his third race in the DTM Trophy. He took the lead at the start in the #47 BMW M4 GT4 and never looked back. He then backed up that success with his second win in a row after a hard-fought and eventful second race on Sunday. After four of the season’s 14 races, Caresani shares the lead in the overall standings with Tim Heinemann (GER / Toyota). Both drivers have 69 points to their name.

There was another podium for the BMW M4 GT4 in Saturday’s opening race as Moritz Löhner (GER) came home third in the #11 car of FK Performance Motorsport. Fourth place went to Theo Oeverhaus (GER) in the #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M4 GT4.

GT World Challenge America: Turner Motorsport on the podium in both races in Virginia.

The GT World Challenge America was at the VIRginia International Raceway (USA) at the weekend. The Turner Motorsport team claimed a podium result in both races. Michael Dinan and Robby Foley (both USA) finished runner-up in the #96 BMW M4 GT3 in race one on Saturday. The same duo came home third in the Sunday race.

Chandler Hull and Bill Auberlen (both USA) were fourth overall in race two in the #94 BimmerWorld BMW M4 GT3. That was enough to earn them second place in the Pro-Am class. They had previously finished seventh in their class in the Saturday race. ST Racing was unable to take part in race two after a crash in the opening race.

GT4/GT/TC America: Class wins aplenty for BMW M Motorsport teams.

As well as the GT World Challenge America, the SRO race weekend at the VIRginia International Raceway (USA) also featured races in the GT4 America, GT America and TC America series. The BMW M Motorsport teams claimed multiple class victories.

In GT4 America, victory in the Pro-Am class in the first of the two races went to Tom Capizzi and John Capestro-Dubets (both USA) in the #52 BMW M4 GT4 of Auto Technic Racing. Charlie Postins and James Clay (both USA) won the Am class for BimmerWorld in the #36 BMW M4 GT4. Postins and Clay then repeated their success in race two. This time, Todd Brown and Johan Schwartz (both USA) finished runner-up in the Am class in the #80 BMW M4 GT4 of Rooster Hall Racing. Austen Smith and Zac Anderson (both USA) came home third in the Silver class for Auto Technic Racing in the #51 BMW M4 GT4. In GT America, seventh place in the GT4 class for Marko Radisic (SRB) was the best result by a BMW driver. Radisic was at the wheel of the #22 BMW M4 GT4 run by SRQ Motorsport.

The BMW M Motorsport teams again dominated proceedings in TC America. They ensured that the BMW M2 CS Racing occupied the top seven and eight places in the two races. Victory in  race one went to Colin Garrett (USA / #44 Rooster Hall Racing), ahead of Stephen Cugliari (USA / #57 Accelerating Performance). Lucas Catania (USA / #26 Rigid Speed) completed the podium in third place. Race two was won by Jacob Ruud (USA / #1 Fast Track Racing), who was joined on the podium by Cugliari and Garrett in second and third place respectively.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information on the WLTP and NEDC measurement procedures is also available at www.bmw.de/wltp.

For further details of the official fuel consumption figures and official specific CO2 emissions of new cars, please refer to the “Manual on the fuel consumption, CO2 emissions and power consumption of new cars”, available at sales outlets free of charge, from Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH (DAT), Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen and at https://www.dat.de/co2/.
