Munich. The highlight of the virtual motorsport season is just around the corner – and the three official BMW M Motorsport teams are highly confident heading into the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC). At the sim racing competition of the world’s largest esports tournament, BS+COMPETITION, MOUZ, and Team Redline will compete in Riyadh (KSA) from 8th to 11th July for a total prize pool of 500,000 US dollars. Team Redline will enter the event as reigning champions with a clear mission: to defend their title. In 2024, Redline driver Kevin Siggy (SLO) also won the drivers' championship.

As in the previous year, the BMW M Motorsport teams, each with four drivers, came together in June for several days of intense preparation. The focus was on mental strength, self-control, mindfulness, and team cohesion – key success factors for a live event of this scale. From Munich (GER), the twelve brand ambassadors travelled to the remote Kaisertal in Tyrol (AUT), which can only be reached on foot. Accompanied by skilled mountain guides, the participants experienced exciting days away from the digital world – with outdoor activities, reflection sessions, and extraordinary physical challenges. The goal was to sharpen mental efficiency, better understand stress mechanisms, and build confidence in their own performance capabilities.

Timo Brückner (Project Lead BMW M Automotive Gaming) said: “This preparation programme literally pushed our BMW M Motorsport drivers out of their comfort zones and made them stronger – physically, mentally, and as a team. The retreat in the mountains, the conscious disconnect from the digital day-to-day, the inspiring conversations, and the shared experiences created a new level of cohesion and focus. I’m confident that our teams will not only be extremely fast again at the Esports World Cup but will also stand out as exemplary ambassadors for BMW M Motorsport in the rapidly growing ‘automotive gaming’ segment. Our goal is to be at the very top again this year at the EWC – and we’ve laid the foundation for that together in the Tyrolean mountains.”

The teams qualified for the EWC during the R1 2025 Spring Season, which consisted of eight online events on the "Rennsport" platform. BMW M Team Redline Racing Bulls secured second place in the team standings with 57 points. BS+COMPETITION and MOUZ finished fourth and sixth respectively.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
