BMW Championship is back at Caves Valley Golf Club – Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am kicks off this golfing highlight.

Owings Mills. The 2021 BMW Championship was a thrilling tournament that culminated in a spectacular six-hole playoff and a victory for Patrick Cantlay (USA). Four years later, the six-time “PGA TOUR Tournament of the Year” returns to Caves Valley Golf Club, once again promising excellent golf and a unique event experience.

The top 50 players of this year's PGA TOUR are vying for just 30 tickets to next week’s season finale. A golf tournament can hardly be more star-studded and competitive. The outstanding field is spearheaded by world number one player Scottie Scheffler (USA), Rory McIlroy (NIR), who this year at the Masters became only the sixth golfer in history to complete the career Grand Slam, last year’s winner Keegan Bradley (USA), and “Caves Valley defending champion” Cantlay. The only Top-10 player missing from the world rankings is Austria’s Sepp Straka, who had to withdraw for family reasons.

No less star-studded was the Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am, which traditionally kicks off the BMW Championship on Wednesday. Pop superstars the Jonas Brothers first demonstrated their skills with a golf club before thrilling the Pro-Am guests in the evening with an exclusive live concert.

All profits from the sale of Pro-Am spots – as well as all proceeds from the tournament – benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation (ESF), a foundation of tournament host Western Golf Association. The ESF awards college tuition and housing scholarships for inspiring young caddies from across the country. Since 2007, the BMW Championship has raised more than $60 million in support of the Evans Scholars Foundation, helping award more than 4,000 full tuition and housing college scholarships to caddies. On Monday, the new “Caves Valley Golf Club Evans Scholarship House” was inaugurated at the University of Maryland in the presence of Ilka Horstmeier, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, People and Places. The facility will provide up to 38 additional caddies with the opportunity to study tuition-free and live on campus in the future.

BMW will once again contribute an additional full four-year Evans Scholarship in the name of the first PGA TOUR player to record a hole-in-one on any hole during tournament play. This has happened six times so far in the history of the BMW Championship. The first player to ace the par-three 17th hole will walk away with the keys to the all-new 100% electric performance SUV BMW iX M70. BMW Owners in attendance can witness the thrill of this tantalizing par-three challenge firsthand at the BMW Owners’ Pavilion hospitality venue overlooking the 17^th hole and 18^th tee. Premium parking options are also available for BMW owners.

All guests are invited to join BMW for a variety of activities in between the action on the fairways and greens. Located by the main entrance, the BMW Fan Experience features a unique Skee-Ball style chipping challenge. On display is an exhibition of BMW models curated by PGA TOUR pros. Guests can recharge in comfort at the Baltimore Biergarten area and practice their short game with the Baltimore-themed Long Putt Challenge surrounded by BMWs displayed in the colors of the Baltimore flag. Ryder Cup-themed BMW vehicles will also be showcased. The legendary team competition (September 23–28, 2025, Bethpage Black Course near New York, USA), which BMW supports as a Worldwide Partner, also plays a sporting role at the BMW Championship. After the tournament, we will now which six U.S. players are qualified for Captain Keegan Bradley's team.

Hosted by the Western Golf Association, the BMW Championship is the oldest non-major on the PGA TOUR schedule, dating back to 1899 when it debuted as the Western Open. Not only in terms of sporting value and tradition, the BMW Championship is on par with the majors. This was underscored by the event being named “PGA TOUR Tournament of the Year” for the sixth time after 2008, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2023 last year.
