Munich / New York. Founded in 2011, the Intercultural Innovation Hub (IIH) is a joint initiative by the BMW Group and the United Nations Alliance of Civilisations (UNAOC), supported by Accenture. In 2026, the search is on again for projects worldwide that build inclusive societies and drive social change through intercultural innovation.

Global impact through social innovation

The Intercultural Innovation Hub is far more than a funding programme; it is a catalyst for growth and impact. Participating organisations receive hands-on mentoring and take part in an intensive capacity-building programme designed to strengthen and scale their strategies for addressing complex intercultural challenges.

Who is eligible to enter?

Non-profit organisations and social enterprises are eligible to take part. Focus areas include:

  • Advancing gender equality
  • Combatting xenophobia, hate speech and extremism
  • Leveraging sport, art and culture as drivers of change
  • Fostering inclusion of people with disabilities
  • The responsible use of AI and new technologies to support these goals

Up to ten projects will be selected to receive funding and support.

What does the funding package include?

USD 20,000 in project funding to strengthen and expand initiatives.

A one-year capacity-building programme featuring international workshops, masterclasses and one-on-one mentoring from experts at Accenture, the UNAOC and the BMW Group.

Access to a global leadership platform and an international community dedicated to fostering inclusion and social cohesion worldwide.

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
