Björn Lellmann, Head of Customer Racing at BMW M Motorsport:

"New season, new challenges for our drivers and teams in global customer racing. After a fantastic debut season in 2025, we once again have ambitious goals with our top models BMW M4 GT3 EVO and BMW M4 GT4 EVO. The same applies to our new BMW M2 Racing entry-level car, which will be used in many one-make cups and racing series worldwide. I am delighted that all our cars have been extremely well received by customers. Many thanks to everyone at BMW M Motorsport, who work hard every day to achieve this success. Congratulations to all the winners of the first race weekends of the season, be it in Germany, North America or Australia. My very special congratulations go to Ryder Quinn and Josh Green. Our two members of the BMW M Racing Academy have made a very strong start to their seasons."

BMW M Racing Academy: Victories and podiums for members of the “Class of 2026”.

The BMW M Racing Academy, BMW M Motorsport’s development programme for young and talented customer racing drivers, is in its second year with the “Class of 2026”. Two of the three GT4 drivers supported this year successfully started their racing seasons last weekend. 20-year-old Australian Ryder Quinn, driving the BMW M4 GT4 for the Thunder Buddies/Black Diamond Team together with his teammate Daniel Jilesen (NZL), achieved a victory and a third place in the Silver-Am class at the season opener of GT4 Australia at Phillip Island (AUS). “The team did a fantastic job – absolutely flawless in all sessions,” said Quinn. “I’m very happy that we were able to reward the team’s efforts with a few trophies. The BMW M4 GT4 was on fire all weekend. I love this combination of car and track.”

23-year-old American Josh Green, last season’s Pro-Am champion in GT4 America, has moved up to the Silver category for the new season. At the season opener at Sonoma (USA), he and Bruno Colombo (USA) finished fourth overall in the second race in the #98 BMW M4 GT4 EVO from Random Vandals Racing, which meant third place on the podium in the Silver class. In the first race, the duo finished fourth in their category. “Sonoma was good to us,” said Green. “We took away a lot of points and a podium from this weekend. Our pace was great. It’s always a pleasure to drive the BMW M4 GT4 EVO from Random Vandals Racing. Bruno did a great job in his first two GT4 stints – and there’s more to come. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn and to keep improving together with everyone in car #98.”

The third member of the “Class of 2026” is 18-year-old German Thomi Rackl. He will start his season in the GT4 European Series after Easter weekend, driving the BMW M4 GT4 EVO for Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport at Le Castellet (FRA).

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
