BMW model updates, autumn 2026.

Munich. Attractive new standard and optional equipment, combined with the market launch of numerous new models and additions to the powertrain portfolio will bring even greater variety to the BMW model range in autumn 2026. In addition, digital innovations increase convenience, enhance usefulness and deliver even greater entertainment value to customers.

New Black Package for the M Performance models of the BMW 2 Series Coupé, BMW 4 Series Coupé and BMW 4 Series Convertible maximises sporting appeal in the interior.

The striking Black Package is a new option for the M Performance models of the BMW 2 Series Coupé, BMW 4 Series Coupé and BMW 4 Series Convertible. It is available exclusively with the M Sport package Pro, which includes the M Sport brake in Red. The Black Package makes for a particularly dynamic ambience in the cabin, with motorsport-inspired carbon details adding powerful highlights. The M Carbon Fibre interior trim and M leather steering wheel with carbon decorative trim underscore the sporting appeal of the interior. In addition, the BMW M240i xDrive Coupé (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 8.0 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 181 g/km; CO₂ class: G)¹ comes with black door sill strips, like the powerful M Performance models for the BMW 4 Series Coupé and BMW 4 Series Convertible. Distinctive features of the Black Package include exclusive model badges at the rear and the BMW M logo in black on the side panel.

The Black Package for the BMW M440i xDrive Coupé (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 7.7 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 175 g/km; CO₂ class: F)¹ as well as for the BMW M440d xDrive Coupé (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 6.5 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 171 g/km; CO₂ class: F)¹ also includes 19-inch M light alloy wheels Double-spoke style 995 M Jet Black with mixed tyres. They make for an even more dynamic look. This wheel-and-tyre combination is also included in the equipment package for the two open-top models, the BMW M440i xDrive Convertible (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 7.7 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 176 g/km; CO₂ class: G)¹ and the BMW M440d xDrive Convertible (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 6.8 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 178 g/km; CO₂ class: G)¹. Further M light alloy wheels are available as optional add-ons to the Black Package for the four BMW 4 Series models mentioned above.     

Premieres: New models and powertrains for the BMW 7 Series, BMW X5, BMW iX5, BMW X3, BMW iX3 and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.

The BMW model range will feature numerous new additions in autumn 2026. Three models from the new BMW 7 Series unveiled in spring 2026 will have their start of production and launch on the German market. They include the 230 kW/313 hp BMW 740d xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 7.0 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 185 g/km; CO₂ class: G)¹ as well as the BMW 750e xDrive plug-in hybrid model (WLTP combined (EnVKV): energy consumption: 12.5 kWh/100 km and 5.5 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions: 124 g/km; CO₂ classes: with discharged battery G, weighted, combined D; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 8.9 l/100 km)¹ with 360 kW/489 hp of power. The 450 kW/612 hp M Performance model, the BMW M760e xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): energy consumption: 11.0 kWh/100 km and 6.7 l/100 km (WLTP); CO₂ emissions: 151 g/km (WLTP); CO₂ classes: with discharged battery G, weighted, combined E; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 10.0 l/100 km)¹, completes the top end of the BMW 7 Series range. All three new models come with 3.0-litre six-cylinder in-line engines.

Models from the new BMW X5 generation unveiled in summer 2026 will also have their market launch in the coming months. They include the two plug-in hybrid variants, the BMW X5 50e xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): energy consumption: 13.9–13.7 kWh/100 km and 5.8– 5.5 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions: 132–126 g/km; CO₂ classes: with discharged battery G, weighted, combined D; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 9.7–9.3 l/100 km)¹ and BMW X5 M60e xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): energy consumption: 14.1 kWh/100 km and 6.2 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions: 141 g/km; CO₂ classes: with discharged battery G, weighted, combined E; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 10.9 l/100 km)¹, as well as the BMW iX5 60 xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): energy consumption 22.5–19.3 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km; electric range: 723–850 km; CO₂ class: A)¹ electric version of the new BMW X5.

Another premiere comes in the form of the BMW iX3 40 xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): energy consumption 19.5–16.3 kWh/100 km; CO₂ emissions: 0 g/km; electric range: 515–621 km; CO₂ class: A)¹. This electric SUV produces 275 kW/374 hp of power. The BMW X3 M50 xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 8.8 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 199 g/km; CO₂ class: G)¹ will in future deliver an output of 326 kW/443 hp – a significant, 33 kW/45 hp increase over the previous model version.

Further changes to the BMW powertrain range concern the BMW 218i Active Tourer (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 6.1 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 138 g/km; CO₂ class: E)¹, its sister model, the BMW 220i Active Tourer (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 6.1 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 138 g/km; CO₂ class: E)¹ and the BMW X3 20 xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 8.2 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 186 g/km; CO₂ class: G)¹. 

Even more choice: New BMW Individual special paint finishes available for the BMW 7 Series and BMW i7.
The range of exterior colours for the BMW 7 Series and the BMW i7 is set to expand – and become even more exclusive. From autumn 2026, a total of eight particularly attractive BMW Individual Two-Tone paint finishes will be available for all engine variants.

In addition, there are two new options for the BMW 7 Series and the BMW i7 – the digital interior mirror and pre-heating.

BMW 2er Active Tourer: 17-inch light alloy wheels now come as standard for three new models.
Newly included as standard for the BMW 218d Active Tourer (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 5.0 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 133 g/km; CO₂ class: D)¹, BMW 220d Active Tourer (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 4.7 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 123 g/km; CO₂ class: D)¹ and BMW 225e xDrive Active Tourer (WLTP combined (EnVKV)): energy consumption: 11.5 kWh/100 km and 2.9 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions: 66 g/km; CO₂ classes: with discharged battery E, weighted, combined B; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 6.2 l/100 km)¹ from autumn 2026: 17-inch light alloy wheels Star-spoke style 875, replacing the previous 16-inch light alloy wheels.

Interior upgrade for the BMW X3.
From autumn 2026, the BMW X3 will benefit from a number of new interior features. These include, for example, illumination in the centre console storage compartment, a grab handle with ambient lighting and a new glove box opener. The instrument panel will feature new stitching. The loading sill in the luggage compartment has a new stainless steel insert (not for the BMW X3 20 xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 8.2 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 185 g/km; CO₂ class: G¹) and BMW X3 20d xDrive (WLTP combined (EnVKV): fuel consumption 6.5 l/100 km; CO₂ emissions 171 g/km; CO₂ class: F)¹). 

BMW iX3: New exterior colours. Optional roof rails in Black high-gloss.
Mineral White metallic will in future be available as a new exterior colour for the BMW iX3. New BMW Individual special paint finishes will also be available. New seat adjustment controls in the doors, complete with contour lighting, will in future be included as standard in conjunction with the optional multifunction seats and BMW sport seats. The Wireless Charging tray Plus will come as standard from autumn 2026. In addition, each of the standard front seats will come with a Travel & Comfort adapter on the back. Black high-gloss roof rails will in future be available as a new option. Another new feature is the changed geometry of the brake calipers on the optional M Sport brake, both the Red version and the Blue. 

For BMW models with BMW Operating System 9 and X: even more entertainment with Amazon Prime Video.
In the second half of 2026, the addition of Amazon Prime Video will expand the range of digital entertainment available in BMW vehicles equipped with BMW Operating System 9 or X. Customers will be able to use the BMW Video & TV App or an app download from the in-car App Store to access series, films, blockbusters and sports content. They will be able to pick up their viewing exactly where they left off at home.

Drive Challenge: live feedback on driving style.
The innovative BMW Drive Challenge function in vehicles equipped with BMW Operating System X provides drivers with direct, real-time feedback on precise and safe acceleration, steering and braking. Particularly adept driving manoeuvres are also considered. The direct visual feedback provided by BMW Panoramic Vision can help drivers improve their skills. Even after completion of their journey, drivers can see in the My BMW App which journeys had the Drive Challenge activated and how their driving manoeuvres were rated. The feature will be rolled out in stages across different vehicle models; integration with the My BMW App is expected to be available from the end of 2026.

Even better and more intuitive: BMW Maps.
From October 2026, BMW Maps will combine navigation, vehicle surroundings and driver assistance features in a combined 3D view in vehicles equipped with BMW Operating System X. This provides drivers with an intuitive view of how the vehicle interprets its environment and which assistance functions are supporting the current driving task. The solution developed by the BMW Group combines precise map data, vehicle sensors and artificial intelligence and uses navigation data and mapping technology from Mapbox.

The integration of Google data makes searching in BMW Maps even better. Customers can find the right places and points of interest more quickly and benefit from more comprehensive search results as well as additional information such as reviews, photos and other relevant details.

  BMW M Performance Parts: innovative M light alloy wheels for BMW M5 models.

BMW M Performance Parts have always made a clear statement about future-forward technology, sporty and dynamic looks and uncompromising quality. BMW is continuing its successful tradition of tailor-made individualisation with the new BMW M light alloy wheels, manufactured using an innovative High Pressure Casting (HPC) process. The use of this production method for the BMW M5 marks a first in the automotive industry. It enables a completely new design language for cast light alloy wheels, with previously unrealisable geometries, surfaces and filigree contours. Wheels can now feature up to 70 bladed spokes or extremely thin sections to improve aerodynamics. In addition, the new process increases strength where it matters, while saving a significant amount of weight and considerably reducing the carbon footprint.

From autumn 2026, the new M Performance light alloy wheel will be available for the first time, in Gold Bronze and Jet Black, exclusively for the BMW M5 Sedan (energy consumption weighted, combined: 17.7–17.3 kWh/100 km and 5.2–4.9 l/100 km (WLTP); CO₂ emissions, weighted, combined: 118–113 g/km (WLTP); CO₂ classes: with discharged battery G, weighted, combined D–C; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 10.7–10.5 l/100 km (WLTP))^1,2 and the BMW M5 Touring (energy consumption, weighted, combined: 18.1–17.7 kWh/100 km and 5.5–5.2 l/100 km (WLTP); CO₂ emissions, weighted, combined: 124–118 g/km (WLTP); CO₂ classes: with discharged battery G, weighted, combined D; fuel consumption with discharged battery: 11.0–10.7 l/100 km (WLTP))^1,2. New 20-inch or 21-inch 1075 M style light alloy wheels are offered as a complete wheel set with sport tyres.

The manufacturing process developed by German company Entec-Stracon GmbH enables the fast production of particularly sustainable aluminium wheels. Under vacuum and high pressure, the new M Performance light alloy wheel is cast in just 0.05 seconds from the outside in. The process is monitored by 80 sensors and an AI. Demoulding is completed within a few seconds. There is no need for any subsequent heat treatment. Overall production time is halved. The material used is an optimised, recyclable alloy. The energy required to produce a wheel is halved as well.

The new process results in a smaller grain size in the metal, significantly increasing its strength. This enables weight savings of up to 20 per cent per wheel, with performance unchanged. The significant reduction of unsprung masses results in even more agile handling, faster acceleration and improved braking performance. Benefits that further enhance the sporting character of the BMW M5 Sedan and BMW M5 Touring.
