Timo Glock (GER) claimed his fourth DTM victory in race eleven of the 2017 season. Starting from pole position, he crossed the finish line first in the DEUTSCHE POST BMW M4 DTM after 37 laps of racing. He was followed home by fellow BMW drivers Marco Wittmann (GER) and Maxime Martin (BEL), who finished second and third to complete an all-BMW podium.
Munich. The 2017 DTM season edges towards its business end with races eleven and twelve this weekend. Following outings in Budapest (HUN) and Moscow (RUS), the two races in Zandvoort (NED) now mark the series’ third trip outside Germany.
Bruno Spengler (CAN) celebrated a podium third place in Sunday’s DTM race at the “Moscow Raceway”. After claiming BMW’s 60th pole position in DTM history in qualifying, he battled well in a turbulent race which saw him finish on the podium for the 48th time in his DTM career.
Marco Wittmann (GER) finished on the podium in third place in the ninth race of the DTM season, at the Moscow Raceway (RUS). A year after his win at the same venue, he got BMW’s tenth podium position overall at the track just outside the Russian capital.
After making the most of home advantage at the Norisring (GER), the BMW teams in the DTM are now facing their second overseas journey of the season. The fifth DTM weekend of the year will take place at the Moscow Raceway (RUS).
Following Bruno Spengler’s (CAN) victory in Saturday’s race at the Norisring (GER), it was another BMW driver who crossed the finish line in first place at the end of the eighth race of the year on Sunday: after 66 laps, two safety car phases and one red flag, Maxime Martin (BEL) took the chequered flag to claim the 75th success for BMW in the DTM having started from seventh on the grid.
