This edition of Le Mans Classic marks a historic occasion with the return of the first BMW Art Car by Alexander Calder, in its Artist's Proof version, initiated by the Calder Foundation and BMW Group Classic, to the track where it all began 50 years ago.

BMW is celebrating ‘50 years of Turbo Power in motorsport’ in 2019. From the first turbo engine back in 1969 to the latest P48 engine for the BMW M4 DTM, which already has six wins to its name this season, there have been many steps forward. The fourth race weekend of the 2019 DTM season is BMW’s home event at the legendary Norisring in Nuremberg (GER), only about 160 kilometres away from BMW’s home in Munich (GER). Friday’s BMW M Motorsport Car Launch brought that ‘motor racing feeling’ to life for fans at BMW Welt in Munich (GER). At an action-packed opening event, BMW M Motorsport heralded the new season and presented its cars and drivers to the public. The event also opened the BMW M Motorsport Days, which are set to thrill visitors to BMW Welt from Friday to Sunday.
"Blue Hero", a project by Romanian artist Adrian Mitu, was unveiled in Bucharest in the presence of Jochen Neerpasch. The art project follows Neerpasch's career in motorsport, his influence on brands such as BMW and his ties with other emblematic motorsport heroes such as Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet, Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost.
Munich / Zandvoort, NL. In 2016, the BMW Group is celebrating its 100th anniversary. At the same time, exactly 50 years have passed since the BMW 02-Series was first presented in the public domain. This is being celebrated with a very special race at the Historic Grand Prix Zandvoort (2, 3 and 4 September): the “BMW Centenary Trophy: BMW 2002 meets BMW 3.0 CSL”.

The BMW Group and Leopold, Prince of Bavaria, are bound together by a long-standing friendship. During his racing career, “Poldi” achieved more than 120 victories, since1986 exclusively with BMW automobiles. For 35 years, he raced on many famous racetracks and mountain roads. He was behind the wheel of touring cars, sports cars and vintage cars, participated in Formula 3 racing and was a BMW works driver. Only the Formula 1 is missing from his career. ...

CO2 emission information.
Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.
All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies.
