BMW Group Classic presents the completely restored roadster of the “King of Rock’n’Roll” for the first time in public at the popular classic car show in California.
Munich. BMW Group Classic has completed the move to its new headquarters located on a historic site. The company archive and the vehicle collection, the workshop and the customer centre together with the parts service for classic automobiles and motorcycles are now located together in an ensemble of buildings in the district of Milbertshofen in Munich.
BMW Group Classic is bringing about a revival of the super sports car at the “Austrian Grand Prix” and recalling the spectacular race series held in 1979 and 1980 – 14 former racing cars and lots of drivers from yesteryear are appearing in the Legends Parade at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.
BMW Group Classic has entered a large number of victorious racing cars and famous drivers from the company’s 100 years of history in the legendary hillclimb at Goodwood in the United Kingdom – BMW is being presented to visitors at this heritage event as an Honoured Marque in this centenary year.
80 years ago, BMW presented the R 5 to the international public - an exciting new technological development that was to influence motorcycle construction right through to the 1950s. Inspired by the factory racing machine, it was one of the groundbreaking sports motorbikes of the late 1930s. To mark the 80th anniversary of the BMW R 5, BMW Motorrad is honouring this icon at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2016 with a special model: the BMW R 5 Hommage.
Munich/Cernobbio. With BMW’s centenary headline “The Next 100 Years” in mind, the BMW Group is bringing together, for the first time, the full line-up of Hommage vehicles unveiled over recent years. They will be joined on display at a special exhibition titled “Hommage and Concept Vehicles” in the Padiglione Centrale at Villa Erba by the models from the past that inspired them.

CO2 emission information.
Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.
All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies.
