Hockenheim (DE), 3rd May 2015. Marco Wittmann (DE) of BMW Team RMG was the best-placed BMW driver in the second qualifying session in Hockenheim (DE). On a drying track, the reigning DTM champion qualified third in the Ice-Watch BMW M4 DTM, with a personal best of 1:34.968 minutes.

Martin Tomczyk (DE), António Félix da Costa (PT) and Maxime Martin (BE) line up in sixth, seventh and ninth positions. Augusto Farfus (BR) and Tom Blomqvist (GB) are relegated five grid positions due to a breach of the rules during the warm-up. They will start race two of the weekend from 18th and 24th. The second pole position of the season went to Audi driver Mike Rockenfeller (DE) with a fastest lap of 1:34.516 minutes.

Quote from the best-placed BMW driver:

“I said after yesterday’s disappointing opening race that today would be a new day with a new chance to attack. I did a very good job of proving that in qualifying. We are now very well placed for the race. We will have to wait and see what the weather does. It is forecast to rain. Whatever happens, we will do our best to get the maximum out of the race.” – Marco Wittmann (BMW Team RMG, 3rd)

CO2 emission information.

Fuel consumption, CO2 emission figures and power consumption and range were measured using the methods required according to Regulation VO (EC) 2007/715 as amended. They refer to vehicles on the German automotive market. For ranges, the NEDC figures take into account differences in the selected wheel and tyre size, while the WLTP figures take into account the effects of any optional equipment.

All figures have already been calculated based on the new WLTP test cycle. NEDC figures listed have been adjusted to the NEDC measurement method where applicable. WLTP values are used as a basis for the assessment of taxes and other vehicle-related duties which are (also) based on CO2 emissions and, where applicable, for the purposes of vehicle-specific subsidies. Further information are available at www.bmw.de/wltp and at www.dat.de/co2/.
