Vienna. When fashion and music come together at the Life Ball, the upshot is bound to be unique and compelling. This year the spotlight will be on the new Life Ball MINI in Katy Perry style, courtesy of American designer double-act The Blonds.
For fans hoping to own this one-off model, things couldn’t be simpler: the Life Ball MINI 2009 is being raffled off in a prize draw.
Each raffle ticket costs 10 euros and can be obtained at any Life Ball event, from all BMW and MINI partners in Austria, directly from Life Ball, from the Austrian lottery distributor Prokopp and, needless to say, over the internet. For detailed information on purchasing tickets please go to www.mini.at or www.lifeball.org. All proceeds from the draw will go towards Life Ball and projects combating HIV/AIDS.
Tickets will be on sale until the end of August and the prize draw will take place on 1 September 2009. Previous Life Ball MINI models have been designed by renowned fashion icons such as Missoni (2003), Ferré (2004) and Versace (2005), followed by Diesel in 2006, Mario Testino in 2007 and Agent Provocateur last year. Proceeds currently total 304,002 euros.

MINI provided the American designer duo The Blonds with a brand-new MINI Convertible. In creating their design, they were energetically assisted by their friend, the singer Katy Perry. The result is a truly unique car: the Life Ball MINI 2009 comes in pink and black leopard look with swanky tassels suspended from the wing mirrors. The wild cat motif extends into the interior, where the seats and some of the instruments are lined with black faux fur. And there’s even a touch of glamour in the footwells: the mats are covered in glittery black, deep-pile carpeting.
During their appearance at the Life Ball, David and Phillipe Blond accompanied by Katy Perry will personally escort “their” MINI down the Blue Carpet.
